GENERAL
MYMILL in race 2 today was penalised 1.5kg as won on Friday 23.09.2022 at Ewan
 
Stewards permitted the following weight variations at today’s meeting:
Race 1 PURPLE HAT 56.6kg (+1.0kg)
Race 1 DON’T TELL LEEANNE 54kg (+1kg)
Race 1 RED BOOMSHAKALAKA 54kg (+3.5kg) as no other rider available.
Race 5 QUE CEE SPADE 55kg (+1.0kg)
 
Race 1: NQ DRY TROPICS/MCHARDIES WELD & BLAST Maiden Plate 800 metres
 
ALITA – Jumped awkwardly contacting RED BOOMSHAKALAKA.
 
JEAN LAFITTE – Improved on to heels approaching the 500m, then began to race ungenerously.
 
PURPLE HAT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as raced the prior day and was cleared to start.
 
CHESTERS IMPACT – Raced wide majority of the race.
 
DON’T TELL LEEANNE – Raced wide majority of the race.
 
RED BOOMSHAKALAKA – Stewards permitted Jockey N Day to ride 3.5kg overweight as no other jockey was available. Crowded for room shortly after the start.

Race 2: TURF N UP CAMP BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 800 metres
 
Weight was delayed allowing connections of 2nd (GODFATHER’S GIRL) to view the photo finish.
 
MYMILL – Penalised 1.5kg as won a race on the previous day. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as raced the prior day and was cleared to start. Raced wide throughout the race. Hung out on the home turn.
 
EXPLOSIVE GIRL – Inclined to shift in approaching the 600m.
 
ONE MORE FIELD – Slow into stride.
 
Race 3: PICKERINGS RAM/ALLINGHAM FAMILY QTIS Class 5 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Stewards delayed correct weight to view the film and take evidence from connections of FINAL WARNING which missed the start by a considerable margin. After viewing the available footage and the evidence put forward from connections and the starter, stewards were comfortable that FINAL WARNING leaped in the air as the gates opened and stewards declared FINAL WARNING an official starter.
 
FINAL WARNING – Fractious in the barriers. Leapt in the air as the gates opened with jockey M Abe contacting the barriers. Took no competitive part in the race. Trainer K Russell was advised that the gelding will have to trial to stewards satisfaction before starting again. Jockey M Abe was stood down for the remainder of his rides and will require a medical certificate before race riding again.
 
BOUND TO ME – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as raced the prior day and was cleared to start.
 
Race 4:PEACE BUILT/PURCELL PLUMBING BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1200 metres
 
REDZEB – Inclined to hang in, in the early stages of the race. Raced wide with cover.
 
ASSETS – Raced wide with cover.
 
READY MISTER MUSIC – Raced wide majority of the race.
 
SOLOMON – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
VEE EIGHT POWER – Jumped awkwardly.
 
GINGER MULE – Fractious in the barriers, leapt in the air at the start. Over raced approaching the 600m improving onto heels. Trainer S Seymour was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners. 
 
Race 5: CLARITY HEARING Class 4 Plate 1600 metres
 
EROE – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LAUDEYLOU – Raced wide in the home straight.
 
OWNED UP – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as raced the prior day and was cleared to start. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
QUE CEE SPADE –Jockey M Abe was replaced by Jockey P Cullen. Jumped awkwardly. Raced three (3) wide to the 1000m.
