Race 1: TAB CREATE YOUR SPRING CALENDAR Class 3 Plate 1110 metres
 
GENZAI THE WOLF – Near the 800 metres, after improving to the inside of APPLECROSS, had to be restrained off the heels of that gelding which shifted in.  M Du Plessis, rider of APPLECROSS, was reprimanded under AR131(a).
 
MICK THE HAT – Rider T Harrison stated due to the slow early pace she elected to allow the gelding to progress forward and race outside the leader leaving the 800 metres.
 
GIN 'N' BITTERS – Raced keenly in early stages.
 
APPLECROSS – Raced keenly in the early stages and leaving the 800 metres had be steadied from the heels of NIEDORP.
 
 
Race 2: DRIVER RECRUITMENT QTIS 3-Y-O C&G Handicap 1200 metres
 
KAVAK – Jumped in at the start and made heavy contact with JETTY.
 
ROLLINWITHTHEFLOW – Bumped with BETTER LAD on jumping. Laid out rounding the home-turn.
 
I AM SWERVING – Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Bumped by JETTY near the 600 metres.
 
JETTY – At the start crowded for room when tightened for room between CORVO and KAVAC, both of which shifted ground. Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped with I AM SWERVING near the 600 metres.
 
CORVO – Change of tactics, more forward from inside draw. Ridden accordingly. Jumped out at the start and made heavy contact with JETTY.
 
BETTER LAD – Bumped with ROLLINWITHTHEFLOW on jumping. Near the 600 metres steadied from the heels of JETTY. Passing the 200 metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Rider T Harrison stated it was her intention to race in a forward position, however after being caught wide she was obliged to ride the gelding back in the field.
 
 
 
 
Race 3: BUCHER MUNICIPAL Class 6 Handicap 1615 metres
 
DESTINY'S OWN – Apprentice J Huxtable was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted.
 
ZIEMBA – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with the hind quarters of LOVE STRUCK. Rider S Thornton advised that whilst the gelding raced in its usual position back in the field, ZIEMBA was not suited by the slow pace in the middle stages and ran home strongly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LOVE STRUCK – Rider M Hellyer reported it was not his intention to race in a forward position, however after beginning well he allowed the gelding to stride forward and race outside the leader from the 1300 metres.
 
POPULIST – Laid out making the turn into the home straight.
 
ZOUZOUZALO – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages of the event.
 
 
Race 4: SUEZ SPRING Plate (2YO) 1110 metres
 
OUR HOT FRIEND – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
THE MAGIC ONE – Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced greenly throughout.
 
MISHANI BANDIT – Near the 900 metres checked when crowded to the inside of OUR HOT FRIEND which shifted in after being bumped by THE MAGIC ONE when over-racing.
 
LE FORCE – Slow to begin. Shortly after passing the 800 metres eased from the heels of EMMY VEIN. Dipped passing the 600 metres.
 
ALERT AND READY – Disappointed for a run near the 300 metres before being shifted wider on the track a short distance later to obtain clear running.
 
MISHANI DELIGHT – Laid out rounding the home-turn and after passing the 300 metres then laid in for a short distance. Following the event rider M Du Plessis reported the filly felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination of MISHANI DELIGHT revealed the filly to be striding slightly short in front.
 
LOCKDOWN LADY – Slow to begin. Near the 1000 metres steadied away from the heels of MISHANI BANDIT and then near the 900 metres checked away from the heels of MISHANI BANDIT. Near the 800 metres steadied from the heels of LE FORCE.
 
 
 
 
Race 5: DAIMLER TRUCKS BRISBANE BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 2020 metres
 
ALPINE DANCER – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay out from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have bled from both nostrils for the second time. Trainer R Heathcote was advised ALPINE DANCER would now incur a life-time ban from racing under AR79(6) 
 
TOGA PICTA – Near the 300 metres steadied from the heels of OCEAN TREATY.
 
HOLBROOK  - Inclined to lay out in the home straight.
 
MADAM MAHAL – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
AIRLIE MAN – Trainer S Pedron was fined $100 for late declaration of rider for that gelding. Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 6: NUGROW QTIS 3-Y-O Fillies Handicap 1200 metres
 
MINJEE – Slow to begin.
 
STAROSA – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
PAREDO – Passing the 900 metres raced in restricted room and had to be eased and a short distance later brushed the running rail.
 
BETTER GET SET – Approaching the 900 metres crowded for room by PAREDO which was taken in by CHATTANOOGA LUCY which in turn was carried in by DUSTY TYCOON. Jockey D Smith, RIDER OF DUSTY TYCOON was reprimanded under AR131(a) and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances in future. Over-raced approaching the 800 metres. Had difficulty securing clear running near the 200 metres.
 
CHATTANOOGA LUCY – Passing 1000 metres commenced to race keenly and near the 900 metres was bumped and forced in crowding runners to the inside. A short distance later was steadied from the heels of DUSTY TYCOON.
 
GLITTER STRIP – Change of tactics, more forward from inside draw. After being crowded for room leaving 1000 metres settled in a midfield position.  
 
Due to heavy rain which fell during the running of this event and continued rainfall following the race, Stewards conducted a track inspection of the racing surface. Following this inspection the remainder of the meeting was called off at 3:25pm due to the presence of surface water on the track.
