Trainer R. Vale was severely reprimanded pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor PIPISTRELLE by the prescribed time.
 
Trainer S. Kendrick was severely reprimanded pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor HOPPER by the prescribed time.
 
Prior to the running of race 1, the track was upgraded to a good 4.
 
Race 1 - RACECOURSE VILLAGE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD AND FOUR-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1000M

SPIRIT OF BARTY – Held up for clear running from rounding the home turn until near the 250m.
 
RHETORIC – Approaching the 600m, improved onto heels, shifted out and bumped DON’TCHA LUV’ER. Held up for clear running from rounding the home turn until near the 250m. Laid in approaching the winning post and bumped GEITZ.
 
DON'TCHA LUV'ER – Bumped leaving the 600m.
 
GEITZ – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Bumped approaching the winning post by RHETORIC. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
IDLEONBY – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Jockey C. Graham reported her mount was disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight. Trainer T. Gollan advised Stewards it is the intention to ride the mare with cover at its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
CRYPTO MISS – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 

Race 2 - SOUTHS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP   2200M
 
BENZINO – Bumped at the start. Laid out for the majority. Raced wide without cover from the 900m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice R. Thorburn was reminded of his obligations to fully ride his mounts out to the finish line.
 
BARCELO – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey R. Maloney advised the gelding travelled well, however was disappointing when placed under pressure and in his opinion may not have run out the 2200m. Cast its near fore plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
DRACENA – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
WHATJEUDOIN' – Rounding the home turn, became awkwardly placed at the heels of BENZINO and was steadied. Disappointed for a run near the 300m, steadied and shifted out.
 
BON RIVIERE – Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
BOLERO – Began awkwardly.
 
TRUSTY BANDIT – Made the crossing awkwardly near the 1800m. Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up from rounding the home turn until near the 350m.
 
WOODLAND WONDER – Slow to begin.
 

Race 3 - LADBROKES ODDS SURGE CLASS 3 PLATE 1600M
 
BOLSHEVIC ROAD – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
GIAPPONESE – Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped READY AZZ EVA. Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1200m, improved onto the heels of ROBRICK and was steadied. Held up approaching the 600m. Apprentice J. McMurray pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m, 17 in totality. Apprentice McMurray’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence at midnight 5th September 2026 and to conclude at midnight 14th September 2026. This suspension commences after the previously imposed suspension that concludes on 5th September 2026.
 
READY AZZ EVA – Bumped shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the early stages. When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice J. Williams advised his mount was not suited to the slow tempo in the early stages and as a result, the gelding over raced which he believes had a detrimental effect on its finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
PURE ALPHA (NZ) – Jockey B. Thompson reported it wasn’t his intention to lead, however with no speed shown from inside runners and rather than being caught wide, he allowed his mount to stride forward. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer T. Gollan was advised the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing or trialling.
 
WRIGLEY FIELD – Jockey R. Maloney reported he had no specific instructions and with no speed shown from inside runners and rather than being caught wide, he allowed his mount to stride forward.
 
GOOD PHILLY – Began awkwardly.
 
SLIPSAIN – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn. Laid in over the final 200m.
 
IN SOCIETY – Raced keenly in the early stages. When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice M. Philpot advised her mount was not suited to the slow tempo in the early stages and as a result, the mare over raced and was caught wide throughout which she believes had a detrimental effect on its finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
HELLO DOLLY DIVA – Declared a late scratching at 10:25am on veterinary advice after sustaining an abrasion to its offside hip whilst being transported to the track. Trainer P. Wallace was advised the mare will require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing or trialling.
 

Race 4 - BECOME A BRC MEMBER QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1400M
 
EXCEED THE SALE – Apprentice C. Baker reported her mount laid out under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice C. Baker was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(6)(b) for using her whip in an action which raises her arm above shoulder height.
 
DRAGON MAGIC – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped HIGH AUTHORITY.
 
HIGH AUTHORITY – Bumped at the start. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
COURTHEZON – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey B. Thompson advised the colt didn’t travel comfortably and proved disappointing when asked for an effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Trainer’s representative H. Gregory was advised the colt will require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing or trialling.
 
STAR OF THE BAR – Laid out rounding the home turn and when placed under pressure in the home straight. Jockey D. Moor reported the filly, which was stepping up in distance, raced keenly in the lead. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
RAGING RAIDER – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the 100m, laid in and became awkwardly placed at the heels of SKY ALICE which also shifted out under pressure.
 
SKY ALICE – Shifted out approaching the 100m when struck with the whip.
 
 
Race 5 - FAMILY RACEDAY BOOK NOW BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP   1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 4 minutes when KINGDOM UNDERSIEGE shied at some signage that had become loose on the outside fence in the preliminary, dislodging its rider and galloping riderless for some distance before being captured. KINGDOM UNDERSIEGE was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1:36pm on veterinary advise. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on KINGDOM UNDERSIEGE be refunded in full, with the following deductions to apply;
 
1st STRADA VARENNA – 7c the win, 8c the place
2nd STORMLAND – 9c the place
3rd ENFORCEABLE – 7c the place
 
Following this incident, Jockey M. Harley was examined by the QAS officials and stood down from his remaining engagement as he was experiencing some discomfort in his neck and shoulder. Jockey Harley was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to next riding.
 
STORMLAND (NZ) – Trainer C. Maher was fined $100 pursuant to AR106(1) for presenting the gelding without a tongue tie. Near the 1000m, steadied from the heels of CENTENNIAL PARK (C. Graham) which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey C. Graham was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
LION CLASS – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
MIDNIGHT SPIRIT – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped STRADA VARENNA.
 
