SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Race 7 – Trainer T Gollan reported that whilst BLUE ALLURE has pulled up reasonably post-race, it was now his intention to spell the mare.
GENERAL
Apprentice O Webb is not riding at today’s meeting due to being injured, rider replacements as per summary report.
RACE 1: RACECOURSE VILLAGE QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1200 M
SNIPER BOOM – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
LONESOME STAR – Reared on jumping. Near the 1100m had to be steadied after over racing onto the heels of SNIPER BOOM and was obliged to alter course to the outside. Laid out rounding the home turn passing the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
SATOMI – Held up from rounding the home turn until near the 300m.
I'LLTELLYOUANYTIME – Over raced in the early stages and shifted out near the 1000m.
NIFTY'S TREASURE – Apprentice C Baker was reminded of her obligations pursuant to AR131(b) of riding her mounts out fully to the finish line.
RACE 2: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1000 M
BIG BOY GEORGE – Shifted in at the start onto CUSTO. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
CONCESSION – Reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Co trainer B Lockwood was advised that a warning would be placed on CONCESSION for the geldings’ pre-race manners. Co trainer B Lockwood advised that it would be their intention to remove the blinkers from the geldings’ gear going forward.
CUSTO – Hampered at the start between METALCRAFT and BIG BOY GEORGE.
SUPER ZAMBONI – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin.
METALCRAFT - Shifted out at the start onto CUSTO. Momentarily inconvenienced when shifting out and away from LARADO, which shifted out to improve, passing the 350m. Jockey M Rodd reported that METALCRAFT in previous runs has normally settled on a rail position but in his opinion raced greenly in today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
RACE 3: LADBROKES OWNERS PROMOTION BENCHMARK 80 HANDICAP 1810 M
BRINDAVAN (IRE) – Over raced in the early stages.
THAT'S MOLLY – Slow to begin.
CAPE CRUSADER – Over raced in the early stages. Was obliged to shift out on entering the home straight to improve into clear running.
AKKADIAN EMPEROR (IRE) – Slow to begin.
WOWIT'S WILLYWONKA – Stewards questioned the performance of WOWIT’S WILLYWONKA in today’s event. Trainer K Kemp stated that in his opinion the gelding would be more suited to provincial grade racing for the near future until the form improves, he stated that he wasn’t disappointed with today’s performance however felt WOWIT’S WILLYWONKA the may not have appreciated the tempo of the race. He was asked to report back to stewards on any findings in the coming days on how the gelding pulls up.
LET FLY – Leaving the 1200m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of WOWIT’S WILLYWONKA. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Jockey C Graham reported that from near the 200m felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer C & K Geran were advised that LET FLY would need a veterinary clearance prior to accepting for a future jump out, trial or race.
RACE 4: TROY SMITH APPRECIATION OPEN HANDICAP 1600 M
VICTORIA ROAD (IRE) – Dropped his inside rein near the 350m before regathering shorty after. Inclined to lay in, in the home straight. Apprentice J Williams was fined $200 pursuant to AR132(6)(b) for using his whip above shoulder height.
EDITED BY – Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide until working forward to the lead near the 1200m. Inclined to lay in, in the home straight.
REDFORD – Over raced in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
FAT FINGERS (NZ) – Slow to begin.
RACE 5: DRINKWISE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1000 M
BLITZBURG – Approaching the 100m, shifted in and away from STEFFI ELECTRICA which shifted in, before being corrected by its rider and becoming awkwardly placed at the hells of MISS FORCE and had to be steadied.
SUNRAYS – Jockey C Graham advised that in her opinion SUNRAYS wasn’t suited to the pace of the race and felt the filly couldn’t make up the ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
GET READY LASS – Raced wide until finding a position near the 700m.
SHADWELL LANE – Slow to begin.
STEFFI ELECTRICA – Began awkwardly. Steadied in the early stages after over racing onto the heels of CRYPTIC BEAUTY. Laid in under pressure home straight and 100m obliged to stop and straighten his mount.
MISS FORCE – Near the 100m, laid out marginally onto BLITZBURG.
RACE 6: GIRLS DAY OUT ON SALE NOW BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1600 M
BENGAL BOY – Slow to begin.
DETRIMENTAL – Bumped with LUTON HOO (NZ) on jumping.
ECLAIR AWESOME – Began awkwardly out onto LUTON HOO (NZ).
LUTON HOO (NZ) – Hampered at the start when ECLAIR AWESOME shifted out, causing LUTON HOO (NZ) to be taken out and bumped with DETRIMENTAL on jumping. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide until improving to outside the lead near the 1000m.
