Trainer H. Schwenke was reprimanded pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch CHEEKY’S TIME by the prescribed time which was a dual acceptor in races 2 and 7.
RACE 1: NICK BAINBRIGGE FILLIES AND MARES NO METRO WINS HANDICAP (WEIGHTS RAISED 0.5KG) 1400 M
LUTON HOO (NZ) - Declared a late scratching at 10:08am on veterinary advice. Trainer D. Vandyke was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to LUTON HOO (NZ) racing again.
ARALETTA – Bumped with KINROSS LANE on jumping away. Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
KINROSS LANE – Bumped with ARALETTA on jumping away. Approaching the 600m, became awkwardly placed on the heels of POCKETMONEY and as a result, shifted wider on the track. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 500m by POCKETMONEY,which shifted out to improve.
POCKETMONEY– Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift wider to improve. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages, shifting wider on the track. Trainer C. Munce was advised that a warning would now be placed on the mare in relation to its racing manners.
TYPHOON TIP – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 1000m became awkwardly placed at the heels of KINROSS LANE, making that corner awkwardly and shifting wider on the track. Jockey G. Cartwright accidentally dropped her whip passing 200m.
CREATIVITY MISS – Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
KEIKO SAY - Began awkwardly and shifted in. When asked to comment on the performance of KEIKO SAY, Apprentice J. McMurray reported that after having to work early to obtain a leading position the mare proved to be disappointing and in his opinion may not have appreciated today’s firm racing surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
PRIDE OF VENUS – When asked to comment on the performance of PRIDE OF VENUS, Jockey A. Jones reported that the mare proved to be disappointing and in her opinion may not have appreciated today’s firm racing surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the thumps. Trainer C. Taylor reported that the mare would now be sent for a short spell.
TIGON PRINCESS – Began awkwardly.
TRAPEDO – Lost both hind plates.
RACE 2: GET WELL SOON NIKITA CLASS 1 PLATE 1200 M
BLITZUM – Blundered on jumping away.
BOOM BOOM RAY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
TURN THE CORNER – Approaching the 1000m, after being crossed, was obliged to steady after improving onto the heels of CHEEKY’S TIME.
AUTUMNGIRL – Over-raced in the middle stages of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey C. Graham reported at scale that AUTUMNGIRL raced ungenerously throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild heat stress.
BREEZIN' – Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight, shifted out and became awkwardly placed at the heels of NOW IS THE HOUR. Lost its near hind plate.
SILK SONIC – Became fractious prior to the start being effected and as a result lost ground. Over-raced in the early stages and approaching the 1000m became awkwardly placed on the heels of TURN THE CORNER and had to be restrained. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild heat stress.
CHEEKY'S TIME – Began awkwardly and contacted the outside barrier partition on jumping away.
After the running of this race, Stewards upgraded the track to a Good 3 at 12:15pm.
RACE 3: 1EQUINE BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1200 M
BETTER BE NORDY - Began awkwardly and shifted out.
FIGHTING IDOL - Raced wide.
NEGOTIATIONS – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, in particular settling in a leading position, Jockey R Maloney explained that his instructions were to be positive from a wide barrier, however after beginning well and with no early gate speed shown to his inside, he elected to allow his mount to stride forward rather than be caught wide.
TARTAGLIA – Slow to begin. Leaving the 800m as the pace of the race slackened, had to be checked after improving onto the heels of KEEP SAFE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
THUNDERING SOUL – Approaching the 700m, became awkward in its stride whilst racing in restricted room for a short distance. Raced wide. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
KEEP SAFE – Hampered shortly after the start. Leaving the 800m, had to be steadied as the pace of the race slackened after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of FIRST MISSION and as a result became awkward in its action and over-raced for a short distance thereafter. Passing the 200m, was obliged to alter course and shift in to obtain clear running.
RACE 4: AUSTBROKERS COMSURE COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES NO METRO WINS HANDICAP 1400 M
VORACIOUS – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped CAPE CRUSADER. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat stress.
CAPITAL ASSET – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 300m between CHIEF WITNESS and KODIAK, both which shifted marginally.
LARRIKIN ROGUE – Slow to begin.
