1st – OUROBOROS 22c win, 14c place
2nd – SUPER ZAMBONI 23c place
3rd – MONEY TEAM 16c place
At a subsequent inquiry, J. Coetzee stated that the late withdrawal was due to the stable being unable to contact Trainer R. Heathcote until after CASPERNOVA had been saddled for the event and after consulting with the trainer, the stable was of the opinion that today’s Good 3 track would be detrimental to the horse’s welfare. Stewards advised J. Coetzee that an application should have been made prior to the Jockey weighing out for this event and subsequently being saddled. Stewards under AR 181(3) fined J. Coetzee $500. J. Coetzee was advised CASPERNOVA would incur a track rating bar and would not be permitted to race on surfaces rated a Good 3 or firmer.
