GENERAL
Due to the postponement of the Wellington meeting all race times were rescheduled as follows;
Race 1: 1.35pm
Race 2: 2.10pm
Race 3: 2.50pm
Race 4: 3.25pm
Race 5: 4.05pm
Race 6: 4.40pm
Race 7: 5.20pm
 
The following horses were subject of a pre-race veterinary examination after competing within the previous seven days and were all cleared to race.
 
Race 1: MISHANI PHAROAH, MISHANI DREAMER, MISHANI TSUNAMI
Race 5: MASONS CHANCE
Race 6: PURE RUBICK
 
Race 1:EMERALD 100 9TH OCTOBER QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1300 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 18 minutes owing to the bridle of THE APPOINTED TIME becoming loose and having to be reapplied after being loaded into the barriers. The start was further delayed after SPANISH BEANS became cast in the gates resulting in all runners having to be unloaded from the barriers.
 
JACK'S ECHO – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding rider A Butler could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. He added that JACK’S ECHO is better suited leading and may not have suited racing back in the field.
 
SPANISH BEANS – Was declared a late scratching at 1.40pm on veterinary advice after becoming cast in the barriers. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 1.40pm as following: 
Win Bets - MISHANI PHAROAH - 19 cents
Place Bets - MISHANI PHAROAH - 30 cents
Place Bets (For 2nd) - MISHANI DREAMER - 26 cents
All monies bet after the Stewards' declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Trainer D. Reynolds was advised that SPANISH BEANS would require a veterinary clearance and obtain a further barrier certificate prior to accepting for a future race start.
THE APPOINTED TIME – Was declared a late scratching 1.54pm after becoming fractious in the barriers. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 1.54pm as following: 
Win Bets - MISHANI PHAROAH - 0 cents
Place Bets - MISHANI PHAROAH - 7 cents
Place Bets (For 2nd) - MISHANI DREAMER - 6 cents
All monies bet after the Stewards' declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race start.
MISHANI PHAROAH – Laid in over the early stages of the event and again at the bend by the 800m.
 
MISHANI DREAMER – Over raced during the early stages and laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
Race 2: SOUTHERN CROSS TERMITE & PEST CONTROL Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
Owning to the lengthy delay with race one the start of race two was rescheduled to start at 2.20pm
 
SETHLANS – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
FAIRYBOWER FLYER – laid out in the early stages. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
MORATA – Raced wide throughout.
 
MORE THAN CHARGED – Hampered on jumping away. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
PAPILIO – Raced wide throughout.
 
RUSKI – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 600m had to be steadied after improving onto heels.
 
SHIRAISHI – Over raced early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure on entering the home straight and commenced to race greenly over the concluding stages. Rider L Tilley reported that he was accidently struck by the whip of FAVOURITE THINGS passing the 100m.
 
PIERROTTI – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being fractious enroute to the track and was passed fit to start. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
ROUND THE FIRE – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Raced wide throughout.
 
TRICKY BEANS – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities

Following the running of this event, Jockey L. Tilley was examined by the Queensland Ambulance Officers and was passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
Race 3: THANK YOU CENTRAL HIGHLANDS REGIONAL COUNCIL BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1000 metres
 
KARENO – Over raced early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
BEGIN – Raced wide during the early stages.
 
ROSAIRE – Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 4:THANK YOU RACING QUEENSLAND Class 6 Plate 1000 metres
 
GODFATHER'S GIRL – Over raced early and middle stages.
 
ACTON SHALE – Raced wide throughout
 
MAGIC TRICK – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
TANG DYNASTY – Slow to begin.
 
LOUIE THE LEGEND – Slow into stride.
 
MY BEST EFFORT – Became awkwardly placed on heels passing the 500m.
 
Race 5: EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB OPEN Handicap 1300
 
RATHER SALUBRIOUS (NZ) – Disappointed for a run on entering the home straight and was unable to be fully tested over the final 100m.
 
FRATELLINO – Over raced early and middle stages.
 
REVENIRE – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding her riding of REVENIRE rider T Chambers stated that after being slow to begin she used her mount early to recover to a handy position. She was reluctant to place her mount under extra pressure in the middle stages in an attempt to maintain her position on the back of FRATELLINO as her mount was travelling and didn’t want to expose the gelding early. She further advised she raced in restricted room near the 600m and elected to ease her mount to relieve the pressure. She lastly added that she improved her position over the early stages of the run home and had every opportunity. Stewards noted her explanation.
 
HI HARRY – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
QUART POT – Raced wide in the early and middle stages
 
ARCHER'S TREASURE – Laid in under pressure in the straight
 
Race 6: TAB RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 Handicap 1300 metres
 
CLIFF'S CHOICE – Over raced early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities
 
BONVILLE (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
PROMPT REPLY – Slow to begin. Had to be restrained passing the 500m after improving onto heels. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
PLENTY OF TICKER – Rider reported his mount hung in throughout the event.
 
CASSAVANCE – Over raced early and middle stages.
 
KOSCINA – Over raced early and middle stages.
 
SFILZA – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 7: TWO AT A THYME CATERING BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1615 metres
 
Prior to declaration of correct weight being declared the connections of the second placed GEOFFROY wish to view the photo finish. After viewing the photo correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.
 
GEOFFROY – Laid outwards over the final stages.
 
SEJANA – Slow to begin.
 
DELIUS – Rider J Baker accidently dropped his whip passing the 200m.
 
KEIRETSU – Raced keenly while leading through the early and middle stages.
 
CHLOE JADE – Raced wide through the early stages.
 
FRASCATI MISS (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room for the majority of the home straight to the inside of SEJANA. Apprentice rider E. Bell rider of SEJANA was advised to exercise more caution after allowing her mount to shift ground inwards.
 
NEPTUNE'S WINK – Over raced early and middle stages placing rider T Chambers in difficulty.
 
DIAMOND ACCOUNT – Slow to begin. Apprentice rider A Donald was reprimanded for using her whip on one more occasion than permitted pursuant to AR132(5). When considering penalty Stewards took into account this was Ms Donald’s first breach of this rule.
