GENERAL
Jockey M Hellyer (DRUMADOIR) was fined $300 under AR227(a) in that he was negligent in not having sort permission from trainer L Erhart that he was going to claim 0.5kg over its allotted weight. As a result, an announcement was publicly made that M Hellyer was going to ride overweight. M Hellyer advised upon arrival to the track that he would ride 54kg of its declared weight.  
 
Race 1: 1 CASCADE QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
BIRRIECART – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to a position at the rear of the field closer to the rail near the 800m. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
OUR RED PLANET – Over-raced in the early stages. Approaching the 900m whilst racing keenly had to be restrained when awkwardly placed at the heels of FASTLING which shifted in when not clear. App J Lloyd was advised to allow his fellow riders more clearance when shifting ground.
 
NIZHONI LASS – Bumped on jumping. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 2: XXXX DRY Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate 1050 metres
 
 
BI TURBO – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
FASTLING – On arrival to the barriers had to be resaddled. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Trainer M Mathews was reprimanded under AR106 for negligence in the way he saddled the gelding.
 
KABALEGA – Bumped shortly after the start. Steadied from the heels of MOUNT FUJI which shifted in momentarily.
 
MOUNT FUJI – Fractious in the barrier. Began awkwardly. Near the 600m raced in restricted room to the inside of OUR MIRAGE which shifted in momentarily.  Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until a point entering the home straight.
 
OUR MIRAGE – Bumped on jumping.
 
FLAMING ASTEROID – Trainer B Brown advised Stewards of a change of tactics, from the wide barrier will be ridden further back than its most recent start. Ridden accordingly.
 
RAW GOLD – Bumped on jumping.
 
Race 3: 3 RQ SUPPORTS RACING INDUSTRY SAFETY Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1050 metres
 
BEAN DREAMIN' – Near the 800m was restrained when placed in restricted room to the inside of MY ODDETTE which laid in.
 
MISS CLICQUOT – Over-raced in the early stages. Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed and minor laceration to its tongue.
 
MY ODDETTE (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Near the 800m laid in and bumped with BEAN DREAMIN’. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Shifted in abruptly near the 50m and made contact with the inside running rail.
 
DA PARTY GAL – Began awkwardly. Steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of QUEEN SAFARI near the 800m.
 
NAMANULA – Weakened noticeably in the home straight and finished a distance last. Rider T Marshall reported that he had concerns with the horses breathing and added that the filly blundered on a number of occasions in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer M Nolan was advised that the filly will be required to officially trial before racing and again.
 
RODIAN BULL – Began awkwardly and was bumped jumping.
 
 
Race 4: LEAN MEAN MACHINE AT AQUIS BENCHMARK 68 Handicap
1050 metres
 
KING OF THE DESERT – Bumped on jumping.
 
MASTER RED – Slow to begin and failed to must early speed.
 
GLOCK – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
A RIVER SOMEWHERE – Raced ride in the early stages. Rider S Thornton reported that the mare worked hard in the early stages to gain a position outside the lead near the 800m and was disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LOGAN'S BLADE - Began awkwardly and blundered. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: SKY RACING Class 5 Handicap 1350 metres
 
LET'S PARTY MARTY – Performed below market expectations, rider K Wilson-Taylor could offer no tangible explanation in regards to the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings.
 
CABEIRIAN – Commenced to race keenly in the early stages. Approaching the 800m whilst over-racing improved onto the heels of LET’S PARTY MARTY and shifted out, allowing NORM’S CHOICE to improve to its inside and was obliged to race wide for the remainder.
 
PARKO – Bumped on jumping.
 
NORM'S CHOICE – Disappointed for clear running in the early part of the home straight and as a resulted shifted to the outside of LET'S PARTY MARTY to improve. Apprentice J Lloyd reported that he had settle further back than he would have liked in order to obtain cover and the mare did not run on as anticipated and proved disappointing.
 
RURU – Racing in restricted room for some distance approaching and passing the 800m.
 
Race 6: SANTOS AT AQUIS Class 1 Plate 2240 metres
 
ALLUDERE – Raced three wide throughout.
 
WINDUPGIRL – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
NORTH ROCKS – Slow to begin.
 
HEEYA – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
Race 7: DUBIOUS FIRST FOALS AT AQUIS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap
1650 metres
 
DAULAT TAI PANAZIZ – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Apprentice J Lloyd reported that after received in the tightened early his mount never travelled well and in his opinion may not have appreciated today’s tracks conditions.
 
KAIBERRY (NZ) – Reared on jumping almost dislodging its rider and shortly after shifted in.
 
BLACKLOG (NZ) – Was checked and lost ground when tightened for room between runners on jumping.
 
KIRKEBY – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
 
KARLSTAD (NZ) – Tightened between runners on jumping.
 
BLAZE SEVEN (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Commenced to over-race early and was permitted to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1100m.
 
CONSULAR – Approaching the 1200m raced in restricted room between VOLUNTEER and BLAZE SEVEN which was taken in by KAIBERRY and was steadied. Near the 1100m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of BLAZE SEVEN which shifted in.
 
Race 8: TAB VENUE MODE Class 1 Plate 1350 metres
 
HE KNOWS – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until a point near the 150m.
 
QUIET MICHAEL (NZ) – From the barrier was restrained to a position at the rear of the field and closer to the rail.
 
NOT A CHOICE – Bumped on jumping.
 
MARLA JANE (NZ) – Approaching the 150m was eased when tightened for room when HE KNOWS (B Nothdurft) shifted in to obtain clear running. Jockey B Nothdurft was pleaded guilty to a charge to careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 150m he shifted in when insufficiently clear of MARLA JANE which was eased and lost rightful running. Jockey B Nothdurft licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight the 20 October 2021 and expire midnight 28 October 2021.
 
ZOUDICA (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Weakened noticeably. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings. Trainer H Page was notified that she will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance with satisfactory results of an endoscopic examination prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
BOOM RANGA – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout. App L Kilner reported that the gelding laid in for the majority.
