GENERAL

Following an inspection stewards upgraded the track to a Good 4 at 12pm.

Random urine samples were collected from jockeys participating at today’s meeting.

Due to a mechanical breakdown enroute to the course, trainer T Scholfield’s runners, ALL TOO VEGAS (race 2), SMASHING ROSIE (race 3) and ALL TOO LUCKY (race 6) were declared late scratchings at 10.05am.


RACE 1: TWO AT A THYME CATERING MAIDEN PLATE 1100 M

GUNNIE GUNFIGHTER – Fractious prior to the start. Began awkwardly and bumped by RUSHKI. Hampered shortly after the start when CELTIC LIGHT shifted outwards and slow to begin as a result. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

THREE TEES – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start became awkwardly placed on the heels of SUDDEN STRIKE when that runner bumped with RUSHKI. Trainer T Cook reported to stewards that the gelding was first up from a spell and would likely derive significant fitness benefit from the run.

RUSHKI – Began awkwardly bumping GUNNIE GUNFIGHTER. Raced wide until a point near the 800m. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Shortly after the start bumped with SUDDEN STRIKE and as a result THREE TEES became awkwardly placed on heels. Jockey W Satherley reported that his mount had raced greenly and was inclined to lay out throughout the event. He further added that RUSHKI would derive benefit from further race experience. Trainer G Bell concurred with jockey Satherley’s comments and stated that the gelding had not indicated during its work in the lead up, of a forward showing and may be better suited to races over a further distance

SUDDEN STRIKE – Bumped with RUSHKI shortly after the start and as a result THREE TEES became awkwardly placed on heels. Laid inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

LILY'S DASH – Laid outwards under pressure in the home straight.

SUNSHINE SALLY – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride as a result.

CELTIC LIGHT – Shifted outwards shortly after the start hampering GUNNIE GUNFIGHTER. Inclined to lay outwards on occasions during the run. Laid outwards under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice S Pointon reported that her mount had shied at a vehicle parked on the infield upon entering the home straight.

RACE 2: EMERALD FORD CLASS 1 PLATE 1000 M

GALATH (NZ) – Bumped with VIKING TREASURE shortly after the start. Over raced in the early stages when being restrained in an attempt to obtain cover. Raced wide in the early stages. Carried wider by UNTOLD STORY in the home straight.

AUGUST JOE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages.

EASTCOAST HUSSLER – Began awkwardly hampering VIKING TREASURE.

UNTOLD STORY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid outwards under pressure in then home straight carrying GALATH (NZ) wider on the track.

ASK ME HARRY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages.

SHEMAKESMENERVOUS – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Commenced to lay outwards approaching the 600m. Laid outwards under pressure in the home straight.

VIKING TREASURE – Hampered on jumping by EASTCOAST HUSSLER and bumped GALATH (NZ) shortly after the start and slow to begin as a result. When questioned in relation to the performance apprentice A Meissner stated that after beginning poorly the filly got further back than anticipated and as a result she elected to obtain a position with cover, the rider further added that VIKING TREASURE is better suited when racing on the speed.

RACE 3: AAA TILT TRAY TOWING CLASS 3 PLATE 1280 M

BIGCAT – Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted ground outwards under pressure in the home straight. Due to his lack of experience apprentice J Miller was spoken to advisedly to ensure he maintain a straight course when under pressure in the home straight.

TAPA KICK – Bumped LUNAR EIGHT on jumping and slow into stride.

ARMSTRONG BAY – Began awkwardly bumping with I’M STELLAR.

I'M STELLAR – Bumped on jumping with ARMSTRONG BAY. Near the 1200m bumped with LUNAR EIGHT when that runner shifted outwards. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards under pressure over the final 100m. When questioned regarding the performance jockey E Bell stated that after beginning well the mare commenced to over race and continued to do so throughout which proved detrimental to the finishing effort of I’M STELLAR.

LUNAR EIGHT – Began awkwardly bumping TAPA KICK. Near the 1200m shifted outwards and bumped with I’M STELLAR. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.

