MISS TYPIN – Jumped in at the start and bumped another runner.
LADY SCHILLER – App S Palmer was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that at a point inside the 100 metres he directed his mount to the inside of CASUAL CONNECTIONS where there was insufficient room, resulting in App Palmer being almost dislodged, and LADY SCHILLER blundering and losing ground. S Palmer was suspended for a period of two country meetings to commence midnight 4 July 2015 up to and including midnight 18 July 2015.
RACE 2: MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres
Stewards permitted MCFADDEN, which was listed to carry blinkers, to race without that gear after an undertaking from trainer’s representative Mr C Gillespie that the horse does not carry this gear. Stewards will make further inquiries with Racing Australia to confirm this advice.
MONTE AGAR – Taken inwards by another runner near 100 metres.
HE’S EASY GOING – Slow to begin.
STORM ANCHOR – Raced wide throughout.
ALOFTHYM – App H Philips pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 100 metres she made insufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in resulting in MONTE AGAR being taken in and across the rightful running of PINK CHAPERONE which had to be checked. App Philips was suspended for a period of one country meeting to commence midnight 11 July 2015 up to and including midnight 18 July 2015. In assessing penalty stewards took into account H Phillip’s good record and guilty plea.
CHICKS DIG ME – Shifted in near the 1000 metres resulting in another runner being taken in. App B Ainsworth was advised to exercise care in similar circumstances.

PINK CHAPERONE – Taken inwards by another runner near the 1000 metres. Checked near the 100 metres and lost significant ground.

FLOWER OF YOUTH – Jumped outwards at the start tightening another runner. When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer B Robinsion explained this was only the geldings fourth race start and whilst FLOWER OF YOUTH had been working well leading into the event he was surprised by the forward showing today. Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Mr Robinson.

BEYOND THE STORM – Raced wide for majority of the event.

FLAMINGO ROSE – Tightened at the start between runners and lost ground.
RACE 4: MAIDEN HDCP 1460 Metres
TE RANGI – When questioned regarding the below market performance, App B Ainsworth stated despite being caught wide early in the event the gelding did not finish the race off as expected, and her opinion was disappointing. Trainer A Fisher advised that it was now his intention to spell TE RANGI.
SIR EARLSTOUN – Contacted by another runner near the 1200 metres.
UNIQUE TOMMY – Raced wide for majority of the event.
DIABLO NERO – App M Cox pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 1200 metres she permitted her mount to shift in resulting in SIR EARLSTOUN being taken in and across WATASTORY which had to be checked. M Cox was suspended for a period of seven meetings to commence midnight 4th July 2015 up to and including midnight 17th July 2015.
WATASTORY – Checked near the 1200 metres.
HIDE THE ACE – Difficult to load delaying the start. Trainer H Brown was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Stewards questioned App F Elliot over tactics adopted in the race, particularly her reason for applying sustained pressure from the 1200 metres until the 400 metres when racing in a 3 wide position outside the leaders. App Elliot stated she had been instructed by the trainer to be aggressive on the gelding and to maintain a forward position and not to restrain HIDE THE ACE as it has a tendency to drop the bit in its races. Trainer H Brown confirmed the instructions, however stewards advised App Elliot in their opinion she rode the gelding in a manner that did not allow it to finish the race off, and that in the future she show greater initiative and ride accordingly as the race presents itself.
RACE 5: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1460 Metres
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for CELTIC DRAGON (App D Daniel) being checked shortly after the start. After taking initial evidence from D Daniel and M O’Brien, rider of STAR THOMAS, stewards adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed to allow M O’Brien to fulfil commitments at the Toowoomba meeting.
GURU BAY – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
LUCKS IN – When questioned regarding the below market performance, App H Philips stated the gelding travelled well in the run until near the 400 metres, however when placed under pressure from that point failed to run on and in her opinion was disappointing. Trainer P Sexton subsequently advised stewards that LUCKS IN’s had pulled well following the event, and that he would monitor the geldings progress in the coming days and advise stewards of any condition that may come to light.
HI HI – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
HITMAN HARRY – Slow to begin. Raced widely for majority of the event.
