STEWARDS REPORT

 FLINTON RACE CLUB

4th APRIL 2026

WEATHER – FINE   TRACK RATING –   FIRM  RAIL – TRUE

OFFICIALS
Stewards – S Coulthard (Chair), W Glass.

GENERAL
LETTERS OF ROMANCE (Race 1) and FULLY SUBSCRIBED (Race 5) underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to an extended period since last racing.

Stewards approved the following overweight:
Race 3: P Randall +.50kg(55.5kg)

Prior to the commencement of the meeting, Stewards, track officials, and a delegation of senior riders inspected a section of the track near the 100m mark. After remedial works were carried out, this section was re-inspected, and all parties were satisfied to proceed with the meeting.

RACE 1:WESTGATE SEEDS MAIDEN PLATE 1200m

BOULEVARD BOY – Began awkwardly and slow away.

BODYSWERVE – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice S Callow was reminded of her obligations to stop and straighten her mount when shifting ground.

CORONATION DAY – Raced wide throughout.

RACE 2:SANDJACK CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
DESERT STAR - Raced wide throughout.

DANE ICHI – Slow to begin.

THE STONE MASON - Raced wide throughout.

RACE 3: O'TOOLE TRANSPORT FLINTON CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1200m

PESHWA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider, S Sweedman reported his right foot made contact with the barrier partition on jumping, however, was fit to continue his engagements.

INATICK – Bumped on jumping.

RACE 4: BROWN & HURLEY CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m

HEROIC DELANEYS – Slow in stride. When questioned, Apprentice S Callow stated that after being slow away, she was unable to obtain a desired position in the early stages of the race and further added that the mare resented the kick back throughout the event, which in her opinion both proved detrimental to its overall chances.

VIKING TREASURE - Raced wide throughout.

CASINO CAT – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.

RACE 5: WHATASHOW PASTORAL QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000m

CEEKAY’S CHOICE - Approaching the 600m, the saddle of Apprentice S. Callow shifted, resulting in Ms Callow losing the use of her irons for the remainder of the event. Following the running of the race, Ms Callow, due to fatigue, dismounted near the 1200m. Acting under the provisions of AR208(3)(b), Stewards were satisfied at that time that Ms Callow had carried the correct weight, and correct weight was subsequently declared on the judge’s numbers.
Subsequent to the declaration of correct weight, it was established that Ms Callow’s lead bag and gel pad had become dislodged at approximately the 350m mark. Stewards were satisfied that the combined weight of the dislodged equipment exceeded 0.50kg. After taking evidence from S Callow and stable representative for M Kropp, William Kropp, CEEKAYS CHOICE was disqualified from last place under the provisions of AR209(2)(a), which requires a horse to carry its allocated weight throughout the race.

UCHI – Slow to begin.

TINKERBELLA – Apprentice K Lenton reported her mount hung when placed under pressure in the home straight.
