SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

RACE 5:         BOWEN TYRE & MECHANICAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1470


Stewards have concluded the inquiry into rider Micheal McDonald’s riding of FALLGUY over the final stages of the race where he applied the whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100 metres (4 more than permitted). In consequence rider McDonald was charged, and admitted, a breach of AR 132(7)(a)(i), and in consequence rider McDonald’s licence to ride in races was suspended from the close of racing on Saturday 25th October 2025 up to and including racing on Saturday 1st November 2025 (7 days). Additionally, rider McDonald was severely reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying his whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres.
 

RACE 1:        CHARTERS TOWERS AMATEUR RACE CLUB QTIS           1000M
 
AZCONPETE – jumped in at the start.
WEBS – travelled wide for the majority of the race.
DAVIS JUNIOR – jumped out at the start hampering BOOM BUNNY: raced greenly over the final 300 metres.
BOOM BUNNY – hampered on jumping; lost contact in the early stages and failed to come on to the bridle for some distance, settling some distance behind the balance of the field. Given all circumstances trainer Mr Terry McGovern was advised that a warning had been placed on BOOM BUNNY’s racing performance.
SHEZA BARBAROSSA – jumped out abruptly at the start.
 
 
RACE 2:        PURCELL PLUMBING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP            1000M
 
CELEBRATION – jumped out at the start.
TEQUILA DANCER – travelled wide throughout; lay in under pressure approaching the post.
EGZAKLY – raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 100 metres.
PARDON THE PURR – travelled wide throughout.
LETHALLY STELLA – got back after the start from a wide barrier; had to steady approaching the post when laying in and becoming awkwardly placed near heels.
BLONDIE'S SECRET – travelled wide throughout.
SNIPILLICIOUS – travelled wide throughout.
 
RACE 3:         ENTERPRISE HOTEL RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP             1200M
 
RACATOON shifted in on jumping and bumped with MADAM BORODINA.
MADAM BORODINA – bumped at the start.
VANCOUVER BAY – rider Micheal McDonald accidently dropped his whip near the 250 metres; lay in over the concluding stages.
LINE OF KINGS – slow into stride; travelled wide from the 800 metres: lay in over the final 200 metres.
 
 
RACE 4:        MUSK MAINTENANCE & ELECTRICAL/PEACE BUILT       1300M
 
IRISH GIFT – was a late scratching at 1:44pm due to sustaining a laceration in the head area after becoming fraction in the tie-up stalls. On the announcement of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on IRISH GIFT be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 1:44pm
1st – LOOK AT ROSA 37 cents win / 31 cents place.
2nd – VAGABOND PRINCE - 31 cents place.
VAGABOND PRINCE - inclined to hang out throughout; laid out rounding the final turn. Rider Lacey Morrison reported that the gelding had been inclined to race greenly throughout.
FRENCH DRAGON – very slow into stride and settled back; raced very greenly for a distance when improving forward near the 900 metres.
FAITH OVER FEAR – Stewards questioned rider Micheal McDonald regarding him weighing in in excess of the permitted variance. In explanation rider McDonald stated that had rehydrated after weighing out, however also stated that this quantity of water consumed was considerable. Given all circumstances rider McDonald was reprimanded under AR211(1) and firmly reminded that if he needs to rehydrate then this should be undertaken prior to weighing out.
 
RACE 5:         KNUTH CONTRACTING & ELECTRICAL OPEN PLATE     1200M
 
REVVED UP READY – Stewards questioned rider Ms. Amanda Thomson regarding her riding of REVVED UP READY over the concluding stages after she relaxed her ride passing the 100 metres and did not ride the gelding out to the line. In explanation Ms. Thomson stated that she believed REVVED UP READY had come to the end of its run and that she was beaten for third placing at the time she relaxed her ride. The Stewards, while noting Ms. Thomson’s explanation nonetheless found that it was not acceptable in the circumstances for her to cease riding out when she did, particularly given that the margin between REVVED UP READY and the eventual 3rd placed PENNYPACKER was only 0.5 length at the finish of the race. While the Stewards could not determine that Ms. Thomson’s actions had denied her 3rd placing she was, as a consequence of her failing to ride REVVED UP READY out, was charged with a breach of AR131(b). Ms. Thomson denied the breach however the charge was found proved, and after consideration of all relevant factors a fine of $300.00 was imposed.
PERVADE (GB) – on returning to scale rider Jason Babarovich reported that he had not pursued PERVADE (GB) as he had concerns with the gelding’s actions. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.
 
 
RACE 6:         RAY WHITE GEANEY KIRKWOOD BENCHMARK 65          1600M
REFORMIST – travelled wide throughout. 
DEAL AN ACE – shifted inward passing the 250 metres to continue to improve. Rider Lacey Morrison lost her off-side iron passing the 400 metres which she was unable to recover, this placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
EAGLE WARRIOR – jumped out at the start dictating CALL ME HILTON out onto REFORMIST.
YOU ARE KING - lay in under pressure in the early part of the final straight.
MISHANI PERFECTION – fractious in the barriers prior to release.
CALL ME HILTON – inconvenienced on jumping.
