GENERAL
Trainer D. Murphy was fined $100 pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor CYBER CITY in Race 7 by the prescribed time.
 

 
RACE 1: RACECOURSE VILLAGE BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP         1600 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow trainer L. Gough and jockey M. Rodd to view the Stewards patrol footage to ascertain whether there was ground to lodge an objection.  
 
LOGAN STREET LION (NZ) – Passing the 600m, attempted to shift out to improve and after contacting BEST COFFEE was disappointed and obliged to race in restricted room for a number of strides.
 
BLACKLIST (NZ) – Raced wide from the 800m. Near the 600m, momentarily inconvenienced after being contacted by BEST COFFEE who was carried out by LOGAN STREET LION, which shifted out in an attempt to improve. Apprentice C. Sutherland, rider of LOGAN STREET LION, was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RAMP IT UP – Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight when contacted by SARRISMO which shifted out marginally.
 
SARRISMO – Raced wide until the 900m.
 
BEST COFFEE – Passing the 600m, buffeted on a number of occasions when racing between LOGAN STREET LION and BLACKLIST.
 
 
RACE 2: THE GIBSON OPEN HANDICAP         1600 Metres
 
SEA KING (GB) – Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 1500m. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
ANEMACORE (NZ) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LIVING FREE – Over raced in the early stages. Rider J. Bayliss reported that in his opinion, the gelding is better suited being ridden with cover. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
NAVAL SEAL – Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
BATTLETON – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced in the early stages. Momentarily inconvenienced and carried wider passing the 250m by DEMON DARB which shifted out to improve.
 
 
RACE 3: LADBROKES RACING EXTRAS IN MULTI CLASS 3 PLATE          1350 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 3 minutes when VOS SAVANT underwent a veterinary examination after the mare kicked out in the barriers, and was removed then cleared to start.
 
BOOM SHOT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
DANXIA (NZ) – Shifted out over the concluding stages and approaching the winning post contacted GLASS OF ROSE.
 
OUTAKANDY – Over raced in the middle stages. Held up for clear running passing the 200m. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted and in particular, if there was an opportunity to improve into a run between CYBER CITY and BOLLINGER MISS, jockey Mallyon stated when approaching the 200m, he was mindful of the weakening CYBER CITY and when weighing up his options, he was of the opinion that there was insufficient room to improve into a run between CYBER CITY and BOLLINGER MISS, therefore he committed to shifting out around the heels of CYBER CITY, however when doing so, CYBER CITY rolled out marginally resulting in OUTAKANDY becoming awkwardly placed outside the heels of the gelding, halting the momentum of OUTAKANDY. Stewards noted jockey Mallyon’s comments. Cast the right hind plate.
 
GRAMMAR LAD – Over raced in the middle stages.
 
FRENCH ENDEAVOUR – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages contacting GLASS OF ROSE approaching the winning post.
 
GLASS OF ROSE – Change of tactics – attempt to settle further forward if circumstances permit. After beginning awkwardly, settled in a midfield position. Raced wide throughout. Hampered approaching the winning post when racing in restricted room between FRENCH ENDEAVOUR which shifted in and DANXIA which shifted out.
 
VOS SAVANT – Over raced in the middle stages.
 
BOLLINGER MISS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 1100m.
 
SPACEBALLS – Over raced in the middle stages. Held up entering and passing the 300m obliged to shift in to improve. Obliged to alter course over the final 50m and shifted out to improve.
 
CYBER CITY – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right hindleg. Trainer D. Murphy was advised that CYBER CITY will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
CAPTAIN EAGLE – Began awkwardly.  
 
CAST PARTY (GB) – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after contacting the rail on entering the track and cleared to start. Raced wide throughout. Jockey B. Thompson reported that the mare was under pressure from the 400m and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer S. Kendrick reported that the mare had pleased in a recent trial since joining his stable and he was disappointed with today’s effort. He also added that he would experiment with gear and with the potential addition of a tongue tie prior to next start. Trainer S. Kendrick further added that the mare would be examined by the stable veterinarian in the coming days and report back to Stewards any relevant findings.
 
 
RACE 4: BECOME A BRC MEMBER COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP        1200 Metres
 
ESTRONDO – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until approaching the 150m.
 
FIRST MISSION – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
KING JESTER – Raced wide throughout.
 
DIS IS HEAVEN – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Over raced in the middle stages.  
 
STAR RAPPER – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider J. Bayliss reported that it was his intention to settle further forward, however after beginning awkwardly he was obliged to settle further back.
 
 
RACE 5: XXXX OPEN HANDICAP          2000 Metres
 
GLORY DAZE (IRE) – A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
WARP SPEED – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ZOOLOGY (GB) – As apprentice R. Thorburn was overweight he was replaced by apprentice C. Baker. Apprentice Thorburn was reprimanded pursuant to AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim his full allowance.   
 
QUEEN AIR – Raced wide throughout. Forced wider by BRINDAVAN near the 1100m.   
 
