Race 3: DARRYL GOLLAN TRIBUTE QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1200M

DUSTY TYCOON – When questioned regarding the run, apprentice A. Thompson stated it was his instructions to race in a forward position, however, after working to a three wide position he elected to push forward approaching the 800m to the outside of the leader. As a result, he was then reluctant to overly restrain his mount as it had previously had a tendency to get its head up in track work when being restrained. He added that he would have preferred to have obtained a position on the rail or sitting off the header, however, he was unable to do so and the horse thereafter gave ground in the straight. Trainer R. Heathcote confirmed the instructions were to race in a forward position, however, he believed they may have gone a little hard in the middle stages. Mr Heathcote also indicated that DUSTY TYCOON was showing signs of being in season.

BROKEN HERO – Steadied from the heels of the weakening CHARLIE SPHENE near the 400m.

Kendrickwas advised that STAR OF MICHELIN must obtain a veterinary clearance, trial satisfactorily and, given this was the second occasion on which the horse has suffered cardiac arrhythmia, must undergo testing under the supervision of a cardiologist, with the results provided to QRIC veterinary staff, prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.
