STEWARDS REPORT

EINASLEIGH RACE CLUB

SATURDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2025

WEATHER – Overcast       TRACK RATING –   Dirt  - Good 3                        RAIL – True

OFFICIALS

Chairman of Stewards – S. Copelin.
Stewards – R. Neal.

RACE 1: W. TITLEY & CO Maiden Plate 1020 Metres.

MUSIC GIRL – Raced keenly in the early stages, raced ungenerously in the middle stages.

URIS – On weighing in jockey Ms. A Thomson advised stewards in the early stages of the race that the horse did not feel entirely comfortable on today’s going and required it to be urged forward at that point to keep in touch with the leaders.

MISS PIERATA – In regard to the scratching after nominations of the filly MISS PEIRATA, Trainer Mr, Fred Wieland provided advice to stewards that he was not entirely happy with its trackwork early Thursday, and later that morning the filly was identified to have an elevated temperature. He then decided to scratch MISS PEIRATA from this meeting also taking into consideration a lengthy float trip to Einasleigh and return trip to Cairns would not be in the best interests regarding the filly’s welfare. Stewards noted his explanation.

RACE 2: SAVANNALANDER PAST MEMBERS MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1020 Metres.

FLY WITH YOU – On weigh in App. T. LESLIGHT reported he believed the gelding’s had been disadvantaged immediately after jumping by the barrier wing rebounding and wished to view the race footage with a view to having his mount declared a non-runner.  After viewing the only available footage and then speaking with the starter and the head on stewards’ observation of the start, FLY WITH YOU was declared a runner in the race and correct weight was given on the judges semaphored numbers.

ABSCONDED WITNESS – Struggled to maintain contact with the field in the early and middle stages and then made ground from the 300 metres over the final stages of the race. Rider App. L Guernier reported the gelding resented the kickback in the early stages.

FRAMED IT – Rider W. D’Avila reported to stewards the mare failed to handle todays Good 3 surface.

REEMYA – Stewards inquired into the improved performance of the mare and stable representative fore-person R. Ryan stated the mare had been performing well in its trackwork over the past fortnight and it normally races well on firm rated tracks. He stated its run in a race on Cairns Amateur Cup Day on a Good 4 track he was confident the mare would be a winning chance today. Stewards noted the explanation by Mr. Ryan.

RACE 3: HUNGRY POSSUM BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1020 Metres.

GUAPO – Began awkwardly and settled at the tail of the field. Correct weight was delayed when the rider Ms. A THOMSON requested to view the race footage over the last 100 metres. After viewing the race footage, the correct weight was given on the judges semaphored numbers. Raced in restricted room over the final 100 metres. Rider A THOMSON stated in her opinion the gelding was uncomfortable on today’s going.

ELLIE’S DREAM – Raced in a forward in a three wide position and contested the lead for the majority of the race.

RACE 4: GENEX POWER QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 Handicap 1220 Metres.

BLONDIE’S SECRET – Began awkwardly.

BRING ME TO LIFE – Slow into stride.

BEAN WARRIOR – Raced forward in a leading position.

JUST FOR PLEASURE – Moved wide when making a run rounding the home turn and finished the race off in the middle of the track.

MISHANI PERFECTION – Trainer Ms. K Russell advised stewards the reason for the late nomination of rider for the mare at this meeting. Stewards noted and accepted the reason; however, she was also advised that in future she needs to timely comply with the provisions of LR. 67(1) regarding the declaration of riders. Slow into stride and raced at the rear of the field.

FIVE BULLS – Presented at the mounting yard with the incorrect gear (blinkers instead of winkers). Given all the factors and including a good record in regard for this offence, stable representative foreperson R. Ryan was reprimanded under AR 106 for presenting the gelding with the incorrect gear.

RACE 5: THE EINASLEIGH CUP – the race that stops the town! OPEN Handicap 1620 Metres

LOVE ON SUNDAY – Led for the majority of the race.

BOOGIE WONDERLAND – Stewards spoke to Jockey Ms. R Shred who had ridden her mount forward from the barriers and made the turn out of the straight the first time awkwardly. Jockey Shred stated it was not her intention to lead, but after beginning better than expected, she elected to push forward to take up a leading position, however, was unable to cross LOVE ON SUNDAY racing to her inside along the rail. She then remained one off the rail outside that horse and at approximately 1400 metres point whilst in the process of making the turn the gelding then came off the bridle and laid out momentarily despite her efforts and made the turn awkward and lost ground. Ms Shred’s explanation was noted by the stewards.

MISSION HOUSE – At the 1400 metres after the turn out of the straight the first time, had to be restrained when awkwardly caught on the heels of BOOGIE WONDERLAND which momentarily laid out.

DEVIL KICK – Raced just off pace for the majority of the race. Stewards inquired into the improved performance of the mare and trainer A. Malliff stated the mare had been doing well in trackwork over the past week, and with today’s race being at its preferred distance of 1600 metres he expected the mare to be very competitive in this race. Stewards noted the explanation by Mr. Malliff.
