GENERAL
 
As jockey R. Plumb was not attending the meeting today due to injury, a riding replacement was made in Race 3 as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
As Apprentice M. Savva was unable to attend the meeting today a riding replacement was made in Race 6 as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: KLUCK FARMS MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M
 
STAR SINGER – Slow to begin. Hung out rounding the home turn.                                                                        
 
DE NOVA STELLA – Laid in approaching the 1000m. Laid in in the home straight.
 
JILLERETTE – Steadied from heels approaching the 1000m.
 
SHEINDLIN – Reared as the start was effected, and was then slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of TSANI TOPAZ approaching the 500m and shifted wider on the track.
 
TSANI TOPAZ – Stewards accepted the explanation provided by Trainer M. Boland regarding the late declaration of Apprentice A. Thompson as rider.
 
DREAM PIECE – Laid in in the home straight. Became awkward and was steadied from the heels of another runner rounding the home turn.
 
D’GREAT BEAUTY – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SMARTCELLI – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 2: TAB MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
BRAZEN CHOICE – Raced 3 wide for the majority.
 
TOTALLY READY – Made the home turn awkwardly.
 
PRINCESS MONA – Improved onto heels and shifted wider on the track leaving the 800m, and then raced wide from that point.
 
ROCK ON HIGH – Declared a late scratching at 8.32am on veterinary advice. Trainer D. Dobbin was advised that the mare will require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming racing.
 
IBERIAN LACE – Began awkwardly and made contact with a runner to its inside.
 
Race 3: TEMPORARY FENCE & BARRIER HIRE CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1400M
 
CLIVEDEN – Steadied when placed in restricted room approaching the 1200m.
 
SHUDA KNOWN BETTER – Laid in in the home straight.
 
MAHARNI – Held up for clear running from the 300m until entering the home straight.
 
DINISTY – Apprentice S. Tomlinson could offer no explanation for the seemingly disappointing performance other than that the mare may have come to the end of its current preparation. Trainer L. Hatch also expressed disappointment in the performance, and advised that the mare will now be sent for an immediate spell.
 
ALEJANDRA – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels shortly after the start.
 
Race 4: LOCKYER VALLEY PAINTING – JASON DIETE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 860M
 
ACCEPTILE – Slow to begin.
 
JACKSON STORM – Tightened for room on jumping away and lost ground. Overraced in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and proved somewhat difficult to ride out over the concluding stages.
 
IMABARMAN – Held up for clear running for some distance passing the 100m.
 
PIPE DREAM LASS – Raced wide without cover throughout.  
 
EVAMAC – Stewards permitted Apprentice B. Mackie to claim only 1½ kg of her 3 kg allowance when no other suitable claiming apprentice was available. Apprentice Mackie was fined $300 for failing to claim her full allowance. Steadied from heels shortly after the start. Steadied from heels and shifted wider on the track approaching the 500m. Raced very wide throughout.
 
INKY BAY – Laid out rounding the home turn and shifted wider on the track.
 
BACKUP BILLY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight, and was steadied from heels near the 200m.
 
Race 5: OZLAV PLUMBING BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1100M
 
ASK AUDREY – Slow to begin. Checked and lost ground leaving the 800m when HARRY’S STAR (A. Fancourt) shifted in onto SOLID ASSET (App. G. Hayes) which in turn was forced in onto ASK AUDREY (App. M. Kennedy). A. Fancourt, the rider of HARRY’S STAR, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 131(a) in that leaving the 800m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SOLID ASSET which was forced in onto ASK AUDREY resulting in that runner being checked and losing ground. Jockey Fancourt’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 9 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 27 July 2019 and expire at midnight on Monday 5 August 2019. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration jockey Fancourt’s prior good record in relation to this rule.
 
HARRY’S STAR – Tightened for room between MENTAL AS ANYTHING and WOLF TALES shortly after the start. Bumped on the hindquarters approaching the 900m.
 
CHAMPAGNE WARRIOR – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
WOLF TALES – Shifted out shortly after the start.
 
TIN’S POCKET – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
MENTAL AS ANYTHING – Began awkwardly and made contact with a runner to its outside. Bumped by another runner approaching the 900m.
 
Race 6: LOCKYER PRODUCE FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1400M
 
SHRAPELLI – Overraced in the early stages.
 
BOLTIN’ DESIRE – Forced wider on the track in the home straight.
 
CALIFORNIA SPYDER – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
NOREENA – Raced keenly in the early stages, and was steadied from heels approaching the 1200m. Inconvenienced by another runner and forced wider on the track leaving the 200m.
 
SAGRE’S POINT – Forced wider on the track rounding the home turn.
 
Race 7: LOCKYER VALLEY WASTE MANAGEMENT COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BENCHMARK 50 – 1400M
 
LANDALE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
LORD OF THE DREAMZ – Laid in under pressure from the 200m.
 
SAME OLD – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ORLEANS – Slow to begin.
 
RAYMAX – Brushed the running rail approaching the 300m.
 
ANNIHILATION – Forced wider on the track by another runner approaching the 1200m, and then raced wide from this point.
 
SHADOW EMPIRE – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