NOTFORTHEMONEY – Bumped on jumping with MONDAY CHOICE. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide early. Inclined to lay inwards in the early stages of the home straight.

STECARA – Awkwardly placed on the heels of BIGCAT upon entering the home straight.

MONDAY CHOICE – Began awkwardly bumping with NOTFORTHEMONEY. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.

RACE 4: CMF RURAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 M

SUMMER SIZZLING – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight.

I'M NOT GREY – Over raced onto the heels of THE STONE MASON near the 850m and had to be restrained, as a result VERY GRATEFUL was inconvenienced and shifted wider.

SPEED KING – Over raced in the early stages.

TOO MANY KISSES – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. Carried wider shortly before entering the home straight when VERY GRATEFUL shifted wider.

VERY GRATEFUL – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Carried TOO MANY KISSES wider shortly before entering the home straight. Laid inward under pressure in the home straight.

CRIMSON DECIPHER – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide in the early stages.

STARTLING CAT – Slow to begin. Inclined to shift ground outwards under pressure in the home straight.

FREDDIE EDDIE – Shifted ground outwards under pressure over the final 100m briefly impeding SILENT ANGEL over the conclusion stages. Apprentice N Olzard was reminded of her obligation to ensure that she maintains a straight course when under pressure in the home straight.

THE STONE MASON – Laid outwards under pressure over the final 100m. When questioned in relation to the improved performance trainer D Rewald stated that the gelding is first up for the stable from a spell and had been working well in the lead up to today’s event, he further added that he had expected a forward showing in today’s race.

SILENT ANGEL – Briefly impeded over the concluding stages when FREDDIE EDDIE shifted outwards and was unable to be fully tested in the final few strides.

RACE 5: FARM & CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS & GOLDACRES OPEN HANDICAP 1000 M

HURTLE – Began very awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

JUST SUPER – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Near the 50m had to be checked when DIDDLEY SQUAT shifted inwards when insufficiently clear. Jockey R Silvera Olivera (DIDDLEY SQUAT) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) for careless riding in which he carelessly permitted his mount to shift inwards resulting in JUST SUPER having to check and lose its rightful run. Jockey Olivera was subsequently suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 6/7/26 to conclude midnight 14/7/26.

WRITTLE – Knuckled on jumping. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.

DIDDLEY SQUAT – Began awkwardly. Near the 50m shifted inwards when insufficiently clear of JUST SUPER resulting in that runner having to check.

DAIMYO (JPN) – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight.

SAILOR'S RUM – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

HIGHGROUND – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

RACE 6: MARABOON TAVERN QTIS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200 M

ACEDROD – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

MOORABINDA MICK – Began awkwardly bumping TIPSY TIGER. Over raced in the early stages and had to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions.

BETTA THAN PRESLEY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the early stages of the home straight and commenced to shift outwards over the final 100m.

BORN FEARLESS – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Raced wide from the 600m in an attempt to improve. Apprentice S Pointon was reminded of her obligation in regards to her whip use when out of contention.

BAYERISCHE – Inclined to lay inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

OAKFIELD BADGER – Began awkwardly bumping TIPSY TIGER. Inclined to lay inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

LADY MASQUERADE – Began awkwardly.

TIPSY TIGER – Bumped by MOORABINDA MICK and OAKFIELD BADGER on jumping.

HARD TO DISMISS – Began awkwardly and was a fraction slow to begin as a result.

RACE 7: FLEXIHIRE EMERALD RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1630 M

DESERT STAR – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

CRYPTOLOGY – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.

JETPACK VERDI (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages.

PANDA DRUM – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards when under pressure in the home straight.

FINAL MISSION – Over raced in the early and middle stages.

BOOM CRUSHER – Raced wide in the early stages.

SHINY LOVE (NZ) – Shifted outwards over the final 50m when under pressure.

HERE'S TO POWER – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight.

KANTAI – Over raced in the early stages. Near the 100m stepped out abruptly when apprentice S Pointon momentarily lost use of her right rein.

MR GREY – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages.