CAPE CRUSADER – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped VORACIOUS.
CHIEF WITNESS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CHARLIE'S CASE – Laid out rounding the home turn. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 150m by HULKAMANIA which shifted out. Apprenticed C. Sutherland the rider of HULKAMANIAwas advised to exercise greater care when allowing his mounts to shift ground in similar circumstances.
CONNEWARRE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced on the middle stages and passing the 900m had to be steadied after improving onto heels.
RACE 5: FURLONG EQUINE INSURANCE BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1000 M
MR GALAZI – Apprentice C. Sutherland reported at scale that MR GALAZI may not have appreciated today’s firm racing surface.
HIDDEN MELODY – Passing the 200m, was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of HELLA FAST which shifted out under riding. Jockey C. Graham the rider of HELLA FAST was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
LYLES – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 6: KIA ORA STUD BENCHMARK 80 HANDICAP 1815 M
NAVAL SEAL – Restrained from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the inside rail. Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor reported at scale that in his opinion the gelding may not have appreciated today’s track conditions.
WILD CHAP – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 200m by VICTORY FLAME, which laid out under pressure. Apprentice J. Williams pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 131(b) for failing to ride his mount to the finishing line. Apprentice J. Williams was fined $600.
CANBERRA LEGEND (IRE) – Jockey J. Guthmann- Chester reported at scale that CANBERRA LEGEND may not have appreciated today’s firm racing surface.
CAVALRY MAN – Laid out throughout.
VICTORY FLAME – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
BECAMO – Hampered shortly after the start.
MANNERHEIM – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that MANNERHEIM would attempt to settle more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
SUN WORSHIPPER - Passing the 1700m, became awkward at the heels of LUDOVISIwhich shifted out at the point of the turn.
After the running of this race, Stewards inspected the track and upgraded it to a Firm 2 at 2:58pm.
RACE 7: RTE CUSTOM TRUCKS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1200 M
GRAFTERBURNERS- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped AVE CANTARE. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, particularly settling in a leading position, Apprentice C. Sutherland explained that it was not his intention to lead and that his instructions were to have the colt settle where comfortable. He added that after beginning well, he allowed his mount to stride forward and was able to secure the leading position without having to pressure his mount.
ROYAL MOVER – Over-raced in the early stages. Leaving the 300m was momentarily inconvenienced having its hind quarters contacted by AVE CANTARE which shifted out marginally.
CHAMPAGNE LANE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the middle stages of the event. Had to alter course on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running.
HI BARBIE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
AVE CANTARE – Bumped on jumping away. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
RACE 8: SKY RACING CLASS 3 PLATE 1600 M
The start of this event was delayed approximately 5 mins owing to MEDICAL AUTOCRAT casting its near-fore plate enroute to the barriers and having to be reshod. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey B. Thompson the rider of the 2nd placed THINKHARDANDFAST against 1st placed MARGOT’S DEEL (C. Graham) alleging interference over the concluding 100m. Stewards after hearing evidence from the relevant parties and viewing the stewards patrol footage, were of the opinion that leaving the 100m THINKHARDANDFAST commenced to shift out and away from MARGOT’S DEAL at a point near the 30m, bumped with MARGOT’S DEEL when that runner shifted out marginally. When considering the interference suffered, along with the half length margin, the proximity to the finish line and how both runners finished the race off over the concluding stages, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that should the incident not have occurred, THINKHARDANDFAST would have won the race and as such, dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the judge’s placings.
DARK CHILL– Leaving the 100m, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of THINKHARDANDFAST, which shifted out and away from MARGOT'S DEEL. Jockey B. Thompson the rider of THINKHARDANDFAST was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding.
PERFECT PLAY (GB) – Bumped on jumping away. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Lost its off-hind plate.
RHUVAAL – Over-raced in the middle stages of the event. Passing the 700m, was buffeted on a number of occasions between TAJAWAL and MARGOT'S DEEL which was attempting to shift out to improve. Held up rounding the home turn until approaching the 200m. Leaving the 100m, had to take hold to avoid the heels of THINKHARDANDFAST which continued to shift out and away from MARGOT'S DEEL. Jockey B. Thompson, the rider of THINKHARDANDFAST was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding.