MAPLE DOOR – Slow to begin.
ARTFUL GIRL – Raced wide.
THEBARBEROFSEVILLE – Over raced in the early stages.
JEMOMA ALPILAGE – When asked to comment on performance of JEMOMA ALPILAGE, he stated that after he was obliged to race wide throughout, the mare weakened in the straight. Raced wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
SANCTUARY STORM – When asked to comment on the performance of SANCTUARY STORM, he stated that he settled further back in the field than anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lame in the near foreleg. Trainers A & R Archibald were advised SANCTUARY STORM would need a veterinary certificate prior to accepting for a future jump out, trial or race.
RACE 7: SKY RACING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1600 M
THE BEAR – Raced wide.
NORTH POLE – Laid out over the early part of the home straight.
WAR KING – Raced wide.
GIAPPONESE – Slow to begin. Apprentice J Williams was fined $100 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
GO MARO – Lost its off fore plate in running.
MY CHARM – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages. Passing the 1200m, was momentarily inconvenienced when contacted by VALOURI who was carried in by WAR KING which shifted in before being corrected, jockey R Maloney was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Approaching the 800m, had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of CRASH THE PARTY. Laid in in early part of home straight. Passing the 350m, shifted in and away from VALOURI becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of GO MARO and was obliged to steady.
VALOURI – Shifted in, in the straight onto MY CHARM.
VERONA AFFAIR – Became very fractious in the barriers and cast before escaping and running freely for some time before being recaptured. Stewards declared VERONA AFFAIR a late scratching at 4pm. Trainer S Morrisey was advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to accepting the filly for a future race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the off-hind leg and would require a veterinary certificate prior to accepting for a future jump out, trial or race. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on VERONA AFFAIR to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – GIAPPONESE 1c win, 7c place
2nd – CRASH THE PARTY 3c place
3rd – WAR KING 3c place
MADAME CODY – Raced wide.
PARADISE AS USUAL – Passing 150m became awkwardly placed on heels when racing in restricted room before obtaining clear running over final 100m.
RACE 8: BECOME A BRC MEMBER CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1400 M
ATMOSPHERE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
SER JOH – Over raced in the early stages.
CASTILLIAN (NZ) – Jockey R Maloney reported that in his opinion CASTILLIAN (NZ) would appreciate tracks with greater give.
DEEP RESPECT - Over raced in the early stages.
JUST FLYING – Raced wide until working forward to the lead near the 1000m.
SHOW SOME DECORUM – Slow to begin. Leaving the 250m had to be steadied when racing in restricted room between JUST FLYING which shifted in marginally and BATTLEFIELD who shifted out to improve. Apprentice J Williams was reprimanded and advised to make sure he is sufficiently clear when allowing his mounts to shift ground.
RED DEFCON – Slow to begin. Trainer M Kropp was reprimanded pursuant to AR194 in that he failed to present RED DEFCON to the mounting yard by the prescribed time.
RACE 9: XXXX BENCHMARK 90 HANDICAP 1000 M
CHAKRA BOY – Raced wide. Rider reported that her mount was inclined to lay in from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have heat stress.
FLEETWOOD – Slow to begin.
HOLY RACKET (NZ) – Raced wide.
TECTONIC PLATE – When asked to comment on the performance of TECTONIC PLATE in today’s event, jockey M Rodd could not offer any explanation on todays performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
WONDEREACH – Raced wide. Lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 10: LADBROKES BIG BETS COPY NOW BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1200 M
SIR CARTER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Hampered passing the 100m and raced in restricted room between SHIHAB and TRUE AMOR who was carried out by TONNEOFGRIT. Apprentice J Williams was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
SHIHAB – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide. Inclined to hang out throughout the event. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 50m.
TONNEOFGRIT – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Trainer M Currie was fined $200 pursuant to AR65 for failing to provide the thoroughbred identification card.
GOSPEL GIRL – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 50m by FLYING DESTINY which shifted out under pressure.
KODIAK – Leaving the 1000m had to be steadied after improving onto heels. Jockey D Thornton reported that in his opinion the gelding felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainers representative O Peoples was advised KODIAK would require a veterinary certificate prior to accepting for a future jump out, race or trial.
TRUE AMOR – Raced in restricted room inside the 100m and was hampered passing the 50m when awkwardly placed at heels of TONNEOFGRIT which shifted out under riding. When asked to comment on the performance of TRUE AMOR, jockey M Harley stated that he felt the gelding failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing in today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
AMUSEANTES – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn. Jockey D Moor reported that he opted to go back from the wide gate in today’s event.
