GENERAL
Race 6. Trainer D. Bougoure was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider for CHARLIE TANGO.
 
Race 8. Trainer M. Hoysted was fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider for COLLEANO.
 

RACE 1:KARMO QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP         1000 Metres
 
EVER SO READY – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.  
 
TOSEN SABI – Passing the 800m, shifted out whilst over racing.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ELUSIVE CAPITAL – Shifted out on jumping. Approaching the 700m, after improving onto the heels of TOSEN SABI, shifted to a three wide position when the pace of the race slackened.
 
CULMINATING – Had its hindquarters contacted shortly after jumping and became unbalanced. Raced greenly throughout. Passing the 600m, had to be steadied after improving onto heels. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
NIGHT MARKET – Began awkwardly and bumped heavily with SUBSIDING. Near the 700m, momentarily inconvenienced and carrier wide by TOSEN SABI. Passing the 100m, was momentarily inconvenienced by TOSEN SABI which shifted out and away from EVER SO READY which laid out under pressure. Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on the performance, rider A. Jones reported that after being hampered at the start and settling further back than expected, she was of the opinion that the filly didn’t appreciate racing amongst other runners’ which may have had an effect on its finishing effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
SUBSIDING – Began awkwardly then buffeted between runners shortly after the start, clipping a heel and blundering. A post race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the left foreleg.
 
 
RACE 2: SHERRIN RENTALS BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP         1820 Metres
 
MAKE A CALL – Obliged to alter course and shift in on straightening after being held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
REZONE – Momentarily inconvenienced and raced in restricted room on straightening to the inside of JENNI MOREESE which laid in whilst rounding the home turn.
 
JACK DUGGAN (USA) – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.       
 
JENNI MOREESE – Laid in rounding the home turn.

SUNNY DISPOSITION – Over raced in the middle stages.
 
Following the running of this race, the track was upgraded to a Good (4).
 
 
 
RACE 3: ETHOS ORTHODONTICS BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP          1600 Metres

WEIGALL TIGER – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
GALIFIANAKIS (IRE) – When asked to comment on the performance, rider M. Rodd reported that GALIFIANAKIS over raced for a considerable distance which had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying a slow recovery and to be coughing. Trainer J. Bruce was advised that GALIFIANAKIS will require a veterinary clearance inclusive of an endoscopic examination prior to racing again.
 
NOBLE CONQUEROR – Change of tactics – to settle further forward if circumstances permit. Settled in a rearward position after being hampered in the early stages. Passing the 1500m, after becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of GALIFIANAKIS, which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider, clipped that runners’ heels blundered and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the first occasion. Trainer’s representative was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
MR BUSTER (IRE) – Passing the 300m, obliged to shift out to improve into clear running.
 
LAST COMMAND – Obliged to alter course approaching the 100m and in doing so raced in restricted room over the concluding stages between WEIGALL TIGER which laid out, and MR BUSTER.
 
FREE CARRY – Shifted out under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
CANBERRA LEGEND (IRE) – Began awkwardly.
 
 
RACE 4: MERCEDES-BENZ BRISBANE BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP         1200 Metres
 
Prior to correct weight, Stewards considered an application from trainer D. Forster to have HE’S HEAVEN declared a non-runner. After taking evidence from starter S. Lister, apprentice C. Baker and trainer D. Forster, it was established that HE’S HEAVEN had been fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected, at which point the barrier attendant had been assisting apprentice Baker in settling the gelding. Stewards were satisfied that the barrier attendant had released HE’S HEAVEN prior to jumping and were satisfied that the gelding was afforded a fair start.
 
HE'S HEAVEN – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Became awkwardly placed on heels on entering the home straight.
 
POCKET FULL – Over raced in the early stages.
 
BRERETON – Rider C. Graham dropped her whip at the 200m.
 
 
 
RACE 5: VECCHIO PROPERTY GROUP BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP         1200 Metres

TEN DEEP (GB) – Passing the 900m, obliged to steady to avoid the heels of RUNWITHTHETIDE.

GOLDEN CROSS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
 
RACE 6: CHEMIST WAREHOUSE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP          1000 Metres

DR FARTHING – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
THE POOL BOY – Over raced in the middle stages.  At the 700m, had to be restrained after improving onto heels. Held up for clear running for a short distance passing the 200m.
 
SWEET HESITATION – Blundered on jumping.
 
VIVIKA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until the 250m.
 
BOSS MODE – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHARLIE TANGO – Began awkwardly and bumped BETTER SWEET. Momentarily held up for clear running passing the 300m. When asked to comment on the tactics adopted, apprentice C. Baker stated that she was instructed to ride the gelding more conservatively today given there was a number of runners with early speed drawn to her inside. She further added that she was obliged to restrain her mount for a number of strides shortly after jumping in order to obtain a position at the rear of the field. Trainer D. Bougoure confirmed the instructions given. Mr Bougoure was reprimanded pursuant to AR100 for failing to notify a change of tactics.
 
CRYPTO MISS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
UNFAITHFUL – Slow to begin. Over raced in the middle stages. Raced wide throughout. Had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200m.
 
ZOUSAIN'S CHOICE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CITY OF TEARS – Raced wide throughout
 
BETTER SWEET – Bumped on jumping. Obliged to alter course on entering the home straight and shifted out to obtain clear running.
 

RACE 7: PITCHER PARTNERS BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP          1400 Metres

RHAPSODY CHIC (NZ) – Change of tactics – to be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Settled midfield. Over raced in the early stages when tightened for room by CHO OYU which shifted in leaving the 1300m.
 
SWIFT CHARM (NZ) – Leaving the 1300m, checked and lost ground, when racing in restricted room to the inside of RHAPSODY CHIC which was tightened and carried in by CHO OYU, which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Jockey D. Boche, rider of CHO OYU, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR31(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of RHAPSODY CHIC causing that runner to shift in and tighten the running of SWIFT CHARM causing that runner to be checked. Jockey Boche’s license to ride in races was suspended for seven days commencing at midnight the 30th of March 2026 and ending midnight the 6th of April 2026.  Jockey Boche was informed of his right of appeal. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
ACAPPELLA SUN – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.  
 
INFLUENTIAL – Slow to begin. Whilst over racing, had to be restrained when improved onto heels of CINQUE TERRE approaching the 1100m, before continuing to over race in the middle stages. 
 
 

RACE 8: GOTRANSIT MEDIA GROUP BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP         1600 Metres

CELESTIAL BLAZE – Over raced for a short distance passing the 1100m.

LUPINE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Passing 1400m, laid in and contacted the running rail.
 
COLLEANO – Raced wide throughout.
 
ROCK YA (NZ) – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MELTDOWN – Over raced in the middle stages.
 
ADDITION (NZ) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have minor lacerations to the near hind leg consistent with being galloped on.
 
THEBARBEROFSEVILLE - Slow to begin.

LINTHORPE LUCK – Laid out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