ROCK HARD LOVE - Trainer G. Doughty made a submission to the Stewards regarding a late withdrawal of ROCK HARD LOVE due to the track rating being upgraded to a Firm 2. Stewards acceded to this request at 3:11pm and withdrew the gelding. Trainer G. Doughty was advised that ROCK HARD LOVE must not accept at a Good 2 or firmer.
SAVANNAH GANGSTER – Raced wide.
RAMPANT LION – Approaching the 200m, momentarily raced in restricted room whilst weakening.
PHENOM – Bumped near the 50m and became unbalanced.
PELE PRINCESS – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped PERFECT PLAY (GB).
THINKHARDANDFAST – Passing the 1200m, was carried wider on the track by PHENOM for a short distance before obtaining a position one off the rail. Held up rounding the home turn before shifting in near the 200m to obtain clear running. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Passing the 50m, became awkwardly placed at the heels of MARGOT’S DEEL when being corrected.
MARGOT'S DEEL – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Shifted out marginally over the concluding stages.
RACE 9: XXXX OPEN HANDICAP 1400 M
MISS JOELENE – Apprentice J. McMurray lost his whip near the 100m.
KRONENBOURG (NZ) – Raced wide. Made the home turn awkwardly and shifted out.
NAVYONTHEHIGHWAY – Raced wide. Carried wider rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
INVER PARK (GB) - Over-raced in the early stages. Near the 1000m, was obliged to check when MISS JOELENE shifted in. Apprentice J. McMurray the rider of MISS JOELENE was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding, the particulars being that leaving the 1000m, he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of INVER PARK (GB) and as a result that runner was obliged to check to avoid heels and lost his rightful running. Apprentice J. McMurry’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days commencing midnight the 9th of November and concluding midnight the 19th of November, 2025.
VIMINELE - Slow to begin.
WARBY– Slow to begin. Near the 1000m, momentarily raced in restricted room when MISS JOELENE shifted in. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.
RUSSIAN ALLIANCE – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 150m having to be restrained to avoid the heels of SERGEANT MAJOR (NZ) which shifted in before being corrected.
THE DROVER – Near the 150m, improved onto the heels of the weaking HE'S HEAVEN before shifting in and being held up and unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages.
SERGEANT MAJOR (NZ) – Contacted the rail leaving the mounting yard and subsequently underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Laid in approaching the 150m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
WAPITI - Trainer G. Duncan made a submission to the Stewards regarding a late withdrawal of WAPITI due to the track rating being upgraded to a Firm 2. Stewards acceded to this request at 3:09pm and withdrew the gelding. Trainer G. Duncan was advised that WAPITI must not accept at a Good 2 or firmer.
RACE 10: LADBROKES POPULAR SRM BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP 1200 M
BOOMTOWN BOSS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
OUR MAGNUS - Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 1000m by GANBARE which shifted in to obtain cover. Laid out rounding the home turn.
STREET CHASE – Trainer J. Mason made a submission to the Stewards regarding a late withdrawal of STREET CHASE due to the track rating being upgraded to a Good 3. Stewards acceded to this request at 12:50pm and withdrew the gelding. Trainer J. Mason was advised that STREET CHASE must not accept at a Good 3 or firmer.
TOWN CRIER - Trainer M. Hoysted made a submission to the Stewards regarding a late withdrawal of TOWN CRIER due to the track rating being upgraded to a Firm 2. Stewards acceded to this request at 3:33pm and withdrew the gelding. Trainer M. Hoysted was advised that TOWN CRIER must not accept at a Good 2 or firmer.
MAXIMUM VORTEX – Bumped with NAVAL TRADER leaving the 300m.
BEWS - Trainer S. Kendrick made a submission to the Stewards regarding a late withdrawal of BEWS due to the track rating being upgraded to a Firm 2. Stewards acceded to this request at 3:29pm and withdrew the gelding. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that BEWSmust not accept at a Good 2 or firmer.

NAVAL TRADER – Slow to begin. Bumped with MAXIMUM VORTEX leaving the 300m.
