Race 1:TAB Maiden Handicap 860 metres
 
The start was delayed approximately 4 minutes when two runners broke through the barriers.
 
Hail To The Chief – Broke through the barriers before travelling a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Put in an awkward stride near the 600m and lost ground. Raced wide for the remainder.
 
Uber Jet – Slow to begin and shortly after was crowded.
 
Riva's Angel – Broke through the barriers before travelling a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. A post- race veterinary examination identified abrasions to its near side cornea. Trainer B Whalley was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to resuming.
 
Bobbybouche – Inconvenienced near the 500m when JENNEFICIAL shifted out when racing greenly. Raced wide for the remainder.
 
Jenneficial – Near the 500m raced greenly and shifted out.
 
Red Dress – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Tateyama – Fractious behind the barriers and dislodged App Z Lloyd. App Lloyd was cleared to fulfil his engagement. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
 

Race 2:Mozzies Welding QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 860 metres
 
The start was delayed approximately 3 minutes when two runners broke through the barriers.
 
 
A Little Witty – Put in an awkward stride near the 250m.
 
Songzilla – Shied approaching the winning post momentarily unbalancing its rider.
 
Autumn Daze – Began fairly. Shortly after the start raced in restricted room. Near the 400m raced tightly between runners. Held up approaching the home turn. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Millions Star – Over raced early and middle stages.
 
Spirit Of Quin – Raced wide throughout.
 
Piscataway – Raced greenly throughout. Trainer M Palmer was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners.
 
Alsanta – Broke through the barriers before travelling a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Pulled up passing the winning post. A post- race veterinary examination determined that the filly had sustained an injury to its near fore. Trainer N King was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to it resuming.
 
Raceday Glamour – Broke through the barriers before travelling a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Shied approaching the winning post momentarily unbalancing its rider.
 
 
 
 
Race 3: Rock Trade Industries Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
Prior to correct weight the Trainer of the second placegetter viewed the official photo to ascertain the placings. Once satisfied correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.
 
Baltic Cavalier (NZ) – Jockey T Gray pleaded guilty pursuant to AR132(5) in she used he whip in an excessive manner that being 30 times, 16 more than permitted. Jockeys Gray’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14 days to commence midnight 27/7/21 and expire midnight 10/8/21.
 
Fletcher's Mutiny (NZ) – As the gelding has not raced for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Tactics queried rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Jockey A Allen stated that in the middle stages the gelding was inclined to lay out and when approaching the home turn was held up when awkwardly placed at the heels of BALTIC CAVALIER. Shortly thereafter he was disappointed for a run between REBEL CAUSE which rolled out and BALTIC CAVALIER which rolled in. Jockey Allen further added that he then shifted wider to secure clear running and was again steadied when SETHLANS rolled in, thus obliging him to shift across it heels to secure clear running. He added that dropped his whip passing the 300m. Stewards noted his comments.
 
Sethlans – Raced ungenerously when being restrained in the early stages. Laid in in the home straight.
 
Dustoff – Shortly after the start steadied when placed in restricted room when racing ungenerously. Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
Rebel Cause – Over raced early and middle.
 
Teverina – Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer L Gore was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners.
 
 
Race 4: Temporary Fencing & Barrier Hire BM65 Handicap 1100 metres
 
Galapagos – Slow to begin.
 
Rocky Nugget – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Lansbrook – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Brazen Dynamo – Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination failed to find any apparent abnormalities.
 
Von Saga – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.
 

Race 5: Lockyer Valley Painting BM58 Handicap 1400 metres
 
 
Coach – Sustained abrasions to its off-hind hock enroute to the course and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Near the 500m was awkwardly placed on the heels of RISALDAR and steadied.
 
Lexington Lad – Fractious in barriers. Began awkwardly. Made the home turn awkwardly before shifting in to secure clear running.
 
Righteousness – Slow to begin then bumped.
 
Vermutin – Laid out throughout.
 
