Stewards permitted the following overweights:

Race 1: MITTYS QTIS 3YO FILLIES PLATE 1200 M

MISHANI LILY – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in before being corrected during the early part of the home straight. When asked to comment, Jockey J. Collett reported that his mount travelled well throughout the early and middle stages but failed to let down as expected in the home straight and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BREAK FREE – Over raced during the middle stages. Passing the 700m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of AQUATIER. Held up for clear running passing the 500m when attempting to shift out to improve into clear running, contacted THE DABBLE EFFECT and was momentarily inconvenienced.  
 
PETITE PALACE – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure rounding the home turn.
 
AMUSEANTES – Obliged to alter course approaching the 300m when carried in by THE DABBLE EFFECT.
 
THE DABBLE EFFECT – Hampered passing the 500m by BREAK FREE, which shifted out when attempting to improve. Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 300m after MISHANI LILY shifted in under pressure.
 
AQUATIER – Began awkwardly.
 
Following the running of Race 1, Apprentice B. Wheeler was stood down by the club Doctor. Apprentice B. Wheeler was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to resuming. Apprentice B. Wheeler was subsequently replaced as per the Race Day Summary.

Race 2: EAGLE FARM 160 YEARS RACEDAY BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP 1200 M

FLAG HALL – Laid in under pressure during the home straight.
 
GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ) – Bumped after the start. Apprentice C. Collis was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding and was reminded of his obligations to stop and straighten his mount when shifting in the home straight.
 
JOHN RAMBO – Bumped after the start. Jockey R. Maloney reported that the gelding was not suited to the tempo of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
RALPHIE – Raced wide throughout.
 
SKYWOLF – Slow to begin. Over raced during the early and middle stages.
 
TERMAGANT – Passing the 200m was obliged to shift out to improve into clear running after becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of FLAG HALL. Became awkwardly placed at heels near the winning post and was unable to be ridden fully to the finishing line. Jockey N. Beriman reported her mount never travelled throughout and in her opinion was not suited to today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
HE'S XCEPTIONAL – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced during the middle stages. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until the 200m.
 
NORTHERN DECREE (NZ) – Had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance passing the 200m.
 
GODFATHER – Began awkwardly. Passing the 600m steadied after improving onto heels. Over the final 50m, Jockey A. Mallyon had to stop riding after being placed in restricted room for a short distance.
 
MUSCHIALLI – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: LADBROKES 2025 BATTLE OF THE BUSH FINAL 1200 M

REAL KEY – Shortly after straightening, attempted to improve to the outside of GET WHAT YOU GIVE, after that run closed, was held up for clear running for a considerable distance until approaching the 150m.
 
ELUSIVE EAGLE – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Apprentice C. Collis stated could offer no explanation and in his opinion the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer B. Sheppard stated that the stable will monitor how ELUSIVE EAGLE pulls up over the following days.
 
KALASHNIKOV – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey R. Bayliss reported the gelding travelled well throughout the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure, failed to respond to his riding.
 
VILLADEN (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
INVAHIR – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
GET WHAT YOU GIVE – Raced wide throughout.
 
HOLIDAY DREAMS – Passing the 1000m after being crossed, commenced to race fiercely and restrained from heels for a considerable distance.
 
MR METRICS – Slow to begin and then hampered shortly after. When questioned regarding the riding of the gelding in the home straight, Jockey M. McDonald stated that MR METRICS is a usual leader and was of the opinion that he was unsuited to settling at the rear of the field. He added that given the large field shortly before straightening rather than shifting considerably wider to attempt to improve into clear running, he elected to attempt to ride for luck. He further added that shortly after straightening, he attempted to improve on his mount to take up a position behind ELUSIVE EAGLE but approaching the 300m, KAZZA’S JET shifted in, resulting in the gelding being obliged to shift across to the rail but ultimately again was held up passing the 100m and went to the line without being fully tested. Stewards noted Jockey M. McDonalds comments.
 
UNDER THE LIMIT – Approaching the winning post was carried wider by INVAHIR which shifted out and as a result, made significant contact with PESHWA and had its hind quarters turned. Jockey L. Tilley rider of INVAHIR was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
 
CHALKLEY – Began awkwardly.
 
PESHWA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and had difficulty obtaining clear running shortly after entering the home straight. Approaching the winning post was severely hampered by UNDER THE LIMIT which was carried out.
 
HEARSAY – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Disappointed for a run passing the 350m and steadied from the heels of REAL KEY before being able to obtain clear running.
 
INVICTUS LAD – Slow to begin. Over raced during the early and middle stages. Jockey T. Marshall was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(6)(b) for raising his whip arm above shoulder height.
 
JACK BE LUCKY – Began awkwardly. Hampered shortly after entering the home straight whilst weakening.

Race 4: TATTERSALL'S STAKES - LISTED  1400 M
 
DAMIEN – Approaching the 300m after improving onto the heels of KUJENGA was obliged to shift in.
 
AUTUMN BOY – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
DUKE OF ARRAKIS – Bumped after the start.
 
BLUISH HUE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Commenced to over race passing the 1000m when racing in restricted room.
 
KUJENGA – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
SHEZA ALIBI – Raced wide throughout.
 
ROYAL CHIC – Over raced during the early stages when racing in restricted room.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrythmia. Trainers representative T. Pollard was advised ROYAL CHIC would require a veterinary clearance, inclusive of a satisfactory ECG report of more than 60 seconds at rest and a satisfactory cardiac auscultation to be performed within 15 minutes of completing a 1000m gallop in the presence of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
CRASH THE PARTY – Slow to begin.

