SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
GENERAL
Due to the conditions outlined in Apprentice O Webb’s return from injury clearance, restricting Apprentice Webb to riding two horses per race meeting, Stewards replaced Apprentice Webb in Race 4 on ARIAT with Apprentice C Baker. Apprentice Webb was subsequently fined $200 under AR127(1) for accepting a ride which she was unable to fulfill.
RACE 1:SKY RACING QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1300 M
MARTIST – Began awkwardly. Bumped with GOLD CZECH shortly after jumping. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
DOUBTWILLY – Slow to begin.
GOLD CZECH – Hampered on jumping away when bumped with MARTIST.
APOSTLE (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival to the barriers and was cleared to start. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
HIT A LICK – Over raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtained cover.
RACE 2: MORETON HIRE BENCHMARK 80 HANDICAP 2412 M
HADOUKEN - Over raced in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Apprentice J Franklin stated that HADOUKEN did not respond to his riding and in his opinion the gelding may be best suited to racing on sand and synthetic tracks as its main success has been on those surfaces. Trainer P Robl was advised HADOUKEN would be required an official trial prior to accepting for a future race for today’s poor performance.
KUREDER (NZ) – Slow to begin and bumped with LIBERTY PARK (NZ) on jumping away. Over raced in the middle stages.
LIBERTY PARK (NZ) – Began awkwardly and bumped with KUREDER on jumping. Over raced in the early stages of the event.
MR O'REILLY – Over raced in the early stages of the event.
WHATJEUDOIN' – Over raced in the middle stages and near the 1800m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of KUREDER (NZ). Worked forward to outside the lead near the 900m.
RACE 3: REDCLIFFE TREEHOUSE BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 1000 M
PORT ERIN - Hampered at the start and lost ground when BONFIRE SPARK shifted out and ALLOUTATIME shifted in. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
FIND YOUR OWN – Laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Apprentice C Sutherland reported that he became concerned with FIND YOUR OWN’s action over the final 400m. Trainer S Morrisey was advised FIND YOUR OWN would require an official trial prior to accepting for a future race.
LAYDOWNLILY – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Near the 300m shifted in under riding and made contact with the running rail. Apprentice O Webb, in the presence of her master, was advised that in similar circumstances she should cease using the whip when her mount is shifting ground and take corrective action earlier to straighten her mount.
ALLOUTATIME – Began awkwardly and shifted in onto PORT ERIN.
BONFIRE SPARK – Began awkwardly and shifted out onto PORT ERIN.
RACE 4: STRADBROKE SEASON ON SALE NOW BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1400 M
STREAK OF WINNING – Hampered at the start and lost ground when CELESTIAL BLAZE shifted out and READY FOR THE TRIP shifted in. Over raced in the early and middle stages and bumped with CREATIVITY MISS near the 1000m. Jockey A Jones stated that she felt due to STREAK OF WINNING over racing, it may have had a detrimental effect on today’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
READY FOR THE TRIP – Began awkwardly and shifted in onto STREAK OF WINNING. Raced ride throughout.
CELESTIAL BLAZE - Began awkwardly and shifted out onto STREAK OF WINNING.
TOOLATEMATE –- Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on the tactics adopted, jockey J. Guthmann-Chester stated his instructions were to attempt to lead if TOOLATEMATE began well, noting the gelding had led at its previous start. He added that after TOOLATEMATE jumped fairly and was caught wide in the early stages, he attempted to stride forward but observed several runners to his inside also seeking positions at a strong tempo. Jockey Guthmann-Chester further explained that he felt restraining the gelding to obtain cover behind the field may have been detrimental to its performance, therefore he elected to remain racing four wide where TOOLATEMATE travelled comfortably without cover. Stewards noted his comments.
GLASS OF ROSE – Raced wide throughout.
CREATIVITY MISS - Bumped with STREAK OF WINNING near the 1000m when the gelding was over racing.
RACE 5: XXXX CLASS 3 PLATE 1810 M
FELIX THE SCAT – Raced wide without cover throughout. When question regarding FELIX THE SCAT’s performance jockey M Du Plessis stated that after being trapped wide, his mount was entitled to drop off quicker than what it did and was pleased in its finishing efforts after a tough run.
HEADHUNTER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
HEAVENLY LOVE – Over raced in the middle stages. Held up for clear running on entering home straight. Passing the 300m was obliged to shift in to improve into clear running.
TENBURY WELLS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have heat stress.
FRENCH ENDEAVOUR – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
JENNI MOREESE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
BRIGHT THE SUN - Passing the 1000m had to be steadied after becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of FRENCH ENDEAVOUR.
