Race 1: THE RASCAL – Trainer W. Bannerot advised Stewards that upon further examination by the stable veterinarian, the filly was found to be lame on its off hindleg and will now be sent for a spell.
GENERAL
Prior to Race 1, Stewards inspected the track and upgraded it to a Good 4 at 12:40pm.
Trainer J. Healy was reprimanded pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch ELUSIVE DOMINA by the prescribed time which was a dual acceptor in races 2 and 3. In determining penalty stewards considered Mr. Healy’s prior record regarding this rule.
Race 1: RACECOURSE VILLIAGE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1350 M
SLIPSAIN – Shifted in leaving the 1300m and contacted the hindquarters of ON THE THRONE before then being directed outwards by that runner after ON THE THRONE became unbalanced. When asked to comment on the tactics adopted today, Jockey D. Moor reported that it was not his intention to settle in a leading position, however after beginning well and being unable to secure cover early, he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and obtain a position outside of the lead.
ELROND – Approaching the 400m, laid out before being corrected by its rider.
ON THE THRONE – Leaving the 1300m had its hindquarters contacted by SLIPSLAIN and as a result became unbalanced. Over-raced in the early stages and approaching the 900m had to be steadied when the pace of the race slackened. Laid out rounding the home turn.
ABLESHEEBA – Slow to begin.
MISS HIGHFALUTIN –. Leaving the 1300m was inconvenienced when SLIPSAIN was carried outwards by ON THE THRONE. Over-raced in the early stages and approaching the 900m had to be steadied when the pace of the race slackened. When asked to comment on the tactics adopted today, Jockey A. Jones reported that after beginning fairly, from a wide barrier her mount failed to muster any early gate speed and when other runners showed speed she then elected to restrain and take cover resulting in the mare settling towards the rear of the field.
MY CHARM – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages and approaching the 900m had to be steadied when the pace of the race slackened. Continued to over-race in the middle stages. Approaching the 400m, had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of ELROND, when that runner laid out before being corrected.
TAPAGAL – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before shifting inwards near the 250m to secure clear running.
BRITISH GEM – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Momentarily became awkwardly placed at the heels of ON THE THRONE rounding the home turn.
PEAK MISS – Restrained from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the rail. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 250m and the 150m.
Race 2: THE GIBSON MAIDEN PLATE 1110 M
JE REVE – Near the 600m, had to be steadied when tightened for room by MAJOR HOT.
TORQUE TO BE SURE – Commenced to race ungenerously when being steadied near the 700m. Improved onto heels near the 600m, shifted out and raced wide from that point onwards. Laid in under pressure approaching the winning post.
URBAN LAD – Slow to begin. Raced wide. Laid out whilst weaking in the home straight. When asked to comment on URBAN LAD, Jockey M. Harley could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Co- trainer C. Munce stated that he was also disappointed in the performance of URBAN LAD and would have the stable veterinarian examine the gelding in the coming days and report back to Stewards any significant findings.
WOOTTEN HYDE – Bumped on jumping away.
ELUSIVE DOMINA – Slow to begin. Over-raced whilst being restrained in the early stages. Commenced to hang out near the 800m. Raced greenly approaching the 600m. Jockey J. Bayliss reported at scale that his mount was inclined to hang out from the 800m to the 600m.
MAJOR HOT – Began awkwardly and bumped WOOTTEN HYDE. Raced greenly in the middle stages and shifted in near the 600m before being corrected by its rider.
Race 3: BECOME A BRC MEMBER QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
CELTIC BRAVE – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. Trainer J. Bruce was advised that a warning would now be placed on the gelding in relation to its racing manners.
EXCELBOOM – Jockey R. Maloney reported that his mount became under pressure leaving the 600m and also had a tendency to hang in. He further added that the gelding over-raced in the early stages and in his opinion EXCELBOOM may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer T. Gollan advised that he would consider making changes to the geldings gear prior to its next start and would report back on the condition of EXCELBOOM in the subsequent days.
CARBONARA – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced approaching the 1000m. Raced wide throughout. Near the 250m shifted out under pressure before being corrected by its rider.
CRASH THE PARTY – Over-raced approaching the 900m. Inconvenienced and held up leaving the 600m on the heels of the weakening EXCELBOOM.
DESANTO – Slow to begin. Over-raced early and near the 1000m, improved onto heels before shifting wider and being allowed to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 700m. Raced greenly in the home straight.
CIRQUE DE LA VIE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced approaching the 900m.
Race 4: LADBROKES QUICK MULTI BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 2030 M
The start of this event was delayed approximately 3 mins owing to OLE BAZZLE having to have its tongue tie adjusted behind the barriers.
AROUND THE BUOY – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide with cover for the majority.
KERKORIAN – Began awkwardly.
LET’S DO IT AGAIN – Bumped on jumping and was then hampered shortly after. Raced wide throughout. Apprentice J. Franklin reported that after being inconvenienced shortly after the start he then elected to attempt to secure a mid-field position with cover however was unable to do so and was obliged to race wide for the remainder of the event.
PIERRE CARDINNIGAN – Leaving the 300m, was heavily contacted and became severely unbalanced when KERKORIAN was directed outwards to improve. Jockey J. Bayliss the rider of KERKORIAN was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding, the particulars of the charge being that leaving the 300m under riding he directed his mount out abruptly around the heels of STEEL IMPACT, making heavy contact with PIERRE CARDINNIGAN (C. Vitler), resulting in that runner becoming severely unbalanced, forced off its rightful running line and Apprentice C. Vitler becoming unbalanced in the saddle and also causing KERKORIAN to become severely unbalanced. Jockey J. Bayliss had his license to ride in races suspended for a period of 14 days commencing midnight the 22nd of November and concluding midnight the 6th of December 2025. Jockey J. Bayliss was advised of his right of appeal.
