Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey R. Maloney the rider of the second placed MAKE A CALL against RASHFORD (M. Harley) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 100m. Stewards after hearing evidence from the relevant parties and viewing the official stewards patrol footage, found that two incidents of contact occurred, the first initial contact being made by RASHFORD which shifted out abruptly at point approaching the 100m, and continued to shift outwards for some distance, causing MAKE A CALL to become unbalanced and be forced wider on the track. At a point leaving the 50m, MAKE A CALL then shifted in momentarily and brushed with RASHFORD. Considering the significant ground MAKE A CALL was taken off its rightful running near the 100m, the final margin between the runners at the conclusion of the event and how both runners finished the race off, Stewards were satisfied that had this incident not have occurred that MAKE A CALL would have finished ahead of RASHFORD at the conclusion of the event and therefore the objection was upheld and correct weight was given on the numbers 9 – 8 – 4 – 11.

ZAHER (NZ) – Crowded for room and lost ground shortly after the start. Raced in restricted room near the 1300m.

RASHFORD – Held up from the 600m until leaving the 400m. Approaching the 100m, shifted out and contacted MAKE A CALL. Leaving the 50m was brushed by MAKE A CALL.

Approaching the 100m, was bumped heavily and taken wider for a number of strides by RASHFORD, which shifted out under riding. Jockey M.
