Race 1: Anzac Memorial Class B Handicap- 1000 metres

ELLE STYLE- Explanation for the late declaration of Jockey D. Evans was accepted. Slow into stride, jumped in and made contact with hindquarters of another runner.

SPOTTED EAGLE- When M. Abe advised he was unable to arrive on course due to mechanical problems with his vehicle, he was replaced by App N Summers, when no other senior riders were available. Jockey Abe was directed to provided evidence of his failure to arrive.

TENNESSEE WOMAN- Slow to begin, raced wide from the 400 metres and hung out near the 250 metres and continued to lay out in the straight.

LIGHTMEUP LUCKY- Slow to begin. Tightened and blundered when another runner lay in shortly after the start.

WAR DRAKE- Shortly after the start, lay in and tightened another runner. Apprentice Krogh was reprimanded and advised to use greater effort to prevent his mount from shifting ground. Raced wide throughout.

WORTH THE TIME- Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Ian Cornish Memorial QTIS Maiden Plate- 1200 metres

ENTIRE SAVINGS- Due to personal reasons, Jockey J Stephens did not fulfil his engagement and Jockey S Sheargold was substituted. Over-raced for a short distance near the 900 metres. Contact with another runner which shifted out near the 100 metres.

HAYYLER’S HOPE- Made contact with outside fence in preliminary with its hind legs. On arrival at the barrier underwent a veterinary inspection and was passed to start. Slow into stride and lost ground.

MY WINDOW SILL- Slow to begin and commenced to yield ground in the middle stages and tailed the field throughout. Given its recent form, the Stewards will seek further information from the trainer in consideration of any embargo that may be placed on the mare.

MAXADRAMA- Shifted out and contacted another runner shortly after the start. Over-raced in the early stages. Taken inwards near the 1000 metres.

SPECIAL NELL- Contact with another runner shortly after the start. Near the 100 metres, contact with another runner.

SQUARE’S POCKET- Jumped out onto another runner.

IN RECOVERY- Contact with another runner at the start.

BOOMTOWN GIRL- Rolled out near the 100 metres and bumped another runner.

TRACKER- Raced wide throughout.

SIR PILGRIM- Rolled in near the 1000 metres. Shifted out slightly near the 100 metres.

Race 3: Anne Murray & Co Solicitors Class 3 Plate- 1200 metres

LOVE THE BUSH- Declared a late scratching at 8.05am on veterinary certificate when injured in the float.

JUST FOR KEEPS- Stood flat footed and lost ground (10 lens). Trainer’s representative was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start.

HILLCREST- Trainer advised Stewards it was intended to ride the gelding forward if possible given its barrier. Began awkwardly, slow to begin and raced at rear of the field.

HAYYLER’S DRAGON- Lay out near the 900 metres.

Race 4: Route 66 Emerald Newmarket Open Handicap- 1200 metres

CYCLONE BILLY- Lunged forward in the barrier immediately prior to the start. Slow to begin. Rider reported the gelding had been reluctant to stretch out throughout.

CHERISHTHETHOUGHT- Raced wide throughout.

LEGAL DANCER- Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Murray & Associates (Qld) Pty Ltd BM 60 Handicap - 1615 metres

No racing incidents

Race 6: Qantaslink Emerald Cup Open Handicap - 1615 metres

Due to a programming error, the distance of this race was advertised as 1635 metres when it was to be run over 1615 metres. All trainers were advised and given the opportunity to scratch prior to the race.

VAN ROSSUM- Trainer advised Stewards that given the perceived lack of pace in the race, he would instruct that the gelding to be ridden forward. Ridden keenly behind the leader in the early and middle stages.

NOBODY’S BOY- Explanation for late declaration of Jockey A Butler was accepted.

FERMENT- Jumped with its head in the air, unbalanced the rider and lost ground.