SHOW 'EM HOWL – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
STRADA VARENNA – Bumped at the start.
 
CENTENNIAL PARK (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
THE DRAMATIST – Slow to begin.
 
THE POOL BOY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn.


Race 6 - SKY RACING BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1000M

MOONHAVEN – Shifted out shortly after the start. Approaching the 800m, carried out by EVERYBODY RISE and as a result bumped with MISS PERSONALITY.
 
EVERYBODY RISE – Near the 800m, shifted out when over racing.
 
THE FIXER – Had its hindquarters turned shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BONDED AFFAIR – Slow to begin. Near the 900m, when being restrained, momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of PORT ERIN and had to be steadied. Jockey D. Moor reported that after being slow to begin, he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated.
 
MISS PERSONALITY – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room shortly after the start. Near the 800m, bumped by MOONHAVEN. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GET READY LASS – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start. Disappointed for a run near the 250m and shifted wider to obtain clear running.
 
PORT ERIN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Guthmann-Chester advised the gelding didn’t travel comfortably and proved disappointing in its finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
GRAM – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 7 - XXXX BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP  1400M

EDITED BY – Rounding the home turn, bumped with LOCKYER when attempting to shift out to improve.
 
LARRIKIN ROGUE – Approaching the 200m, improved onto the heels of LOCKYER and was obliged to shift out.
 
GAMBINO – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MOONSHINE RUN. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
GRINZINGER CHAMP – Jockey B. Thompson reported his mount travelled well, however peaked on its run near the 100m and in his opinion may not have run out the 1400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Trainer J. Bruce advised he will have blood analysis of the mare conducted on return to the stable and report back to Stewards with the results. Trainer Bruce advised it is the intention to send the mare for a spell.
 
PIPISTRELLE – Apprentice J. Williams reported on return to scale that his mount raced flat and didn’t respond as anticipated when placed under pressure.
 
LOCKYER – Bumped at the start. Bumped rounding the home turn by EDITED BY which attempted to shift out to improve.
 
MOONSHINE RUN – Bumped at the start.
 
SUPERALLOY – Began awkwardly.
 
RUN LUCY RUN – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected and as a result began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
STARMAN – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 8 - DRINKWISE OPEN HANDICAP 1000M
 
CIFRADO – Raced in restricted room near the 800m when HE’S HEAVEN (G. Cartwright) shifted in when not clear. Jockey G. Cartwright was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TALTARNI FIELDS – Raced in restricted room near the 800m.
 
CHAKRA BOY – Began awkwardly.
 
KING YOSHI – Raced wide throughout. Jockey E. Lang was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(6)(b) for using her whip in an action which raises her arm above shoulder height.
 
POLYGLOT – Began awkwardly.
 
TOWN CRIER – As jockey D. Moor was overweight, he was replaced by jockey J. Bayliss. Subsequently, jockey Moor was fined $100 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. Raced keenly in the middle stages and improved onto heels near the 500m. Jockey J. Bayliss had his whip accidently struck out of his hand by the rider of KING YOSHI near the 250m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HURTS SO GOOD – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Near the 250m, steadied from the heels of KING YOSHI which shifted out marginally.
 
HE'S HEAVEN – Began awkwardly. Trainer D. Forster reported the gelding returned to the enclosure with its tongue over the bit and it is her intention to experiment with the addition of a tongue tie.
 
THELWELL – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Obliged to alter course approaching the 300m to obtain clear running. Near the 200m, obliged to shift in to obtain clear running.
 

Race 9  - CENTURY POOLS BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP          1600M
 
CUNNAMULLA FELLA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
NORTH POLE – Put its head down as the start was effected and lost ground. Raced wide until the 1100m.
 
LAST COMMAND – Began awkwardly and bumped with CHAYSE ‘N’ ARTIE.
 
VIMINELE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice B. Youngberry was fined $100 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for using her whip on consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
 
LIVALITTLE (NZ) – Jockey D. Moor pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m, 14 in totality. Jockey Moor’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days, to commence at midnight 5th September 2026 and to conclude at midnight 12th September 2026.
 
NAVAL SEAL – Change of tactics; to be further forward if circumstances permit. Settled in a midfield position.
 
CHAYSE 'N' ARTIE – Began awkwardly and bumped with LAST COMMAND.
 
RATTLE AND HUM (IRE) – Jockey T. Marshall was reminded of his obligations when using his whip out of contention. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.  
 
BARBRAY – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 10 - LADBROKES POPULAR SRM BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP 1200M
 
GIVE GIGGLES (NZ) – Began awkwardly and then bumped with SLIPPIN’ JIMMY. Laid in near the 1100m. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Approaching the 100m, improved onto the heels of OUROBOROS and shifted in.
 
SLIPPIN' JIMMY – Began awkwardly and then bumped with GIVE GIGGLES. Near the 1100m, steadied from the heels of GIVE GIGGLES which laid in despite the efforts of its rider. Laid out rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
COSMO CENTAURUS – Apprentice J. Franklin reported his mount failed to travel in the early and middle stages despite his urgings, however finished the race off well in the home straight. Cast its off fore plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
OUROBOROS – Jockey B. Thornton reported his mount raced keenly in the lead and failed to settle into a comfortable rhythm which he believes had a detrimental effect on its finishing efforts.

BRAVEHEART – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
CASPERNOVA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up in the early stages of the home straight until shifting wider approaching the 300m.
 
BEAUX RUMBLE – Raced wide without cover throughout.

HELL TO PAY – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SURPRISE HONEY – Held up rounding the home turn.
