TRACK RATING – Good 4
RAIL – TRUE

OFFICIALS

Stewards – E. Suli

GENERAL

Following a track inspection prior to the running of race 1, the track was upgraded to a good 4.

Stewards approved overweights as per the race day summary.

Following the running of Race 2 over the 1100m, Stewards identified that the official race time recorded was close to the existing track record. Given the class of the event being a maiden, stewards questioned the Starter and Track Curator regarding the positioning of the barriers. It was observed that no official distance markers were present at the 1100m start point. Both officials advised that the barriers were placed in the location customarily utilised for 1100m starts at meetings in the past. They further explained that this position aligns with a section of the rail which can be adjusted to allow the barriers to be moved on and off the course proper. The track curator was advised that a distance marker at the 1100m is required to be erected prior to the next race meeting.
