SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
9th August 2026 – Sunshine Coast
 
Race 3: MOSTRO – Trainer D. Peoples reported that in light of the poor performance, the gelding would now be retired from racing. Stewards advised Trainer D. Peoples that should circumstances change, MOSTRO would be required to officially trial prior to racing again.

GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweight –
 
Race 8: J. Guthmann-Chester +0.5kg (56kg)
 
As Apprentice L. Martyn was injured, she was replaced as per the race day summary. Apprentice L. Martyn was advised that a medical certificate would be required prior to riding again.
 
As Jockey R. Maloney was unable to make the allocated weight in Race 6, he was replaced on CHATTERLEY by B. Thompson. Jockey R. Maloney was fined $200 pursuant to AR 190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
 
 
Race 1 -GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE        1000 M
 
CODE KEEPER – Raced greenly, shifting ground under pressure in the home straight.
 
COOPER CHASE – Began awkwardly and was then hampered shortly after the start. Near the 900m, had to be steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of TEXAS COWGIRL, which shifted in to avoid heels. Approaching the 800m, was inconvenienced and forced wider when NOVELTY, which was over-racing, shifted out.
 
LUNANIC - Inconvenienced and had to be checked shortly after the start.  

NOVELTY – Hampered shortly after the start. Over-raced when the pace of the race slackened approaching the 800m.

RED POINT – Inconvenienced and had to be checked shortly after the start. Over-raced when the pace of the race slackened approaching the 800m. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

GODDOR – Began awkwardly and lost ground. When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey D. McGillivray reported that after beginning awkwardly, GODDOR failed to muster early speed and in his opinion would appreciate a step up in distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
TEXAS COWGIRL – Steadied near the 900m to avoid the heels of METRIC, which shifted in. Following this incident, commenced to hang out and continued to do so until leaving the 600m. In this incident Jockey C. Graham, the rider of METRIC, was severely reprimanded for careless riding.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be shin sore on its off foreleg. Trainer J. Downes was that TEXAS COWGIRL would require a veterinary certificate prior to racing again.
 
METRIC - Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
MISHANI ROZAY – Began awkwardly and shifted out.

Race 2 - BECOME A BRC MEMBER COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
 
BAD BOSS – Held up rounding the home turn and after passing the 400m, was disappointed for a run between RUM AND KIRK and IGNATIUS and had to be steadied as a result. Continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running until the 200m. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.

INDAMOUSE – Over the concluding stages, improved onto the heels of BEAT THE RAP, and as a result could not be fully tested to the finishing line.
 
LIPIZZANER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Jockey B. Thompson reported that his mount made abnormal respiratory noises over the final stages and on pulling up. He further added that the gelding weakened considerably over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed respiratory noises. Trainer P. Shailer was advised that a veterinary certificate inclusive of endoscopic results would be required prior to LIPIZZANER racing again. Trainer P. Shailer was advised to report back on the condition of the gelding in the days subsequent.

MORE REVOLUTION – Whilst racing greenly under pressure in the home straight, was disappointed for a run near the 250m and had to be steadied from the heels of RUM AND KIRK. Jockey N. Heywood reported that MORE REVOLUTION raced greenly when placed under pressure and did its best work of the concluding stages. He further added that in his opinion the gelding would appreciate a step up in distance.

PROPHET OF DESTINY – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Over-raced in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

RUM AND KIRK – Raced wide throughout.      
 
SEATICUS – Approaching the 1000m, was steadied when racing in restricted room between BEAT THE RAP and BAD BOSS, which shifted in.
 
IGNATIUS – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice J. McMurray reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.
 

Race 3 - COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY 15 AUGUST FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE     1200 M
 
AGADOO - Steadied from heels leaving the 700m. Checked from heels at the 600m.

EMPHATIQUE – Significantly slow to begin. Steadied from heels leaving the 700m. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight, and when attempting to improve into restricted room from the 200m between IRREVERENT and TENGUN TANGO, was held up when TENGUN TANGO shifted out under pressure. Continued to be held up and was unable to improve into that restricted room for the remainder of the event and had to be steadied from heels over the concluding stages when TENGUN TANGO continued to shift out under pressure.
 