Enchanted Reign – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 6: Royal George Hotel Rosewood BM58 Handicap 1400 metres
 
The start was delayed approximately 5 minutes when two runners broke through the barriers.
 
Grey Noise – Broke through the barriers before travelling a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Its rider accidently dropped her whip near the 100m. Performed below market expectations. App Webb stated that after travelling well the gelding failed to respond as expected in the straight and proved disappointing.
 
Supervisor – Disappointed for clear running near the 150m before shifting wider.
 
Wickmo – Fractious in barriers.
 
Wealth'n'Power – Raced keenly early before racing wide in the middle stages.
 
Duble Gaze – Fractious in barriers, removed and underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start. Slow to begin.
 
Eleuthera – Stewards acceded to a late gear request for the filly to race without a cross over nose band. Co trainer T Sears was fined $100 pursuant to AR 206(2). Slow to begin.
 
Lemon Duchess – Hung out throughout, proved difficult to ride and made the home turn very wide. Trainer G Cornish was advised that the mare would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming.
 
Enterprise Electra – Broke through the barriers (twice) before travelling a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start.
 
Sizzling Diamond – Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
Race 7: Darleen Duryea Fundraiser BM55 Handicap 1100 metres
 
Applecross – Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground.
 
Not By Nature (NZ) – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start.
 
Rostrum – Near 900m steadied after improving onto the heels of SOLID ASSET. Steadied near the 700m when racing in restricted room. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Solid Asset – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start. Laid in throughout. App G Hayes was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
Rozeira – Began awkwardly.
 
Miyako Odori – Slow to begin.  Performed below market expectations. Apprentice Lloyd stated that the mare felt a little one paced and did not respond as expected over the concluding stages. A post- race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 

Race 8: Agricultural Requirements Gatton BM55 Handicap 1100 metres
 
The start was delayed approximately 2 minutes when a runner broke through the barriers.
 
Sound Of Sleat – Bumped on jumping. Bumped near the 250m when IN AGREEMENT shifted out.
 
Krustallos – Bumped on jumping. Raced ungenerously early and middle stages.
 
Heat – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with the barrier partition. App Lloyd reported the gelding proved disappointing. A post- race veterinary examination could find no apparent abnormalities.
 
My Cousin Steve – Near the 400m became awkward and contacted the running rail.
 
La Ready Rosa – Bumped shortly after jumping. Raced wide middle.
 
In Agreement – Bumped on jumping. Near the 900m was checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey G Geran (Graziano) was found guilty of a charge under AR131(a) in that near the 900m he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of IN AGREEMENT causing that runner to be checked and lose ground. Jockey Geran’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 31/7/21 and expire midnight 8/8/21.
 
Our Boy Borris – Broke through the barriers before travelling a short distance. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start.
 
 
Race 9: McNeil Farms Class 3 Plate 1600 metres
 
Princly Sum – Overraced in the early stages.
 
Searing Speed – Slow to begin. Raced wide. Apprentice W Peel reported that in her opinion the gelding did not appreciate the tight turning track. A post- race veterinary examination could find no apparent abnormalities.
 
Badge of Gameness – Near the 400m bumped with BIRKIN BLACK which was attempting to improve to its inside.
 
Birkin Black – Near the 400m bumped with BADGE OF GAMENESS.
 
Royalspector – Near the 300m was steadied when SLIGHTLY SHADY shifted out whilst weakening.
 
Tycoon Player – Overraced in the early stages.
 
Me Mum's Foxy – Performed below market expectations. Jockey A Fancourt was disappointed with today’s performance and felt that the mare may have resented racing in earmuffs. A post- race veterinary examination could find no apparent abnormalities.
 
Slightly Shady – Change of tactics, will be ridden more conservatively. After being caught wide early its rider elected to push forward and race outside the lead. A post- race veterinary examination could find no apparent abnormalities.
 
Spurious – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 300m raced in restricted room.
 
 
Stewards intend to discuss with relevant authorities, regarding the issue with some barriers opening prematurely on multiple occasions at today’s meeting.
