SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Sunshine Coast 11.7.21  Race 3 – SEQUESAY
Co Trainer T Sears reported that x-rays undertaken revealed a pelvic fracture and the filly would now be sent for a spell.
 
 
GENERAL
 
As apprentice W Peel was not riding at today’s meeting and Bobby El-Issa was unwell and unable to fulfil his engagement, Stewards permitted riding changes were as per the Raceday Summary.
 
 
Race 1: TAB Venue Mode Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
 
BELLICIOUS – Slow into stride. Overraced in the early stages of the event. Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
BRILLIANTLY – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
KOLLUR – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
 
MILAGRO – Began awkwardly.
 
 
 
 
 
Race 2: Wilko Building Class 4 Handicap 1300 metres
 
 
REBEL ROCK – Laid out under pressure over the final 300m.
 
MCCOVEY COVE – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight before obtaining clear running near the 250m.
 
MONTEZ – Began awkwardly, then was pressured by the rider to improve three wide before obtaining the lead near the 900m.
 
 
Race 3: Wilko Painting Fillies and Mares BM65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
PRINCESS KAYO (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
DEJANOVA – Fractious in the enclosure, reared up and slipped over. After arriving at the barriers underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Overraced in the early stages.
 
DIVINE DECADENCE – Began awkwardly. Weakened in the home straight finishing a distant  last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer H Page was advised that the mare would be barred for a period of three months and must gallop 1000m in the presence of Stewards prior to being permitted to trial or race again.
 
 
 
Race 4: Wilko Patios Colts, Geldings and Entires BM65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
GLOCK – Bumped on the hindquarters near the 800m.
 
FIVE OXFORD – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
EL COYOTE (GB) – Hung out rounding the home turn which enabled KUDU to improve to its inside near the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to be striding short in both forelegs. Co Trainer’s J & C Meagher’s representative advised Stewards that they would have their veterinary surgeon examine the gelding and report back the findings of the examination.
 
KUDU – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 800m when racing keenly, improved between GLOCK and EL COYOTE where there was insufficient room, and shortly after made contact with the hindquarters of GLOCK. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
LEVI'S STORM – Began awkwardly.
 
THREEPOINT MISSILE – Near the 800m, when the pace steadied, had to be restrained from the heels of GLOCK.
 
OUR ROCKY – Passing the 250m had to be shifted out to avoid the heels of FIVE OXFORD to improve.
 
 
 
Race 5: Wilko Painting QTIS Three-Years-Old BM70 Handicap 1400 metres
 
 
KINGSTON'S HERE – Passing the 200m shifted in under pressure before being corrected by its rider and then approaching the winning post laid out. Rider B Northdurft reported he was unable to explain the poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which performed below market expectation failed to reveal any abnormalities. A post-race swab sample was taken for analysis.
 
REAL EMPRESS – Was restrained from the wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
NOKONDI – Near the 850m had to be checked when crowded for room by KINGSTON’S HERE which shifted in. Jockey B Nothdurft rider of KINGSTON’S HERE pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) for being careless and shifting in when insufficiently clear of NOKONDI. Jockey Nothdurft’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 25/7/21 to midnight 3/8/21.
 
 
Race 6: Wilko Painting Class 1 Handicap 1400 metres
 
 
I AM A BEAUTY – Approaching the 1100m had to be checked when tightened for room by GOLDSCHLAGER which shifted in. Jockey B Stewart rider of GOLDSCHLAGER pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) for being careless and shifting in when insufficiently clear of  I AM A BEAUTY which had to be checked and lost ground.  Jockey Stewart’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 25/7/21 to midnight 6/8/21.
When the pace steadied near the 800m had to restrained from the heels of GOLDSCHLAGER.
 
A BIG CHANCE – Reared as the start was effected and shifted out. Passing the 800m had to be restrained from the heels of SCISSORHANDS, was shifted out  and raced three wide without cover from that point. Passing the 450m was forced wider on the track by SCISSORHANDS which shifted out to improve.
 
KANALAIDE – A post race veterinary examination of the gelding which performed below market expectation failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer C Morgan advised Stewards that he would give consideration to sending KANALAIDE for a spell.
 
SCISSORHANDS – Near the 800m, when the pace steadied had to be restrained from the heels of TORRIENTE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained lacerations to both hind pasterns.
 
CALMYOURFARM – Held up in the early part of the home straight.
 
GOLDSCHLAGER – Near the 500 when attempting to improve shifted out bumping on a number of occasions with TORRIENTE.
 
ENSENADA – Hampered on jumping.
 
TORRIENTE – Bumped on a number of occasions passing the 500m.
