Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting –
Race 5 – KISS OF THE DAY – T See +0.5kg
Race 5 – ROWLETT – M Murphy +1kg
 
Race 1: GATTON CUP 25TH JUNE - SAVE THE DATE Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
LAST ROYAL – Slow to begin.
 
SPIRIT OF ZAZOU – Raced wide throughout.
 
HOME OWNER – Stood flat footed as the start was affected lost significant ground before taking no competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S Barker was advised the mare would be barred to Non-TAB venues until its form improves.
 
UCHIDA – Near the 1000m had to be steadied when racing to the inside of AGRACIANA which laid in and away from EPIC REIGN which shifted in. Jockey M Potgieter was remindered to exercise more care in similar situations. At the 700m improved onto heels when the pace slackened. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
AGRACIANA – Began awkwardly.
 
SHEZANUISANCE – Slow to begin. Race wide with cover throughout.
 
 
 
Race 2: OZLAV PLUMBING Class 4 Handicap 1400 metres
 
 
SEA ECHO – Began awkwardly shifting out and bumping REDSTONE. Jockey B Andrew licensed to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 5.05.2022 and conclude midnight 12.05.2022) under AR132(5) for her excessive use of the whip use.
 
SPIRIT'S CHARM – Crowded on jumping and lost ground. Raced three wide throughout. Jockey R Fradd was fined $200 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 8 times before the 100m.
 
REDSTONE – Bumped at the start. Held up over the concluding stages and was unable to be fully tested to the line.
 
ISSAQUAH – Raced three wide throughout with cover.
 
TICINO BELLE – Rounding the home turn was tightened between SPIRIT'S CHARM who was racing to the outside and THE KNIGHT who was racing to the inside which hung out.
 
THE KNIGHT – Hung out from the 800m despite the efforts of its rider. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Dunn was advised the gelding would require an official trial prior to racing.
 
 
Race 3: LOCKYER PRODUCE Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres
 
KINGSTAR AMBER – Near the was 1000m placed in restricted room and had to be steadied as AIN'T SHE LOVELY shifted in. App J Cornish, rider of AIN'T SHE LOVELY was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift in tightening to the runners to her inside. Leaving the 800m was again placed in restricted room and had to be eased when KINDLING SPIRIT shifted in. G Cartwright, rider of KINDLING SPIRIT was advised to exercise more care in similar situations.
 
SHOOTING ROSES (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
ZANAZOU – Slow to begin. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
CHESTER'S ANGEL – Began awkwardly, bumping with ZANAZOU.
 
DREAM WEAVING – Fractious in the barriers. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
KINDLING SPIRIT – Began awkwardly.
 
REDENZO GAL – Slow to begin. Shifted in near the 800m and contacted the rail.
 
 
Race 4: TAB COUNTRY HEIST BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 860 metres
 
 
TOURMASTER – Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CURRY CONNECTION – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
LIVELY LASS – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
OUR BOY BORRIS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
TINDER – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
 
Race 5: GATTON VIEW HOTEL Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
DESPARADO – Slow to begin. Over raced becoming unbalanced and shifted wider rounding the first turn.
 
TERMITE – Bumped just prior to the winning post when GEOSTORM shifted in under pressure.
 
WESTLANDER – Slow to begin.
 
SCARRED FOR LIFE – Buffeted between runners shortly after jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
ROWLETT – Began awkwardly bumping with GEOSTORM before shifting back in and bumping with SCARRED FOR LIFE.
 
GEOSTORM – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in under pressure and bumped with TERMITE just before the winning post.
 
 
Race 6: NOLANS TRANSPORT Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres
 
WOLFF BOSS – J Molloy – Clipped heels then blundered rounding the home turn. App J Molloy was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that he attempted to improve between BOBBY AXELROD and MR VISTA where there was insufficient room to do so, which resulted in WOLFF BOSS clipping the heels of MR VISTA and blundering. App Molley’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days commencing midnight 14.5.2022 and to conclude midnight 22.5.2022.
 
GENERAL NELSON – Began awkwardly losing ground. Raced three wide early with cover. Jockey M Schrapel reported that in his opinion his mount resented racing in a tongue tie.
 
NO BETTER AFFAIRE – Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have serve heat stress and mild signs of colic. Trainer D Hansen was advised that NO BETTER AFFAIRE would require a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start.
 
SHOTGUN SONNY – Slow to begin.
 
CORONEL – Raced three wide early.
 
MR VISTA – Blundered shortly after the start.
 
MONT MONT – After becoming fractious in the barriers the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to making heavy contact with the barrier partition and was cleared to start.
 
ERTIN – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 7: HARMAN CONCRETE RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap1400 metres
 
AWARD KNIGHT – Carried wider near the 400m when BUNGUNDY RULES was directed outwards to obtain clear running. Jockey M Hellyer was advised to exercise more care.
 
BENT BENNY – Buffeted between runners on jumping.
 
BUNGUNDY RULES – Shifted outwards to obtain clear running near the 400m.
 
THE DEMTEL MAN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide from the 800m. Jockey T See reported the gelding travelled well however when placed under pressure over the concluding stages failed to run on. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer L Kelly advised Stewards that he would give consideration into sending the horse for a spell, however would contact Stewards in the coming days.
 
DIVERINE – Bumped heavily at the start having to check and lose ground.
 
HALLO POPPET – Blundered on jumping.
 
TOP PASS – Began awkwardly.
 
MR MAHARAJ - Began awkwardly. Raced three wide throughout.
