Race 7: JTH ENGINEERING RATINGS BAND 0-55 Handicap 1300M
HEROIC DELANEYS –Rider Peta Edwards reported at scale that in her opinion HEROIC DELANEYS felt uncomfortable in its action in the final straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of lameness in the right hind. Trainer Scott Seymour undertook to report back to Stewards should any underlying factors become apparent in the coming days.
GENERAL
Stewards approved the following overweights:
Race 2. Masayuki Abe (REMEMBER ROY) +1.0kg
Race 3. Lacey Morrison (OUR ADDICTION) +1.0kg
Race 1: WHISKEY PLUMBING & CIVIL Maiden Plate 820M
Correct weight was delayed to allow rider Nathan Thomas (TOWERS HILL) to view the available replays to ascertain whether he had grounds to protest. After viewing the replays, rider Thomas elected not to proceed and correct weight was declared.
CRYPTIC SHOT – Laid out throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
TOWERS HILL – Laid in under pressure in the home straight obliging rider Nathan Thomas to stop riding and straighten his mount on two occasions.
DIVINE SOUL – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
BETTA WIN – Began very awkwardly.
EXO MISS – Lost both hind plates during the event. Rider Rachel Shred reported at scale that EXO MISS laid out throughout.
Race 2: LAMBERTS FRESH PRODUCE & ATKINSON SURVEYS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 820M
IBEGOOD – Cast a plate while being transported to the meeting and then was fractious and was unable to be replated. As a result, permission was given to race without hind plates. Raced wide without cover throughout.
REMEMBER ROY – Raced keenly throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight obliging rider Nathan Thomas to stop riding and straighten his mount nearing the 150 metres.
STATESWOMAN – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout.
EGZAKLY – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
Race 3: SAPE INDUSTRIES CLASS 5 Handicap 1000M
LATIN BOSS – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn up to a point nearing the 150 metres.
NORTHERNONTAP – Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding the performance, rider Wanderson D’Avila stated that the gelding failed to handle the track conditions at any stage.
COPPABELLA ROAD – Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight. Laid in nearing the 200 metres across the heels of LATIN BOSS and had to be steadied.
EXCELBOOM – Raced wide without cover throughout.
NOSEY NEO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
OUR ADDICTION – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Ewan on Friday 25th September and was passed fit to race.
Race 4: AU CONTRACTING AND NRC ELECTRICAL & REFRIGERATION BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1200M
THIRD MASTER – Shifted out on jumping, hampering RED LIGHT POWER.
AOOM’S CHOICE – Lost its near-side front plate during the event.
MIDDLE CHILD – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide with cover throughout.
SOUTH BULLAWAY – Began awkwardly however recovered quickly.
COMBS – Began awkwardly contacting the side of the barriers, then bumped shortly after. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Rider Isabella Teh reported at scale that the gelding failed to handle the track conditions today.
BUBBLE TEA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
RED LIGHT POWER – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping with MIDDLE CHILD, then hampered shortly after.
Race 5: THE ALLINGHAM FAMILY AND WELL HUNG GLASS & ALUMINIUM QTIS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1300M
THIRTEEN UNDER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers and was passed fit to race. THIRTEEN UNDER was declared a late scratching at 4:26pm after refusing to load into the barriers. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on THIRTEEN UNDER be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st MISS SHU (NZ) 21c win, 22c place
2nd DEAL AN ACE 22c place
Trainer Sharlee Hoffman was advised that THIRTEEN UNDER must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
ANDERS KISS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
Race 6: THE JOHN BARR MEMORIAL MILE CLASS 4 Handicap 1600M
MR SHORTY – Raced wide in the early stages.
EAGLE WARRIOR – When questioned regarding the performance, rider Lacey Morrison could offer no tangible explanation other than that EAGLE WARRIOR failed to travel at any stage and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
CLUEDO – Began awkwardly.
TWIN TURBO – When questioned regarding the performance, rider Ben Kennedy could offer no tangible explanation other than that TWIN TURBO failed to travel at any stage and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
