Race 1: ZOUSAIN FIRST YEARLINGS IN 2023 QTIS 2YO Plate 1000 metres
 
Mishani Renegade– Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Passing the 800m had to be eased off the heels of MISHANI RAIDER which shifted in abruptly and overraced for a shoft distance after. Held up for a short distance on entering the home straight.
 
Magic Of Milo- Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after racing within the past seven days and was cleared to start. Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Mishani Valour – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Mishani Twilight – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Mishani Mystique – Jumped away awkwardly. Carried wider on entering the home straight.
 
Mishani Cienna – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after racing within the past seven days and was cleared to start. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 2: MACMAHON C,G&E CLASS 3 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Argyle Lane – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider accidently dropped whip passing the 50m.
 
Zavaboom – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out rounding the turn.
 
He’s The News – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Passing the 1000m had to be steadied after shifting out onto heels.
 
Ready For Anything -Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Enabler – Passing the 800m had to be steadied after improving onto heels.
 
Green Legend – Passing the 200m became awkwardly placed on heels while weakening.
 
 
Race 3: TRIDENT SERVICES AUSTRALIA CUP F&M CLASS 3 Handicap
1200 metres
 
Better Get Set – Commenced to overrace when racing in restricted room passing the 800m to the inside of AMORE VELOCE which shifted in. Apprentice J Cornish, rider of AMORE VELOCE, was advised to take greater car when shifting ground in future. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Amore Veloce – Lost off hind plate in running. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.
 
Deep Rouge – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight approaching the 150m was disappointed for a narrow run and was obliged to shift in to improve.  
 
Race 4: LITE N’ EASY BENCHMARK 90 Handicap
2212 metres
 
Barade (FR) – Slow to begin. Rider reported that his mount raced flat. Trainer J Bruce reported that BARADE will be sent for a freshen up.
 
Painted Black – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Traduce – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Port Mourant – Overraced in the middle stages of the event.
 
Race 5: Channel 7 NMW Handicap 1400 metres
 
Deep Breath – Rider reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding and ran to the line in a disappointing manner.
 
Cold Hard Fact – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Rejoiced – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 6: HIGGINS COATINGS QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1600 metres
 
Brookhaven – Rider reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding and ran to the line in a disappointing manner.
 
Honkytonk Diva – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Matriarch Rose – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Lady Le Da – Hampered and carried wider passing the 300m by UNCOMMON VALOUR which shifted out to improve. Jockey B Thompson, rider of UNCOMMON VALOUR, was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a).
 
Uncommon Valour – Raced in restricted room on entering the home straight to the inside of HONKYTONK DIVA and as a result shifted wider to improve.
 
Four Mile Lane – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Passing the 700m had to be eased after improving onto the heels of MATRIARCH ROSE.
 
Race 7: CANADIAN CLUB QTIS 3-Y-O BM72 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Thelwell – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Jemeldi – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Passing the 500m shifted wider after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of PALAZZO SPIRIT.
 
Palazzo Spirit – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
Acappella Sun – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 600m.
 
Bring Me Kash – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Bulikov – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Tequila Dancer – Passing the 500m was carried wider on the track by JEMELDI, which shifted out while overracing
 
 
Race 8: XXXX Benchmark 78 Handicap 1000m metres
 
Pizonie – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.
 
Dare To Share – Slow into stride. Disappointed for a run passing the 350m and was obliged to shift wider in an attempt to improve. Passing the 200m was again held up and as a result shifted in and was able to obtain clear running inside the 100m.
 
Rainbow Connection – Stewards gave permission for the late removal of the Norton bit for the gelding gear. Trainer M Dunn was reprimanded under the provisions of AR206(3). Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Release The Beans – Rider reported that his mount travelled well throughout the event but when asked for an effort his mount failed to quicken as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Dragon Miss – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 800m when racing to the inside of PIZONIE.
 
Vast Kama – Carried wider on the track passing the 500m.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3 retrospective to race 8.
 
Race 9: PADUA COLLEGE CUP Open Handicap 1400 metres
 
Emerald Kingdom – Laid out rounding the turn passing the 800m.
 
Last Chance – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Greyworm – Laid in rounding the turn passing the 800m. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding and if he had an opportunity to improve in the middle stages to maintain contact with EMERALD KINGDOM, Apprentice Lloyd stated that he was instructed to attempt to ride the gelding conservatively in the middle stages to give GREYWORM a better opportunity to finish off the race. He added that he was able to obtain a position behind the leader in the early stages but was mindful passing the 800m, EMERALD KINGDOM had developed a considerable lead. He added that he placed his mount under pressure passing the 600m but was unable to take ground off the leader but finished off the race strongly.
 
Matowatakpe – Slow to begin. Rider reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Hot Spring Gold – A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild heat stress.
 
Race 10: ROAD TO MAGIC MILLIONS ON SALE NOW BM85 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Wren’s Day – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Couldn’t Refuse – Held up for clear running on entering the straight.
 
Gave Us Up – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Cloak – Trainer B Lockwood reported a potential change of tactics to attempt to settle further forward if circumstances permit. Led. Raced wide in the early stages and was able to obtain a position outside the leader passing the 1000m. Trainer B Lockwood reported that the gelding will now be retired.
 
Supergiant – Hung in for a number of strides passing the 1400m despite the efforts of its rider. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Linthorpe Lad – Required replating of the near fore behind the barriers. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Held up for clear running on entering the straight.
 
Way Beyond – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running on entering the straight.
 
Kellers Shelter – Bound on jumping away.