GULF OF TOMINI – Slow to begin and shifted in behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail.
OLE BAZZLE – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with LET’S DO IT AGAIN. Over-raced early. Whilst weakening, when leaving the 600m, was tightened for room between KERKORIAN and AUTUNNO. Jockey M. Rodd reported at scale that his mount became agitated prior to the start and had a tendency to hang out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer G. Duncan was advised that OLE BAZZLE would be required to officially trial prior to racing again.
AUTUNNO – Near the 1000m, shifted wider and raced wide with cover thereafter.
STEEL IMPACT – Rider D. Thornton reported that it wasn’t his intention to lead however from the wide barrier he elected to allow the mare to stride forward to the leading position leaving the 1600m rather than being caught wide.
Race 5: ROAD TO MAGIC MILLIONS BOOK NOW BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1110M
CUSTO – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout.
ACAPPELLA SUN – Held up on entering the home straight until approaching the 200m. Became awkwardly placed at the heels of CORRUPTED near the 150m and was obliged to alter course.
DETRIMENTAL – Bumped shortly after the start. Over-raced leaving the 900m.
THE GAMBLING GREEK – Buffeted between runners at the start.
MOULIN MISS – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped THE GAMBLING GREEK. Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
CORRUPTED – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 6: SKY RACING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD & FOUR-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200M
PALEFACE RINGO – Bumped at the start. Leaving the 800m, was inconvenienced and forced wider when FIRE BOMBER shifted out. Raced wide throughout.
ZHENG YOU – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shifted out under pressure approaching the 200m. Jockey M. Savva was reminded of her obligations to make greater effort to stop and straighten her mounts when they commence to shift ground.
ABENDER – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 200m was obliged to alter course after improving onto the heels of ZHENG YOU.
NORTH POLE – Leaving the 800m, was inconvenienced and forced wider when FIRE BOMBER shifted out. Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
FIRE BOMBER – Trainer T. Edmonds was reprimanded pursuant AR106(2)for presenting FIRE BOMBER to the mounting yard without pre-race earmuffs, before being directed to apply them as per the geldings approved race day gear. Bumped with PALEFACE RINGO on jumping away. Leaving the 800m improved onto heels and shifted out, carrying PALEFACE RINGO and NORTH POLE wider on the track. Raced three wide from the 700m. Near the 50m, was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of NORTH POLE when that runner laid out.
Race 7: XXXX GOLD CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1350M
EXPLOSIVE TYCOON – Inconvenienced near the 500m when BOLSHEVIC ROAD shifted out when being steadied.
BREEZIN’ – Laid in leaving the 100m.
ROMANTIC BUBBLE – Raced wide. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. A post-race sample was collected.
NITROGEN – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
BOLSHEVIC ROAD – Improved onto heels near the 500m and had to be steadied.
HAMILTON BROWN – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room near the 1000m when EVERY HEART was racing tight to the inside of SHORTCUT. Jockey A. Mallyon the rider of SHORTCUT was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
SPIRIT OF NURAI – Race wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in its off foreleg. Trainer M. Goodwin was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to racing again.
EVERY HEART – Near the 1000m was crowded for room by SHORTCUT. Held up rounding the home turn. Bumped SHORTCUT near the 300m.
SHORTCUT – Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 300m was bumped by EVERY HEART. Near the 50m, clipped heels and severely blundered when EVERY HEART shifted out when insufficiently clear. Jockey D. Moor the rider of EVERY HEART was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding, the particulars of the charge being that near the 50m, as the rider of EVERY HEART he permitted EVERY HEART to shift out under riding into the running line of SHORTCUT (A. Mallyon) and as a result that runner clipped heels, blundered and lost its rightful running. Jockey D. Moor had his license to ride in races suspended for a period of 13 days, commencing midnight the 22nd of November and concluding midnight the 5th of December 2025. Jockey D. Moor was advised of his right of appeal.
BLONDE ON BLONDE – Raced wide. Leaving the 300m, was inconvenienced and was obliged to shift wider when ROMANTIC BUBBLE shifted out under pressure.
READY FOR AIMEE – Began awkwardly.
Race 8: LADBROKES POPULAR SRM BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1630M
THE IRISH – Bumped on jumping away.
PREPOTENT – Over-raced leaving the 1000m when the pace of the race steadied.
BOVIDAE – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SANCTUARY STORM.
TORO STRIKE – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped THE IRISH. Improved onto hells near the 900m, shifted out and bumped HELL’S ITCH. Obliged to alter course near the 250m to secure clear running.
TYPHOON TIP – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. When asked to comment on the tactics adopted today, Apprentice R. Thorburn explained that his instructions were to ride the mare forward as it had previously been slow to muster early speed. Trainer N. Hemmings stated that these were the instructions given recently to riders of the mare and when racing at 1600m last preparation, the mare had settled in a forward position. Stewards strongly reminded Trainer N. Hemmings regarding her obligations pursuant to AR 100(1)(a) in that she must notify Stewards if a horse is to be ridden in a manner different to its most recent start.
HE’SGOTTHESAY – Over-raced leaving the 1000m when the pace of the race steadied. Raced wide for the majority.
HELL’S ITCH – Approaching the 900m was bumped by TORO STRIKE and raced wide with cover thereafter.
SANCTUARY STORM – Began awkwardly and bumped BOVIDAE. Over-raced early.