Race 5: TATTERSALL'S CUP - GROUP 3 2400 M

SIR LUCAN (IRE) – When asked to comment, Jockey T. Clark stated that his mount travelled well during the early and middle stages although failed to finish off the race as anticipated. Jockey T. Clark stated in his opinion the gelding didn’t appreciate today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
HEZASHOCKA (NZ) – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages and proved difficult to ride out to the line.
 
MANZOICE – Held up for a short distance passing the 600m.  
 
DARK DESTROYER (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced throughout the event.
 
MR WATERVILLE (IRE) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Inside the final 100m raced in restricted room to the inside of HEZASHOCKA (NZ) which laid in under pressure.
 
Race 6: TATTERSALL'S GOLD CROWN - LISTED 2100 M

PULCHRITUDINOUS (NZ) – Jockey T. Clark stated that in his opinion the mare didn’t appreciate the track conditions and was reluctant to stretch out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
OSMOSE (FR) – Jockey R. Bayliss could offer no explanation for today’s disappointing performance. Co Trainer A. Bott advised that it was now their intention to send the mare for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
MARE OF MT BULLER – Jockey J. McDonald stated that the mare didn’t appreciate the track conditions and was reluctant to stretch out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in its near hindleg. Trainers’ representative for C. Waller, B. Killion was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
 
THALASSOPHILE – Bumped after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
QUIETNESS (GB) – Laid out in the early part of the home straight before being corrected and again commenced to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
KIND WORDS – Became awkwardly placed at the heels of QUIETNESS (GB) passing the 300m.
 
LA COMETA (NZ) – Began awkwardly and bumped THALASSOPHILE.

Race 7: TATTERSALL'S MILE – LISTED 1600 M
 
DEMOCRACY MANIFEST – Over raced during the early stages.
 
COSMIC VEGA (IRE) – Trainer C. Maher advised a change of tactics – to be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Slow to begin and settled at the rear end of the field.
 
RISING PACIFIC (NZ) – Had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance on entering the home straight.

SIBAAQ (GB) – Over raced during the early stages.
 
QUEEN OF DRAGONS – Raced wide throughout. Jockey T. Clark reported his mount travelled well throughout although when asked for an effort in the home straight, failed to respond to his riding. He added that the mare may not have appreciated today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
CRANKY HARRY – Raced wide throughout.
 
BANANA SLIDE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight. Passing the 150m, obliged to alter course and shift out after improving onto the heels of the weakening AERIAL DANCER. Passing the 50m, again became awkward at the heels of CRANKY HARRY. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled bilaterally on the first occasion. Trainer D. Vandyke was advised of the provisions of AR 79(4) and that BANANA SLIDE would now incur a 2-month bar from trackwork and 3-month bar from racing & 1000m gallop, official trial or jump out in the presence of a Steward prior to resuming.

Race 8: TATTERSALL'S TIARA - GROUP 1 1400 M

SEMANA – Hampered passing the 800m after EL MORZILLO shifted in before being corrected. Approaching the 100m shifted out marginally, contacting EL MORZILLO, resulting in the hind quarters of SEMANA being turned.
 
GRINZINGER BELLE (NZ) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer D. O’Brien reported that the mare would now be going for a spell.
 
OLENTIA – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 700m. Passing the 500m had its hind quarters contacted and became awkward in its stride after EL MORZILLO shifted in marginally. Passing the 100m, had to shift in to avoid the heels of FLOOZIE which shifted in marginally.
 
FIRESTORM (NZ) – Bumped after the start. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions to both hindlegs.
 
COEUR VOLANTE (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. Jockey J. Childs reported his mount travelled well throughout although in his opinion, racing wide throughout was detrimental to the mare’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
BUBBA'S BAY – Passing the 200m, had to be checked to avoid the heels of FLOOZIE and ABOUNDING. Jockey A. Jones was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that passing the 200m she allowed her mount to shift out, carrying BUBBA’S BAY out to the heels of ABOUNDING causing BUBBA’S BAY to check. Jockey A. Jone’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days commencing midnight 5/7/2025 up to and including midnight 15/7/2025. In determining penalty, Stewards contributed a portion of the interference to a shift from TASHI which shifted in, carrying ABOUNDING down towards BUBBA’S BAY. Jockey T. Sherry pled guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding and was severely reprimanded given the contribution to the shift of FLOOZIE.
 
ABOUNDING – Began awkwardly.
 
FLOOZIE – Jockey A. Jones stated that in her opinion the mare may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer T. Gollan reported it was now the intention to send FLOOZIE for a spell.
 
TASHI – Raced wide throughout.
 
COCO JAMBOO (IRE) – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
ARCTIC GLAMOUR – Raced wide throughout.
 
EL MORZILLO – Over raced during the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout.  Passing the 500m shifted in marginally contacting OLENTIA, resulting in EL MORZILLO becoming awkward in its stride. Momentarily had its hind quarters turned passing the 100m.
 
Race 9: EUREKA STUD W.J HEALY STAKES - GROUP 3 1200 M

PRINCE OF BOOM – Passing the 800m, after improving onto the heels of THE NOVELIST, shifted three wide and raced wide for the remainder of the event. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 300m whilst weakening. Jockey C. Schofield stated that his mount travelled well during the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure near the 400m, failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R. Heathcote was advised to report back on the condition of the gelding in the subsequent days.
 
NEED SOME LUCK – Bumped after the start. Raced wide throughout. Trainer P. Snowden advised NEED SOME LUCK would now be sent for a spell.
 
METALART – Slow to begin.
 
MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO – Over raced during the early stages. Steadied passing the 800m after improving onto the heels of AUSTMARR. Continued to over race for a short distance thereafter. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
SHALAA'S MOMENT – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped NEED SOME LUCK.
 
APPIN GIRL – Slow to begin.
