SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Doomben 9th April 2022 – Race 9 Class 6 Hdcp.
 
In the presence of master A Erhart, app W Peel, rider of PARKO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 800m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of CARDIFF which was taken in, crowding the room of DR WHY NOT which had to be checked. The licence of W Peel to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 16th April up to and including midnight 24th April.
 
GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
Race 1: CAPITAL GIRL – J Huxtable - 56kgs (+1kg)
 
Race 1: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1660 metres
 
BLAZEN BOOTS (NZ) – The bubble cheeker on the horse was refitted on arrival behind the barriers. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
ENUNCIATION – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced three wide in the early stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader from the 1200m.
 
ZIPJAK – Over-raced in the early stages. When asked to comment on the performance B Stewart reported the horse travelled to the 600m however when placed under pressure a short distance later failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. Trainer L Hatch advised Stewards the horse would now be sent for a spell.
 
CAPITAL GIRL – Fractious prior to being loaded into the barriers. Slow to begin.
 
SWEAR ON A PROMISE – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before shifting to the outside of WITCH DAY to obtain clear running passing the 200m.
 
VANCITY – Raced wide from the 800m before being taken wider from the 600m when ZIPJAK shifted out to improve.
 
 
Race 2: SKY RACING Maiden Handicap 1050 metres
 
RISING PROPHET – Raced three wide in the early stages of the event. When asked to comment on the performance rider K Wilson-Taylor reported from the wide barrier he was obliged to pressure the horse in the early stages to obtain a forward position and that this had a detrimental effect on overall performance of RISING PROPHET over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
D'ESPRIT – Raced three wide throughout.
 
ARTIE'S DESTINY – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
BARBARY ROYALE – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: ROBINSON NIELSEN LEGAL Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
DIAMOND BEANS – Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
MAGIC BOOM – At the start from the wide barrier was restrained to a rearward position closer to the rails. Approaching the 200m obliged to shift to the inside of SKOOZI’S FLYER to obtain clear running.
 
MASTER TYLER (NZ) – Raced wide with cover throughout the event.
 
SKOOZI'S FLYER – Jumped out at the start.
 
THE POWER OF ONE – Shifted out under pressure near the 100m.
 
VANBLITZEM – Slow to begin.
 
WORD FROM ABOVE – Checked at the start between SKOOZI’S FLYER which jumped out and LOVELIER which jumped in.
 
YES WE'RE READY – Change of tactics, more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
LOVELIER – Jumped in at the start. Over-raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Bumped near the 100m by DA PARTY GIRL which was taken out by THE POWER OF ONE which shifted out under pressure.
 
 
Race 4: STRADBROKE SEASON ON SALE NOW Class 3 Handicap 1660 metres
 
SPIRIT'S CHARM – Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
AUSBRED COOEE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
TAAFFEITE (NZ) – Rider K Wilson-Taylor dropped his whip approaching the finishing line.
 
EPICURIOUS – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5: CASCADE Class 1 Handicap 1050 metres
 
UNCLE RUSS – Jumped out at the start and bumped with I’M A FOXY GIRL. Passing the 800m, when over-racing, improved to the inside of the heels of I’M A FOZXY GIRL and had to be restrained. Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
CAMPAI – Raced three wide in the early stages. Approaching the 600m when inclined to over-race, was taken and had to be steadied from the heels of UNCLE RUSS shifted in when not fully clear. A Mallyon, rider of UNCLE RUSS, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
RELIABLE RUBY (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
I'M A FOXYGIRL – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with UNCLE RUSS.
 
 
Race 6: BRC CARNIVAL PLUS MEMBERSHIP Fillies and Mares
BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
NORTHERN WILDEROSE – App C Graham, rider of NORTHERN WILDEROSE, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
THINK GLORY – Over-raced for some distance leaving the 800m.
 
TUDOR MUSIC – Bumped by DANCING DOLLAR at the start.
 
KOKOPO KITTY – Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of TUDOR MAGIC near the 200m before shifting out to improve.
 
LOVE MY SUPER – Raced there wide for the majority of the event.
 
DANCING DOLLAR – Jumped in at the start and bumped TUDOR MUSIC.
 
HEDONIE – Raced three wide from the 700m.
 
 
Race 7: XXXX DRY BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1350 metres
 
FAST TALKING – Bumped at the start.
 
MOUNTBATTEN – Jumped in at the start and bumped FAST TALKING. Near the 1000m when being restrained to obtain cover, was inclined to over-race and had to be restrained from the heels of MAGIC IN ME. T Harrison, rider of MAGIC IN ME, was advised to exercise care in similar circumstances.
 
EXPERT EYE – Following the disappointing performance trainer K Schweida advised it was now his intention to spell the mare.
 
 
Race 8: IPCQ Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
LA AMIGO – App L Kilner was dislodged from the horse on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. L Kilner was examined by the Club doctor and cleared of any injury.
 
SHADOW OF TIME – Passing the 900m over-raced for a short distance when being restrained to obtained cover.
 
HE KNOWS – Slow to begin.
 
TITANIUM – At the start from the wide barrier was restrained to a rearward position closer to the rail.
 
CHEVY NOVA – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
THATFEELSBETTER – Began awkwardly. Held for clear running for the majority of the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested by its rider.
 
BLOOD THUNDER – Rider J Orman reported he felt something was amiss with the horse in the home straight and for this reason he elected to ease BLOOD THUNDER over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to suffering from heat stress and showing signs of the thumps. Trainer B Healy was advised BLOOD THUNDER must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
