GENERAL
 
As B. Nothdurft was not riding at the meeting for personal reasons, riding changes were made as per the Race Day Summary sheet.
 
Due to current COVD restriction, Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
Race 6. BAANONE (NZ) - M. Cahill 54kg + 0.5kg
Race 7. JOCHBERG M. Cahill 54kg + 0.5kg
 
 
Race 1: BBHT QTIS 2YO HCP – 1000M
 
MISHANI MENTAL – Lost ground when checked to the inside of EVEN NOW at the 900m which shifted in away from LADY LAGUNA when racing tight to the inside of that filly.
 
BETTER GOLIGHTLY – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after taking hold of its rider and working strongly in the preliminary, doing a complete circuit before being pulled up. The filly was a declared a late scratching 12.45pm. Trainer D. Bougoure stated that the filly will now be sent for a spell, however he was advised that the filly must barrier trial prior to racing again. On declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on BETTER GOLIGHTLY be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
1st – LADY LAGUNA - 31c win, 24c place
2nd – GODDESS OF PEACE – 30c place
3rd – MISHANI MISTRESS – 26c place
 
EVEN NOW – Slow to begin. Shortly after passing the 800m checked and crowded when racing to the inside of LADY LAGUNA, and onto SLINKY’S STAR which shifted out and lost ground.
 
LADY LAGUNA – Had to be eased when racing greenly when placed awkwardly on the heels of SLINKY’S STAR at the 500m.
 
SHOTGUN DIVA – Slow to begin.
 
SLINKY’S STAR – Raced greenly when making the turn into the straight and was inclined to shift outwards.
 
Race 2: BOUNTY CUP C3 PLT – 1400M
 
GO WANDJI – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. Laid out over the final 100m. Cast the near hind plate in running.
 
DANEZEL – Had to be taken outwards at the 200m to obtain clear running.
 
KELLERS SHELTER – Pulled hard in the early stages.
 
 
Race 3: DD GROUP INTERNATIONAL BM75 HCP – 1840M
 
GLEN ORD – Raced wide in the early stages.

STUCK WITH YOU (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly. On jumping, jockey R. Maloney struck his right knee on the barrier partition. Following the running of the race, he was examined by the club Doctor, and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
THE MINIVAN – Carried wider near the 1000m.
 
BECANDLENI – Raced a bit keenly early and middle stages. Shifted outwards near the 1000m.
 
CONTINUATION – Caught wide in the early and middle stages and then allowed to stride forward to take up the lead near the 1200m. Laid out in the straight.
 
 
Race 4: MFL GROUP BM75 HCP – 1000M
 
 
PRAIRIE FIRE – Near the 700m had to be eased off the heels of FROZEN IN TIME and lost ground.
 
MOUNT HOREB – Inclined to lay out throughout.
 
FROZEN IN TIME – Near the 700m, when racing keenly, clipped the heels of SHAMATON, blundered, and lost ground.
 
 
Race 5: LEXUS QTIS 3YO HCP - 1400M
 
VETTA VELOCITA – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. Inclined to lay in in the straight with the rider having to stop riding to straighten his mount a number of times.
 
 
Race 6: GLOBAL ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION OPEN HCP – 1500M
 
MATOWI (NZ) – Overraced in the early stages.
 
PRIORITISE – Raced three wide without cover in the early stages. Hung inwards in the straight.
 
TOKORIKI LAD – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 7: MAS HIRE AN APPRENTICE! NMW HCP – 1400M
 
 
FOR MY ANNIE – Bumped with MIGHTY MOOSE shortly after start.
 
MAGIC CHARLEE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
PRINNY’S SUCCESS – Stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. A warning was placed on the geldings’ barrier manners.
 
NICCI’S SPIRIT – Laid out under pressure over the final 100m.
 
JAKAMA – Slow to begin.
 
MIGHTY MOOSE – Bumped with FOR MY ANNIE shortly after the start.
 
RIVER ROCKET – Was held up for clear running in the early part of the straight.
 
 
Race 8: WORKFORCE SUCCESS BM85 HCP – 1200M
 
TUMBLER RIDGE – Raced three wide with cover.
 
ROYAL WITNESS – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying signs of the thumps.
 
CRUZE – Raced three wide with cover.
 
ACROBATIC – Laid outwards.
 
DR WHY NOT – Commenced to buck shortly after the start and subsequently eased out of the race and took no competitive part in the race. Trainer S. Morrissey was advised that the gelding must trial satisfactorily prior to its next start.
 
SHE ZA BOSS – Dipped near the 700m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained a slight laceration to the near hind fetlock.
 
RUUCA – Raced three wide without cover.
 
CENTREFIRE – Momentarily steadied shortly after entering the home straight.
