On return to scale connections of third past the post DUTCH GOLD viewed the patrol footage over the concluding stages before electing to lodge a protest against first placegetter BLAZEN BOOTS alleging interference approaching the winning post. After taking evidence from connections of both runners and viewing the patrol footage Stewards found that at approximately the 50m BLAZEN BOOTS shifted out under pressure taking DUTCH GOLD wider on the track, however bearing in mind the proximity to the winning post where the incident took place and the margin, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that DUTCH GOLD would have finished ahead of BLAZEN BOOTS and the protest was dismissed.
