GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: MOUNT FRANKLIN QTIS Three-Year-Old Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Shajaea –Began awkwardly.
 
Why We Drink – Checked between runners on jumping and lost ground. Steadied from heels leaving the 300m.
 
Birriecart –Began awkwardly. Raced greenly in particular when attempting to be settled in the early stages.
 
Extremist –Bumped on jumping.
 
Capital Girl –Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 600m.
 
Craiglea Icon – Began awkwardly and shifted in making heavy contact with WHY WE DRINK. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 2: BRC MEMBERSHIP Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
Bi Turbo –Began very awkwardly and bumped heavily with STAR PATROL.
 
Maxcalemma -Began awkwardly.
 
Think Glory –Tightened on jumping. Apprentice J Lloyd was dislodged returning to the enclosure and was assessed by the Club Doctor and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
Wurnic –Steadied between the 600m and 500m when awkwardly placed at heels and unable to improve.
 
Pool Pony –Fractious in barriers. Raced wide throughout. Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight before being disappointed for a run passing the 250m. Apprentice J Lloyd rider of THINK GLORY was reprimanded for this incident pursuant to AR131(a).
 
Star Patrol – Bumped on jumping. Steadied from heels near the 800m when racing keenly.
 
Whistle Hoff – Buffeted between runners on jumping before contacting the heels of TILIBET causing it to blunder and lose ground.
 
Blazing Fairy -Slow to begin. Raced wide before reaching the position outside the leader near the 700m.
 
More Than Venice – Taken wider passing the 300m.
 
Tilibet – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Taken wider passing the 300m.
 
Race 3: SKY RACING Class 6 Handicap 1350 metres
 
Animate –Held up rounding home turn. Following the declaration of correct weight stewards on review of the patrol footage noted that the gelding’s barrier had not opened in unison with the rest of the field. Stewards considered the provisions of AR204 and given that ANIMATE had placed 4th in the event, could not be declared a non-starter. This matter was addressed with the Club Starters and the barriers retested prior to the next event. Cast its off fore plate in running.
 
Great Keppell – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Nyami (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Five Oxford – Jockey T Marshall and Trainer K Kemp were questioned regarding tactics adopted, in that the gelding led in today’s event which is in contrast to its most recent established racing pattern. Jockey T Marshall stated that whilst both parties had concerns of no apparent speed in the event, after the gelding began well and being caught wide early with no pace shown by runners to his inside, he elected to press forward and assume the lead. Stewards noted the comments.
 
Race 4: SPRINGSOCIAL.COM.AU OPEN Handicap 1660 metres
 
 
Sir Barnabus – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
 
Peppi La Few – Held up for clear running from the 450m to the 200m. Stewards inquired into Jockey B Stewarts tactics adopted in the middle stages when after having been steadied in order to trail CONQUER THE STARS as to whether an opportunity was available, to again shift out prior to RIGHT OR WRONG improving to its outside near the 1000M.  Jockey Stewart explained that in hindsight it may have ultimately been a better option but at the time he felt that if he eased to the outside of CONQUER THE STARS, he believed it was likely that his amount would again begin to over race which would have had a detrimental effect on its performance. Stewards noted his comments.
 
Conquer The Stars – Raced keenly after being ridden aggressively to attain the lead.
 
Race 5: MEKKA RACEDAY Maiden Handicap 1660 metres
 
 
Kirkeby – Over raced early. Jockey J Orman was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
Coulomb (NZ) – Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn.
 
 
Sennachie – Jockey B EIissa reported that his saddle slipped back shortly after the start placing him at a disadvantage.
 
Big Andy – Slow to begin. Over raced middle stages.
 
Coerced – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers after it reared over making heavy contact with its head on the ground and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2.32 pm by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice with the following deductions to apply. Trainer D Murphy was advised that a warning would be placed on COERCED regarding its pre-race manners.

North Rocks – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 6: SPRING LADIES RACEDAY 23 OCTOBER Class 3 Handicap 1050 metres
 
 
Ginger Rock – Hampered shortly after the start when BETTER RUSH shifted in.
 
Reality – Slow to begin. Jockey B Nothdurft reported post-race that the gelding did not let down as expected in the straight and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
Shamaton – Began awkwardly and shortly thereafter steadied from SHEEZASINGA which shifted out.
 
A Girl Like Alice – Raced wide throughout. Weakened in the home straight and underwent a postrace veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Apprentice M Wishart was fined $100.00 pursuant to AR143 (14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance.
 
Race 7: XXXX DRY Class 1 Plate 1660 metres
 
Cleary Adonis – Over raced during  the early and middle stages.
 
Fiorente Star – Jockey J Orman reported that it was not his intention to lead however after beginning well and being caught wide he elected to allow his mount to stride forward.
 
Impactful – Held up between the 400m and 200m.
 
Ostermeier – Bumped shortly after the start and lost ground. Inconvenienced and taken wider rounding the home turn.
 
Torowoto – Jockey A Spinks reported that it was not his intention to lead however after beginning well and his mount racing strongly he elected to allow his mount to stride forward.
 
Blaze Seven (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn.
 
 
 
 
Race 8: CASCADE BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1350 metres
 
 
Daring Belle – Steadied when racing in restricted room near the 650m. Held up over the final 200m and unable to be fully tested by its rider.
 
Emergent – Jockey B Nothdurft reported that when racing wide his mount raced ungenerously which may have had a detrimental effect on its performance.
 
Grandioso - Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Liability – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early part of the straight.
 
Heaven Amore (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
Captivated – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels when attempting to improve after passing the near the 600m.
 
 
Race 9: TAB VENUE MODE Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
Cotton Fields – Shifted in near the 900m making heavy contact with SALATEEN and shifting that runner nearer the rail.
 
First Crown – Tightened on jumping.
 
Salateen – Bumped heavily near the 900m and shifted nearer the fence by COTTON FIELDS.
 
Mishani Destroyer – Blundered on jumping.
 
Brazen Princess – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
The Carpenter -Apprentice M Wishart was fined $100.00 pursuant to AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance.
