Trainer G Bell reported that INDY MISS had pulled well following its engagement on this day. Blood tests results taken returned without abnormality. Ms Bell further stated the horse would be restricted to grass tracks in future.
Apprentice L Dodds was reprimanded for failing to claim his full allowance on FADED.
GENERAL
Apprentice L Dodds was fined $300 for failing to claim his full allowance on his four engagements (Race 1 SANTA FE DREAMING, Race 2 CHILLI CON CARNE, Race 4 GOIN’ CRAZY, Race 5 FADED). In determining penalty, Stewards were mindful of his guilty plea, personal circumstances involved and that he had not been replaced on any mount.
Race 1: Fairbairn Bakery QTIS Class 1 Handicap- 1000 metres
RED RYDER- Slow to begin.
GEARSTICK- Began awkwardly and lost ground.
HONEY BLONDE- Jumped in onto another runner and then hampered by runner to the outside and lost ground.
CRYSTALS’N’PEARLS- Leaving the 900 metres, over-raced for a short distance.
BRAGLON- Raced wide throughout.
EKKAREEZA- Near 100 metres, shifted ground under pressure.
Race 2: Emerald Garden Creations Maiden Plate- 1100 metres
LITTLE BOMBER- Reared over in barrier. Acting on veterinary advice, Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching at 2.07pm. On the declaration of correct weight, all monies invested on LITTLE BOMBER were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to apply on winning bets;
SISTER WHISKEY- 0c win, 2cents place
TICATIME- 6cents place
MISHANI TRADER- 6 cents place
Trainer G Teal was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further certificate prior to its next start.
SISTER WHISKEY- Began awkwardly.
TICATIME- Raced wide until near the 700 metres. Heavy contact with another runner at the start, taken in onto inside runner and then shifted out onto another runner. Leaving the 300 metres, another runner shifted out and bumped on two occasions in the straight. Returned to enclosure with blood in its mouth.
MR HARPER- Jumped in and made heavy contact with another runner.
Race 3: Cliff Tucker Plumbing Class 4 Handicap- 1100 metres
FAIRBRAE- As the mare had not raced in 12 months, a pre-race veterinary inspection cleared it to start. Slow to begin. A post-race vet inspection blood in mouth from small laceration to its tongue.
COURTMAN- Raced wide throughout.
SOLIDIFY- Raced wide throughout.
Jockey D. Evans was fined $200 for use of his whip on one occasion when pass the winning post. (AR 137A 4(e))
Race 4: David Lowery Diesel Repairs Class B Handicap- 1180 metres
THE ALAMO- Made contact with another runner at the start.
LUCKY BOBBY- Made contact with another runner at the start.
COOL TRICK- Blundered on jumping, made contact with another runner and raced ungenerously for a short distance.
GOIN CRAZY- Raced wide throughout. A post-race vet inspection revealed a minor laceration to its off hind.
SHUFFLES- Slow to begin.
INTRUDING- Raced three wide throughout.
Race 5: CD Adams Real Estate BM 65 Handicap - 1615 metres
GREAT DANSAAR- Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.
ONLY ONE ANNIE- Raced wide throughout.