BRINDAVAN (IRE) – Obliged to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of ZOOLOGY which improved to a leading position passing the winning post on the first occasion. Apprentice C. Baker, rider of ZOOLOGY, was advised to exercise greater care. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 1100m, allowed to shift wider after improving onto the heels of GLORY DAZE whilst over racing, then improved to a position outside the leader passing the 800m.
 
THAT'S MOLLY – Obliged to alter course passing the 250m to improve into clear running.
 
 
RACE 6: STRADBROKE SEASON ON SALE NOW BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP           2200 Metres
 
KIPLING’S JOURNEY – A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
CLYDE – Raced wide in the early stages. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
PUNJABI LANDING – Stood flat footed as the start was effected and was slow into stride. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and obliged to shift in to improve. Rider M. Rodd reported than the gelding was inclined to hang out in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
LIBERTY PARK (NZ) – Had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200m and raced in restricted room for a short distance.
 
LOVEY DOVEY – Slow to begin.
 
MR O'REILLY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Leaving the 1300m, allowed to stride forward and take up a position outside the lead passing the 1200m.
 
 
RACE 7: MORETON HIRE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD AND FOUR-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP           1350 Metres
 
TRUE AMOR – Began awkwardly. When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice C. Bellamy reported that the gelding was disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
BLITZBURG – Raced wide throughout. Shifted out approaching the 1200m carrying SPECIAL ARTIST wider on the track.
 
I'M HEROIC – Raced in restricted room passing the 50m between SPECIAL ARTIST and BLANTONS RUN which shifted in before being corrected.
 
AMUSEANTES – Began awkwardly and bumped.  Leaving the 1200m, became awkward on the heels of SPECIAL ARTIST which shifted in to obtain cover. Began awkwardly and bumped. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and passing the 250m shifted in to attempt to obtain clear running. Approaching the 100m, disappointed for a run between TRUE AMOR and Thompson resulting in the mare becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of TRUE AMOR halting the mare’s momentum. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
DRAGONNE ROUGE – Began awkwardly then hampered between runners.  
 
SPECIAL ARTIST – Inconvenienced and forced wider leaving the 1200m. Held up for clear running passing the 150m and after improving into a narrow run passing the 100m had its hindquarters contacted whilst racing in restricted room. A post race veterinary examination revealed several lacerations to both hindlimbs consistent with being galloped on, and was treated by the oncourse veterinarian.
 
IRAMA – Bumped on jumping.
 
TOMBA – Slow to begin.
 
BLANTONS RUN – Over raced in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and passing the 100m, obliged to stop and straighten. Laid in over the final 50m.
 
KOKATAHI (NZ) – Bumped on jumping.
 
 
RACE 8: SKY RACING BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP          1350 Metres
 
CASTILLIAN (NZ) – Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
GERIATRIX – Shifted out on jumping and heavily bumped with SULTRY SIREN.
 
MISSISSIPPI PRINCE – Change of tactics – to settle further back if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
SER JOH – Began awkwardly.
 
ZONDEE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider M. Rodd reported that the gelding made a respiratory noise on pulling up. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however trainers’ representative was advised that ZONDEE would require a endoscopic examination prior to racing again.
 
GREAT ASPIRATIONS (NZ) – Bumped on jumping.
 
SULTRY SIREN – Buffeted between runners on jumping.
 
THINKHARDANDFAST – When asked to comment on the performance, rider B. Thompson reported that the gelding raced fresh today being first up since November 2025 which was detrimental to its finishing effort.
 
PHENOM – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced in middle stages. Obliged to alter course on entering the home straight and shift wider to improve.
 
 
RACE 9: LADBROKES POPULAR SRM FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP        1200 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow connections of the fourth placed BLUE SPINEL to view the Stewards patrol footage over the concluding stages before deciding not to lodge an objection.
 
BLUE SPINEL – Contacted and checked from heels of CINDERSEA at the 50m. Apprentice J. Franklin, rider of CINDERSEA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in the he allowed his mount to shift out under riding when insufficiently clear of BLUE SPINEL, and as a result contacting BLUE SPINEL, causing that runner to check and lose its rightful running. Apprentice J. Franklin’s license to ride in races was suspended for 15 days commencing midnight the 28th of March 2026 and ending on midnight the 12th of April 2026. Apprentice Franklin was advised of his right of appeal.
 
DOMINANT DARCY – Cast the right fore plate. Apprentice E. Lang reported that her mount raced flat today, and in her opinion, may have come to the end of its preparation. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer’s representative C. Cavanagh advised Stewards he will report back on the mare’s condition in the days subsequent.
 
LADY SHOTGUN – Slow to begin.
 
SAVAGERY VIBE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MERCURIAL LADY – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
PETITE PALACE – Began awkwardly.
 
DREAM LANTERN – Over raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the left hindleg. Trainer M. Currie was advised that DREAM LANTERN will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
CAPITAL DIVA – Raced wide throughout.