THEBARBEROFSEVILLE - Raced wide without cover throughout.
BIKER – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and lost significant ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer S Rundle was advised BIKER would require an official trial prior to accepting for a future race for standing flat footed as the start was affected.
RACE 6: CRICKS HIGHWAY CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1600 M
NAVAL SEAL – Jockey R Maloney pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(b) in that he failed to ride his mount NAVAL SEAL out to the finish of the race and, in doing so, cost his mount third placing. Jockey Maloney’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14 days, commencing at midnight Saturday, 14 March 2026 and concluding at midnight Saturday, 28 March 2026. Jockey Maloney was advised of his rights of appeal.
FREE CARRY – Approaching the 200m, shifted out onto SUNLORD.
MAKE A CALL – Near the 50m, altered course to the outside of FREE CARRY to obtain clear running.
KAIROS LOUIE (NZ) – Steadied approaching the 200m when FREE CARRY shifted out. Apprentice E Lang was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
SUNLORD – Over raced in the middle stages.
RACE 7: MAGIC MILLIONS MARCH YEARLING SALE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1600 M
NORTH POLE – Began awkward and shifted out onto I’LLTELLYOUTONIGHT which was taken out and bumped with YES DONALD YES.
KOKATAHI (NZ) – Near the 900m obliged to steady when racing in restricted room to the inside of HELLO DOLLY DIVA before being corrected by its rider. Apprentice O Webb advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
BE BOB ALOOLA – Was momentarily inconvenienced and carried wider leaving the 500m by PARADISE AS USUAL which shifted out to improve.
CASTELLO GRANDE – Leaving the 1400m raced in restricted room for a short distance to the inside of NORTH POLE which shifted in when attempting to improve.
DUOMO – Overraced in the early stages and when approaching the 1200m, commenced to raced fiercely and had to be checked off the heels of NORTH POLE.
I'LLTELLYOUTONIGHT – Taken out on jumping and bumped with YES DONALD YES.
PARADISE AS USUAL – Shortly after the start, hampered and lost ground when SAVE THE ROSES was taken out by DUOMO and LADY TANGALOOMA (NZ) who shifted in.
SAVE THE ROSES - Shortly after the start was taken out onto PARADISE by DUOMO who shifted out.
YES DONALD YES - Bumped on jumping when I’TELLYOUTONIGHT was taken out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery and the thumps. Trainer J Bruce advised YES DONALD YES would now be sent for a spell.
LADY TANGALOOMA (NZ) – Shortly after the start shifted in onto PARADISE AS USUAL. Jockey A Jones stated that she felt LADY TANGALOOMA (NZ) travelled well but when asked for an effort when straightening weakened noticeably. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainers’ representative was asked to report back on the condition of LADY TANGALOOMA (NZ) in the subsequent days.
HELLO DOLLY DIVA – Approaching the 1400m was hampered by CASTELLO GRANDE who was carried in by NORTH POLE which shifted in. Apprentice J Franklin was advised to exercise greater care. Raced in restricted room approaching the 1200m to the inside of CASTELLO GRANDE. Obliged to alter course approach 200m and shift in to avoid the heels of KOKATAHI (NZ) which laid out under pressure.
RACE 8: ROKU GIN FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200 M
GOSPEL GIRL – Passing the 800m elected to shift out from a position on the rail to a position one off the fence after being crossed.
ENTERPRISE LUCIA – Inclined to lay in throughout.
CARRAVILLA – Began awkwardly and bumped with LADY SHOTGUN. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
LADY SHOTGUN – Hampered at the start when CARRAVILLA began awkwardly.
PARTY SPIRIT – Checked passing the 800m when having to avoid heels. Apprentice E Lang pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(a) in that passing the 800m, she allowed her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of PARTY SPIRIT, as a result PARTY SPIRIT had to check to avoid the heels of GOSPEL GIRL. Apprentice E Langs license to ride in races was suspended for 11 days, commencing midnight Saturday 7 March 2026 and to conclude midnight 18March 2026. Apprentice E Lang was informed of her rights of appeal.
PRIDE OF VENUS – Raced in restricted room for a short distance approach 1000m.
AMBERINGER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
RACE 9: LADBROKES ODDS SURGE COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200 M
MILLANE – Over raced in the early stages.
MISTER BIANCO – Raced wide until working forward to outside the lead near the 700m.
ZONDEE – Leaving the 200m was obliged to alter course.
ASTAPOR - Over raced in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed ASTAPOR to have been galloped on in the off-hind leg. Jockey R Stewart stated that after being three wide early, the horse commenced to weaken from the 800m and proved disappointing.
IRAMA – Began awkwardly.
