GENERAL
 
As S.Tomlinson was unable to fulfil his engagements due to injury, Stewards approved the following replacements:
 
Race 2 – Happy Babe - Jaden Lloyd
Race 3 – Miss Jedi – A Patis
Race 6 – Quotant – W Peel
 
The following overweights were approved:
Race 1 – A Devils Chance – M Hellyer +1kg
Race 3 – Starzam – N Rawiller +1/2kg
Race 6 – Louie La’Joy – L Tilley +1/2kg, Rhyme Time – A Mallyon +1/2kg
 
As N Fazackerley was unable to fulfil his engagement due to currently holding the appropriate licence.
 
 
 
Race 1: XXXX DRY Maiden Handicap 1640 metres
 
STYLE SEEKER (NZ) – Tightened for room near 1300 when CRITICAL THINKER shifted in slightly.
 
DREAMING JEANIE – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THAT'S MY OPINION – Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn, inconvenienced near the 300m when OBER PURKLA shifted in abruptly. It was noted that the gelding cast its near hind plate during the race.
 
INFINITE JOY – Raced greenly in the early stages when leading.
 
LONDON BELL (NZ) – Raced three wide in the early stages until being ridden forward and racing outside the leader by the 1200m.
 
KITTYKITTYBANGBANG – Restrained in the early stages from the wide barrier to gain a position closer to the rail. Hampered at the 200m when racing in restricted room to the inside of DREAMING JEANIE.
 
TUSCAN BELLE – A post-race veterinary examination of the mare which weakened in the home straight did not reveal any significant findings.
 
FLECKERL – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages until 800m.
 
OBER PURKLA – Jumped awkwardly, shifted in abruptly near the 300m.
 
 
Race 2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY RIGBY Class 4 Handicap 1350 metres
 
MOONAN ME – Jumped awkwardly.
 
ALATAR – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RICHETTI – Jumped awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
RIP CITY – Hampered at the start when bumped by RICHETTI.
 
 
Race 3: ENCRYPTION FIRST YEARLINGS AT MAGIC MILLIONS Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
THE POWER OF ONE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
STARZAM – Slow to begin.
 
MISS JEDI – Reared at the start resulting in rider A Patis becoming dislodged. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any findings. Co-trainer Corey Geran was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the mare before racing again.
 
KINETIC – Held up in the early part of the home straight.
 
SOUNDS DIVINE – Raced three wide throughout.
 
ASTUTE – Restrained in the early stages from the wide barrier to gain a position closer to the rail.
 
 
Race 4: TAB VENUE MODE BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1200 metres
 
SHINSHINTO became fractious behind the barriers and dislodged rider A Patis. The gelding then galloped a significant distance and was ordered a late scratching at 3.22pm on veterinary advice. All monies invested on SHINSHINTO were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to all successful were subject to the following deductions:
 
1st – FANAAR – 5 Cents Win – 2 cents Place
2nd – PURRONI – 7 Cents
3rd – MAYA BAY – 6 Cents
 
XANTHUS – Over-raced in the early stages. Held up for clear running in the home straight until near the 150m.
 
FANAAR (NZ) – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
MAYA BAY – Carried wider inside 100m.
 
PURRONI – Hampered at start. Obliged to alter course near the 100m to avoid the heels IN AWE OF ME.
 
IN AWE OF ME- Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Apprentice J Lloyd was unable to explain today’s disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.
 
Apprentice A Patis was examined by the club doctor and cleared to fulfil her remaining rides.
 
Race 5: THE BOB RUSSELL RONA PUNTER Class 2 Handicap 1640 metres
 
ECHO POINT – Over-raced in the early stages when racing three wide.
 
LOUIS JANUARY – Eased off heels near the 1000m.
 
EVITA LA VIE – Inclined to lay in soon after straightening and became awkward at the heels of ECHO POINT. Disappointed for clear running inside the 100m.
 
APPLICATIONS (NZ) – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
VALLEY OF DREAMS – Raced three wide throughout.
 
ZOU ZOU KACANARKIS – Inconvenienced after the start.
 
DAINTREE DIVA -Jumped awkwardly.
 
EDINBURGH – Held up in the home straight and was disappointed for a run near the 200m.
 
THE FAIRYTALE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
 
Race 6: WRITTEN BY - 1ST YEARLINGS SELLING 2022 BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1640 metres
 
Stewards approved R McMahon to ride SNIPPETSPEED as there were no apprentices available.
 
SOUTHERN SWING – Restrained in the early stages to gain a position closer to the rail.  Rider N Rawiller explained the slow tempo today in the early in middle stages and he wasn’t disappointed with the performance of the gelding.
 
SNIPPETSPEED – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
PRINNY'S SUCCESS – Slow to begin. Apprentice L Kilner explained that the slow tempo of the didn’t suit the mare today.
 
 
Race 7: MAGIC MILLIONS INSPECTIONS START TODAY RATINGS BAND 0 - 70 Handicap 1050 metres
 
HARD ROCK GIRL – Jumped awkwardly and soon afterwards threw its head back and contacted rider Ben Thompson.
 
COSSIE -Raced three wide throughout.
 
PHOENIX RIVER – Held up in the early part of the home straight
