GENERAL
 
As rider N. Fazackerley was under suspension and rider R. Jamieson was injured, Stewards permitted rider changes as per the race day summary.
 
Stewards accepted the reasons for the late rider declaration for BLACK SUNRISE engaged in Race 7.
 
Trainer M. Dunn was fined $200 pursuant to LR 67 for failing to declare a rider for SILVER GALAXY engaged in Race 5 by the prescribed time.
 
Race 8: AIN’T SHE LOVELY was declared a late scratching at 2:21pm due to transport difficulties.
 
 
Race 1: LOCKYER VALLEY WASTE MANAGEMENT Maiden Plate 860 metres
 
OUTLAW JOSEY WALES – Slow to begin.
 
COURTINGROCK – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed small lacerations to the off-hind heel and the near fore cannon.
 
DUTCHY'S ANGEL – Slow to begin. Raced wide early.
 
FINEST ACT – Improved onto the heels of COURTINGROCK and blundered leaving the 800m.
 
FREDDY BARBAROSSA – Slow to begin.
 
AYNAT – Hung out for the majority of the race and made the home turn wide resulting in the filly being unable to be fully tested by its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections were advised the filly would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
 
HURRY HOME – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 2: THE LOCKYER & SOMERSET INDEPENDENT Class 1 Handicap 860 metres
 
TOP MASTER – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
 
STOP THE ROT – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
FREEFICA – Over-raced in the early stages and had to be steadied from heels nearing the 800m. Blundered on entrance to the home straight.
 
THE WAITING MAN – Rider C. Meehan’s whip became momentarily entangled in the offside rein of another runner approaching the 150m.
 
NAYTELLRHI BIRD – Obliged to race in restricted room approaching the 600m when COOL ESPRESSO shifted in when not fully clear. The rider of COOL EXPRESSO, B. Ainsworth, was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.

ALCASO – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 3: EMMERSON LEGAL & ACCOUNTING RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1100 metres
 
WIDE LOAD – Raced wide throughout.
 
WITHOUT CHOICE – Raced wide throughout. Rider N. Thomas reported that gelding had a tendency to hang out when caught racing wide.
 
GOLDEN SYMPHONY – Jumped awkwardly and was then hampered and lost ground a short distance after the start when MATILDA GENE was taken wider by OCEAN DRIVE.
 
COOL INTELLIGENCE – Obliged to raced in restricted room shortly after the start and lost ground. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
OCEAN DRIVE – Jumped awkwardly and then shifted out abruptly resulting in outside runners being inconvenienced. Gave ground over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be exhibiting clinical signs of atrial fibrillation. Connections were advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance inclusive of a EGC report prior to completing a trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again.

HIDDEN GLADE – Hung out for the majority of the event. A warning was place on the racing manners of the gelding.
 
MATILDA GENE – Jumped awkwardly and was then hampered and lost ground when OCEAN DRIVE shifted out abruptly.
 
SHEINDLIN – Rider N. Masuda was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip more than 5 times before the 100m.
 
Race 4: Happy Easter from the LVTC Committee and Members RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 H 1100 metres
 
MR VISTA - Raced in restricted room leaving the 1000m and had to be steadied from the heels of TEMUJIN LASS which laid in. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
GOSSIAUX – Bumped on entrance to home straight.
 
PETITE PROMISE – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
IN HAVANA – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
CITRUS BURST NZ – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels when over-racing approaching the 900m and shifted wider.
 
TEMUJIN LASS – Bumped shortly after the start. Laid in leaving the 900m point causing tightening to MR VISTA. Laid out roundly home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than the presence of some fluid in the trachea. Trainer K. Kemp advised he would have his stable veterinarian examine the mare in the coming days and would advise Stewards of any abnormalities that may be found upon further examination.
 
DREAMALINA – Raced wide throughout.
 
ASTROPHYSICS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GEOTIME – Jumped awkwardly then bumped with another runner shortly after. Hung out leaving the 400m and had to be steadied from heels.
 
Race 5: RAY BACHMANN REAL ESTATE LAIDLEY Maiden Plate1100 metres
 
JOHNNY THUNDER – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Race wide throughout.
 
SUMMER STAR – Jumped awkwardly. Improved onto heels leaving the 400m and had to be steadied.
 
SHOTGUN SAM – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival at the barriers due to some blood being present in the mouth of the gelding due to a displaced juvenile tooth and was subsequently cleared to start. Slow to begin.
 
SILVER GALAXY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
BEYOND THE SEA- Raced wide throughout.
 
ROZEENA – Raced wide early.
 
MANDALAY BLONDE – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
 
LIGHT UP THE DAWN – Tightened for room and had to be checked approaching the 600m when ROZENNA shifted in when not clear to do so. Jockey N. Evans, the rider of ROZEENA, pled guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for permitting his horse to shift in approaching the 600m when insufficiently clear of LIGHT UP THE DAWN resulting in that runner having to be checked by its rider and lose its rightful running. Stewards after hearing submissions on penalty, directed the licence to ride in races of Jockey N. Evans be suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 16/4/2022. Jockey N. Evans was advised of his right to internal review. Over-race in the middle stages. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
BRAZEN ZUMBA – Checked from heels rounding the home turn when LIGHT UP THE DAWN shifted out when not fully clear. Apprentice E. MacPherson, the rider of LIGHT UP THE DAWN, in the presence of apprentice advocate Mr B. Saunders, pled guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for directing her horse out rounding the home turn when insufficiently clear of BRAZEN ZUMBA resulting in that runner having to be checked by its rider and HOT OR NOT also being inconvenienced and taken wider. After hearing submissions on penalty, Stewards suspended Apprentice MacPherson’s licence to ride in races for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 16/4/2022. Apprentice MacPherson was advised of her right to internal review.
 
HOT OR NOT – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Inconvenienced rounding the home turn.
 
Race 6: TAB Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
HOKE'S RUN – Bumped on jumping.
 
LAST ROYAL – Jumped awkwardly and then bumped the hindquarters of HOKES RUN and lost ground.
 
DEDICATED FEW – Jumped awkwardly.
 
ROSE OF TAORMINA - Jumped awkwardly.
 
BELLA'S BEAT – Jumped awkwardly.
 
CENTRE STRIKER – Raced wide early.
 
Race 7: PORTERS PLAINLAND HOTEL LAIDLEY CUP BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1600 metres
 
OCTAVIAN – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
LORD OF DARKNESS NZ – Hung out shortly after the start and again at the 1200m. Held up leaving the 400m. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 8: BLUE DOG SPORTS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1100 metres
 
GENERAL NELSON – Reluctant to proceed to the start. A warning was placed on the pre-race manners of the gelding. Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
BID IN A HURRY NZ – Bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. Over-raced in the early stages.
