GENERAL
Trainer Trevor Williams was reprimanded under AR251 for having in his possession an instrument which could be used to administer a prohibited substance (Powerade Bottle).
 
Following the running of race 1 Stewards intend to inquire into an alleged incident at approximately the 500m involving Apprentice Liv O’Donnell and Brooke Johnson, the inquiry was adjourned to allow Liv O’Donnell suitable representation. The inquiry will be reconvened at a time and date to be determined.
 
Apprentice Liv O’Donnell was fined $200 in race 5 under AR143(14)(a) when she was unable to claim her full allowance when she was booked to ride HYPERION STAR, subsequently under AR143(14)(b) stewards replaced Apprentice Liv O’Donnell on HYPERION STAR by another suitable 2kg claiming apprentice.
 
Race 1: McMAHON CONTRACTORS PTY LTB CLASS B Handicap 1000m

GRAND ASCENT – Inclined to hang inwards leaving the 200m.

PREPPERS BULLION – Over raced in the early stages.       

REAL QUEEN – Began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Passing the 500m checked off the heels of SILENT ANGEL when it shifted outwards and lost ground.      

SILENT ANGEL- Passing the 500m shifted out causing REAL QUEEN to check and lose ground. Apprentice O’Donnell was reprimanded under AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance.
 
Race 2: CENTURION BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000m
 
JACK O’DIAMONDS – Began Awkwardly. Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
ISSHEGREY - Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 3: HELLOWORLD EMERALD BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1200m
 
PHOSPHER BRONZE – Jumped out at the start bumping AWESOME SPIRIT. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
AWESOME SPIRIT - Bumped at the start by PHOSPHER BRONZE.
 
ELECTRIC SPIRIT – Blundered on jumping.
 
INFORMER – Raced wide in the middle stages. A post-race veterinarian examination failed to show any significant abnormalities.
 
Race 4: P & J YOUNG CONCRETE & CONSTRUCTION Class 6 Plate 1200m
 
Following the running of race 3 Jockey J. Felix became ill and could not continue riding for the remainder of the race meeting. He was subsequently replaced by Jockey W. D’Avila on LILY ALLEZ in this event.
 
SCHWEID AS – Over raced in the early stages.
 
JABALI GOLD – Jumped in the air at start.
 
DAWSON DIAMOND – Hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LILY ALLEZ – Jumped in at the start. Raced wide over the early stages.
 
STARHATTAN – Slow to begin. When question on the below market expectations of the mare trainer Trevor Williams could offer no explanation other than the mare missing the start. A subsequent post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Apprentice O’Donnell was reprimanded under AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance.
 
 
Race 5: EMERALD FORD BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1615m
 
Prior to the running of race 5 stewards replaced Apprentice Liv O’Donnell on HYPERION STAR pursuant to AR134(14)(b) by Brooke Johnson another 2kg claiming apprentice due to apprentice Liv O’Donnell being unable to claim her full allowance.
 
Following the running of race 3 Jockey J. Felix became ill and could not continue riding for the remainder of the race meeting. He was subsequently replaced by non-claiming Apprentice T. Fenlon on AURON in Race 5.
 
Following the running of race 4 Jockey A.Butler became ill and could not continue riding for the remainder of the race meeting. He was subsequently replaced by Apprentice L. O’Donnell on OSLEN in Race 5, Due to no other available rider.
 
SUPER BAZOOKA - Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
AURON – Jumped outwards at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Upon returning to the scales apprentice T. Fenlon reported that the gelding failed to handle the soft track conditions.
 
OSLEN- Jumped out at the start. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
HYPERION STAR – Raced greenly in the home straight.
