GENERAL
Overweight permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Due to jockey Tasha Chambers being stood down from riding at Atherton on 19 September 2026, rider replacements were permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Following a track inspection by stewards at 12pm the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
 
Race 1 - HWC BUILDING CONTRACTORS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000M
 
LOVE OF MINE – Slow into stride. Overraced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed that the horse may have pinched a testicle during the run. Trainer Bob Davie stated that he would consult with the ownership group regarding the horse’s racing future. Nonetheless, the trainer was advised that a warning would be placed on LOVE OF MINE’s record for poor performance (beaten 23 lengths).

BULLRUN – Shifted inwards at the start, impeding EARLY EDITION.  

EMINEN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Inclined to hang inwards under pressure in the home straight.

READY FOR IT – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages.  

EARLY EDITION – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Began awkwardly and was slow to begin before being impeded by BULLRUN, which shifted inwards soon after the start. Near the 150m, had to be eased and shift wider to avoid the tiring READY FOR IT. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure over the final stages.  

LOQUITO – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.

SAINT ANNS – Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.            


Race 2 - CONVEYOR PARTNERS QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1630M
 
PRIDE OF SAVABELLA – Began awkwardly and, as a result, was slow to begin. Shifted wider near the 600m in an attempt to improve. On returning to scale, jockey Warwick Satherley advised stewards he was somewhat disappointed with the performance and felt the horse may have been better suited ridden more conservatively, rather than improving around the field through the middle stages and being required to make a long, sustained run from the rear.

FINAL COMMENT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after FINAL COMMENT got its near-foreleg through its reins prior to the entering the mounting yard and became fractious. FINAL COMMENT was subsequently cleared to start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.  

NITROGEN – Began awkwardly. In the early stages of the home straight, shifted outwards from the heels of FINAL COMMENT to obtain clear running and was inclined to lay inwards thereafter.

MASALI RAFFA – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Jockey Todd Banks was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out fully to the finish. In making this determination, Stewards could not be satisfied that the lack of effort of jockey Banks comprised the finishing position of his mount given the manner in which MASALI RAFFA was yielding ground over the final stages.   

I WANT IT ALL – Began awkwardly and was hampered soon after the start by PANDA DRUM which shifted inwards.

PANDA DRUM – Shifted inwards soon after the start, hampering I WANT IT ALL. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.            


Race 3 - AAA TILT TRAY TOWING BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1280M

BOLD SMUGGLER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

LONERGY – Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.

LUNAR EIGHT – In the early stages of the home straight, had to be momentarily steadied from the heels of EASTCOAST HUSSLER.

OZZIE INVADER – Began awkwardly and, as a result, was slow to begin. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

EASTCOAST HUSSLER – Bumped by MISSION RIDGE at the start.

TOO MANY KISSES – Shifted wider passing the 500m.

MISSION RIDGE – Proved difficult to load. Trainer Gary Teal was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record for proving difficult to load. Shifted inwards at the start, bumping EASTCOAST HUSSLER. Raced wide in the early stages until obtaining the lead near the 900m.  


Race 4 - THANKYOU RACING QUEENSLAND CLASS 6 PLATE              1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed due to Swan Hill race 5 running being behind schedule.
 
BAYERISCHE – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.  

STRAYA PRIDE – Brushed the inside running rail near the 1050m. Commenced to overrace thereafter and had to be steadied from the heels of WOODSTOCK ROCK near the 950m.

HUMBLE HERO – Began awkwardly and was very slow to begin as a result. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.

WOODSTOCK ROCK – Raced keenly in the early stages.

OUR EAGLE ROCK – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

ASTAPOR – Shifted wider on the track leaving the 500m.

ICHIBERU – Began awkwardly and, as a result, was slow to begin.

ELLIBABY – Raced keenly when wide in the early stages.


Race 5 - EMERALD ISUZU UTE CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200M

HOOROO – Began awkwardly and shifted outwards, bumping with TAKE THREE. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced greenly in the home straight and shifted outwards abruptly over the final stages.  

BRUTAL LASS – Stood flat footed as the start was effected (4L). Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. Trainer Rodney Hay was advised that BRUTAL LASS would be stood down to a satisfactory trial or jump-out for being flat footed prior to being permitted to race again.

CRUDO (NZ) – Began awkwardly and, as a result, was slow to begin.

HEROIC TALENT – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages.

TAKE THREE – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards, bumping with HOOROO. Overraced noticeably in the early stages. Raced greenly in the home straight and had to be corrected by its rider on a number of occasions.

QUEEN OF LIGHT (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages. Jockey Warwick Satherley reported that QUEEN OF LIGHT (NZ) travelled only fairly and had failed to respond to his riding over the final stages. Trainer Glenda Bell advised stewards that it would be the intention for the mare to be sent for a spell.  

BOOM CRUSHER – Began awkwardly. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.


Race 6 - MARABOON TAVERN OPEN HANDICAP 1000M
 
PRE EMINENCE – Slow to begin. Shifted inwards near the 80m, impeding TOKYO SINS.  

OUTBACK ACTION – Very slow to begin.

SUNNYCOAST – Began awkwardly and blundered shortly afterwards.

KALASHNIKOV – Began very awkwardly.
 
MISSISSIPPI MORN – Began awkwardly.

SAILOR'S RUM – Shifted outwards near the 80m, impeding TOKYO SINS. When asked for a comment on the performance, jockey Warwick Satherley explained that his mount had to endure some work in the initial stages from the wide barrier draw, but travelled relatively well, however failed to respond to his riding urges over the final stages and went to the line in a disappointing manner.
 
TOKYO SINS – Laid inwards when placed under pressure in home straight. Near the 80m, was impeded for clear running when PRE EMINENCE shifted inwards and SAILOR’S RUM shifted outwards. As a consequence, TOKYO SINS was unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages. Jockeys Julie Busuttin (PRE EMINENCE) and Warwick Satherley (SAILOR’S RUM) were reminded of their obligations to maintain a straight course when riding their mounts out under pressure.
 

Race 7 - FAIRBAIRN BAKERY BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000M
 
HIGH SECURITY – Inclined to lay inwards rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.  

TWOEXCEL – Began awkwardly. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.  

I'M STELLAR – Dipped at the start. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.

GUNBOAT – Raced wide throughout.  

SPEED KING – Slow to begin.  

SCARLET HAZE – Shifted outwards soon after the start, bumping ANTHROPOLOGY.

ANTHROPOLOGY – Began awkwardly and was hampered between SCARLET HAZE and PENROD soon after the start. Inclined to lay outwards under pressure in the home straight and had to be corrected by its rider on a number of occasions.

PENROD – Shifted inwards soon after the start, hampering ANTHROPOLOGY. Laid outwards when placed under pressure over the final 100m.   

SILENT ANGEL – Began awkwardly. Rounding the home turn and entering the home straight, was inclined to lay inwards and became awkwardly placed at the heels of HIGH SECURITY for a number of strides before shifting wider.
