GENERAL
The trach was upgraded to Good 3 following the running of race 2.
 

RACE 1:CENTRAL HIGHLANDS EASTER SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL / ALTONA, MANITOBA BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP   1000 M

HIGH SECURITY – Laid inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

HONOURBEFORE GLORY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 700m raced in restricted room when OFFICE POLITICS laid inwards despite the efforts of its rider and had to be momentarily restrained.

OFFICE POLITICS – Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 700m upon joining the course proper, laid inwards despite the efforts of its rider and placed HONOURBEFORE GLORY in restricted room.

LOADED WEAPON – Bumped on jumping by TOO MANY KISSES. Over raced in the early stages. Hung inwards under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride out over the concluding stages.
 
TOO MANY KISSES – Began awkwardly bumping LOADED WEAPON. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Jockey W D’Avilla reported that in his opinion the mare may have choked down over the final stages.
 


RACE 2: EMERALD CARRYING COMPANY OPEN HANDICAP 1000M

JUST SUPER – Bumped on jumping by WRITTLE. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards when under pressure in the home straight.
 
WRITTLE – Began awkwardly bumping JUST SUPER. Raced keenly in the early stages. Jockey W D’Avilla reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.
 
THE SQUIRE – Bumped on jumping by MISSISSIPPI MORN.

MISSISSIPPI MORN – Began awkwardly bumping THE SQUIRE.
 

RACE 3: HELLOWORLD TRAVEL EMERALD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200M

DARK GLEAM – Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 300m was briefly inconvenienced and had to switch inwards across the heels of NEW LEVEL (NZ) when that runner shifted outwards to obtain clear racing room. Jockey W D’Avilla (NEW LEVEL (NZ)) was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding for permitting his mount to shift when insufficiently clear of other runners. Inclined to lay outwards under pressure in the home straight.

GRANITE PRINCE – Raced wide throughout.
 
NEW LEVEL (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages. Near the 300m shifted outwards to obtain clear racing room resulting in DARK GLEAM being briefly inconvenienced and switching inwards.
 
OUTBACK BANDIT – Brushed with OUTBACK STEP on jumping when that runner shifted outwards. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
OUTBACK STEP – Shifted outwards on jumping brushing with OUTBACK BANDIT.
 
SILENT ANGEL – Began awkwardly and bounded as the start was effected.
 

RACE 4: EMERALD FORD QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M

KENNY THE BAKER – Shifted outwards on jumping.

SPEED KING – Reared as the start was effected and was slow to begin as a result.  Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the early stages of the home straight then shifted outwards under pressure thereafter.

SAINT ANNS – Shortly after the start shifted inwards carrying POWERWISE inwards resulting in LUNA READY being briefly inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on heels. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

SEND THE MONEY – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Inclined to lay inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

THE JEAN GINA – Began awkwardly. When questioned in relation to the performance, jockey W D’Avilla stated that in his opinion the mare may be better suited to races over further distances, he further added that THE JEAN GINA would derive significant fitness benefit from today’s first up run. Trainer G Bell concurred with the comments of jockey D’Avilla. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
 
LUNA READY – Was fractionally slow to begin. Shortly after the start was briefly inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of POWERWISE when that runner was carried inwards by SAINT ANNS. Jockey C McIver (SAINT ANNS) was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

POWERWISE – Shortly after the start was carried inwards by SAINT ANNS resulting in LUNA READY being awkwardly placed in heels and briefly inconvenienced. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards when under pressure over the final 100m.
 

RACE 5: FARM & CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS / GOLDACRES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1615 M
 
BOLD HUSSAR – Began awkwardly and slow to begin. Over raced in the middle stages. Raced wide until a point near the 1000m. Near the 500m improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
 
REPLACE THE ACE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide in the early stages until a point near the 1000m. When questioned in relation to the performance trainer T Smith stated that he was not overly disappointed with the overall performance after the work that was endured in the early stages to obtain a favorable position outside the leader, He further added that the gelding was not afforded any respite due to the leader racing keenly during the middle stages.  

DWAYNE – Raced wide throughout. When questioned in relation to the performance trainer R Williams reported that in his opinion the gelding may have gotten its tongue over the bit in running proving detrimental over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer R Williams was advised that DWAYNE would have a warning placed on its record for a poor performance.
 
NOTACLUEHOWORWHO – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SO OUTRAGEOUS – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
GIGI FILLE – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.
 
JETPACK VERDI (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages.

PAMPUNI – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. When questioned in relation to the performance trainer G Bell advised that the mare may be in season which proved detrimental to PAMPUNI’s chances, she further added that the mare would be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer G Bell was advised that PAMPUNI would be stood down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial due to an uncompetitive performance.