 
HEAD OF THE RIVER – When the pace slackened, over-raced at heels passing the 700m.
 
PEARLS IN JUNE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed clinical signs of the thumps.
 
SECRET SUSPICION – Raced greenly when restrained from heels passing the 900m.
 
CERETTI – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
KOBABILITY - When the pace slackened, over-raced at heels passing the 700m and shifted wider momentarily
 

Race 4 - FAMILY DAY RACEDAY 12 SEPTEMBER CLASS 5 HANDICAP   1400 M

NAVAL TRADER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
GORBACHEV – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

FREELAND – Leaving the 1000m, had to be steadied when PUFF 'N' HARRY shifted in. Jockey B. Lerena, the rider of PUFF 'N' HARRY, was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the 2nd occasion. As this was the second such bleeding attack, under the provisions of AR79(6) Trainer Co. Trainer C. Munce was advised that mare would now incur a lifetime ban from racing in Australia. 

BECAMO – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 1000m, was obliged to be steadied from the heels of FREELAND when that horse was steadied. Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty obtaining clear running until the 300m.


Race 5 - MEKKA RACEDAY 22 AUGUST CLASS 1 PLATE          1840 M

BARCELO – Held up rounding the home turn. 
 
BON RIVIERE - Restrained from the wide barrier to take up a position at the rear of the field.

DEVINE SQUIRE (NZ) – Inconvenienced and forced wider in the straight when TASSORATI shifted out under pressure. Apprentice B. Youngberry the rider of TASSORATI was reprimanded for careless riding, in that she failed to stop riding and straighten when her mount was shifting ground.
 
HE'S A SAINT (NZ) – Restrained from the wide barrier to take up a position at the rear of the field. Apprentice C. Baker reported that her mount was inclined to hang in for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride out when placed under pressure in the home straight,

ICONIFY – Obliged to stop riding near the 150m to avoid the heels of DEVINE SQUIRE (NZ), which shifted out as a result of TASSORATI shifting out under pressure.

TASSORATI – Laid out under pressure in the home straight obliging its rider to stop and straighten on several occasions.


Race 6 - SKY RACING BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
ENFORCEABLE – Shifted in on jumping away and bumped FIREFORCE.

MIDNIGHT SPIRIT – Shifted out on jumping away and bumped FIREFORCE.
 
TORO STRIKE – Bumped shortly after the start and lost ground as a result. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
CHATTERLEY – Connections advised of a change of tactics – settle further forward. Began awkwardly and lost ground and settled towards the rear of the field.       
 
FIREFORCE – Bumped on jumping away.

SIESTA - Began awkwardly and lost ground. After being ridden positively from the barriers commenced to over-race whilst leading in the middle stages.

BLUE ALLURE – Forced wider near the 1000m for a short distance.

MISHANI PRINCE – Over-raced after passing the 1100m onto the heels of MIDNIGHT SPIRIT, which had been steadied and as a result of this, shifted out, hampering BLUE ALLURE and forcing that horse wider.


Race 7 - XXXX GOLD CLASS 3 PLATE 1000 M
 
GRAM – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
THE POOL BOY – Inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.
 
BIANCELLI – Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure in the home straight,

ROSE NOIR – Slow to begin.


Race 8 - LADBROKES SWITCH CLASS 6 HANDICAP          1000 M
 
MOONHAVEN – Improved onto heels over the concluding stages. Apprentice J. McMurray reported at scale that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

ACRES AWAY – Raced wide. Leaving the 600m, steadied when obliged to race in restricted room between MISS PERSONALITY, which shifted in and KINGDOM UNDERSIEGE, which shifted out. Lost its off hind plate.
 
DARK TSZYU (NZ) - Raced wide.         

ESHA - Held up rounding the home turn.
 
MISS PERSONALITY - Raced wide.                
 
ARISPHERE – Raced wide.        
 
SURREAL ASCOT - Raced wide.

KINGDOM UNDERSIEGE – Held up rounding the home turn and until passing the 300m. Apprentice B. Youngberry was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for using her whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
