BOOVEY – Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced leaving the 1100m when EXPOSITION shifted out abruptly whilst over racing.

EXPOSITION – Over raced approaching the 1200m when being restrained to find cover. Approaching the 1000m when racing keenly at heels shifted out abruptly. When asked to comment, jockey R. Maloney reported that the gelding had a tendency to over race and also raced greenly which he attributed to the slow early tempo. He further added that EXPOSITION was one-paced in its finishing effort.

STAR OF ROBIGLEN – Shifted out on jumping and bumped BEASTICON.

TRANSATLANTIC – Began awkwardly. Had a tendency to race greenly and over raced throughout.

BLACK MINTO – As jockey M. Harley was unable to make the allotted 55kg, he was replaced by jockey A. Thompson. Jockey Harley was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.

Race 2: CASCADE Maiden Plate 1050 metres

BRIGHT REALM – Began awkwardly.

JACKSON ON TIME – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

LOADED GUN – Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight and at a point leaving the 200m became awkward in its action and was then eased by its rider over the concluding stages. Underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

KING KRYPTOS – Slow to begin. Disappointed for a run to the inside of BETTER OFF SINGLE approaching the 200m and was obliged to shift outwards to secure clear running.

I WANT THAT MAN – Approaching the winning post raced in restricted room and was awkwardly placed at the heels of JACKSON ON TIME which was laying in.

BETTER OFF SINGLE – Began very awkwardly making contact with the outside barrier partition. Lost the near hind plate in running.

Race 3: XXXX DRY QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1050 metres

BEAUTANTES – Jockey M. Du Plessis reported that the gelding raced greenly whilst leading and would take benefit from the race day experience. Jockey Du Plessis was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m. Mr Du Plessis was also reprimanded (x 2) for using his whip consecutively on two occasions prior to the 100m – AR132(7)(a)(i).

HE'S FOR THE GIRLS – Approaching the 1000m, had to be steadied from the heels of BEAUTANTES which shifted in when racing greenly. Rider M. Du Plessis (rider of BEAUTANTES) was nonetheless, reminded of his obligations regarding horses shifting ground. When asked to comment on the performance trainer Mr J. Edwards advised that the gelding had been working and trialling well leading into the event, and he also attributed the improved performance to the removal of blinkers and the addition of a crossover noseband which he was of the opinion, allowed the gelding to race more generously.

PACIFIED – Slow to begin.

THE PUNISHER – Began awkwardly.

THREDBO – Raced greenly in the early stages. Trainer Mr S. Jokic was advised that a warning will placed on the filly’s barrier manners after being difficult to load.

Bruce when questioned confirmed these instructions, however, Mr Bruce was reminded of his obligations regarding perceived changes in tactics.
