GENERAL
Trainer M. Nolan was reprimanded pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch his dual acceptor BESIEGE within prescribed time. Stewards when determining penalty, took into account Mr Nolan’s good record in relation to this rule.
 
Trainer J. Moore was fined $200 pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor’s BATTLESPACE and BEST COFFEE within the prescribed time.

RACE 1: BARRIER REEF POOLS MAIDEN PLATE 860 M

PRIVET (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
NO TUCKER – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
I'LLTELLYOUAFTER – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
RACE 2: LADBROKES BIG BETS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 860 M

MR ENCORE – Raced ungenerously with it’s head up shortly after the start.
 
BOLD TEE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Trainer G. Taylor was reprimanded pursuant to AR 106(1) for presenting the gelding with winkers, which was not part of its approved racing gear.
 
LEVAR – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the winning post, tightened for room and had to be steadied from the heels of DAWYN’S CHOICE (J. Williams) which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice J. Williams pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) in that approaching the winning post, he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of LEVAR, ridden by apprentice R. O’Connell, obliging him to take hold and lose its rightful running. Apprentice J. Williams’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 22nd October 2025 and to conclude midnight 31st October 2025. When determining penalty, Stewards considered apprentice Williams’ record in relation to this rule, status of an apprentice, guilty plea and the QRIC careless riding penalty guidelines.
 
BEITSOO – Slow to begin.
 
DAWYN'S CHOICE – Laid out rounding the home turn. Apprentice J. Williams was fined $200 pursuant to AR 211(1) for weighing in, in excess of the 0.5kg allowance.
 
LEICA PHERRARI – Raced wide throughout.

RACE 3: LADBROKES RACING EXTRAS IN MULTI MAIDEN PLATE 1100 M

FRENCH GUY – Bumped shortly after the start with OUTDOOR CAT. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
YONAKA – Near the 400m, bumped with LOVE TO BE PROUD.
 
CEEKAY'S CHOICE – Bumped shortly after the start with PFEIFFER’S KISS.
 
OUTDOOR CAT – Began awkwardly and bumped with FRENCH GUY. Laid out near the 900m. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
UPSTART LOVER – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn. Trainer M. Nolan was advised UPSTART LOVER would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to next racing.
 
VALLEY OF FAME – Steadied when tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
WORLDY SPIRIT – Began awkwardly. Restrained from the wide barrier shortly after the start to obtain a rearward position closer to the rail. Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
 
PFEIFFER'S KISS – Bumped shortly after the start with CEEKAY’S CHOICE. Passing the 900m, raced in restricted room and was steadied after being taken in by CEEKAY’S CHOICE (L. Tilley) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Jockey L. Tilley was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
LOVE TO BE PROUD – Leaving the 900m, raced in restricted room. Raced wide throughout. Near the 400m, bumped with YONAKA.
 
OUTCRY – Raced wide throughout.

RACE 4: RACING QLD SUPPORTS SAFETY IN RACING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1600 M

REGGIE'S FOLLY – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 1000m, improved onto heels and shifted out, taking BONZABELTER wider.
 
BONZABELTER – Forced wider leaving the 1000m when REGGIE’S FOLLY shifted out and raced wide for a short distance thereafter.
 
ECHO HUNTER – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure over the final 100m. Apprentice C. Sutherland reported his mount was disappointing and may appreciate racing on tracks with more give in them.
 
JENNI INDA JUNGLE – Raced keenly during the middle stages and near the 1000m improved onto heels and had to be steadied. Near the 200m, shifted out and bumped with FLYING CELICA.
 
SOMETHING FORJO – Raced wide from the 700m.
 
FLYING CELICA – Raced wide throughout. Bumped near the 200m. Apprentice O. Kendal could offer no explanation for today’s disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

RACE 5: CONGRATULATIONS TRL PREMIERSHIP WINNERS A GRADE GATTON HAWKS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400 M

DON'T DISS AROUND – Began awkwardly. Jockey B. Lerena reported that in his opinion the gelding may not have appreciated today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
ARAMINTA – When asked to comment on the performance, Apprentice B. Youngberry advised it wasn’t her intention to lead, however after beginning well, the mare then commenced to race keenly and took up a forward position. She further added that when placed under pressure her mount was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the mare’s near hind fetlock.
 
SUPER QUICK – Began awkwardly.
 
FORT WILLIAM – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Cast both hind plates in running.
 
PARO – Began awkwardly. Approaching the winning post, raced in restricted room and was eased when RINGER’S REWARD (M. Savva) shifted in under pressure. Jockey M. Savva was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
BLUE CHIP GIRL – Raced wide for the majority. Laid out rounding the home turn. Near the 50m, raced in restricted room and was eased when RINGER’S REWARD (M. Savva) shifted in under pressure. Jockey M. Savva was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances

RACE 6: LVTC 2025 MELBOURNE CUP CALCUTTA 2ND NOVEMBER TICKETS ON SALE NOW CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1100 M

The start of this race was delayed approximately 3 minutes when DESTINYS PINNACLE became fractious in the barriers and attempted to burrow under the front partition. DESTINYS PINNACLE was subsequently removed, underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching at 4:06pm. On the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on DESTINYS PINNACLE be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st – GOLD FEVER 1c win, 5c place
2nd – DAZZLING DIAMOND 2c place
3rd – WISE CHOICE 3c place
 
Trainer B. Gentle was advised the filly would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to next racing.
 
GOLD FEVER – Apprentice C. Sutherland reported that it wasn’t his intention to lead, however after beginning well and with limited speed shown from other runners, he elected to take up a forward position.
 
DAZZLING DIAMOND – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
AIN'T TELLIN – Raced wide throughout.
 
SPIRIT OF NURAI – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
WISE CHOICE – Laid out rounding the home turn and when placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
RACE 7: 2025 MELB CUP CALCUTTA TICKETS ON SALE NOW LOCKYERVALLEYTURFCLUB.COM.AU RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP  1400 M

PLATINUM GIFT – When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey J. Huxtable advised that when asked to quicken from the 700m, his mount failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. He added that the gelding may not be suited to the 1400m race distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
GERRY'S PICK – Raced wide until leaving the 800m.
 
SEEYA LATER GATER – Slow into stride. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. Leaving the 100m, had difficulty obtaining clear running and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
DARLHISMA – Raced wide throughout.
 
THUNDER SHANGHAI – Slow to begin. Eased down over the final 100m. Jockey S. Sheargold could offer no explanation for today’s disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in its off-hindleg. Trainer B. Everingham was advised THUNDER SHANGHAI would require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing or trialing.
 
MIDNIGHT BOOM – Slow into stride.

RACE 8: BOOK YOUR CORPORATE XMAS PARTY TRACKSIDE SUNDAY 21ST DECEMBER RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1400 M

MIDNIGHT MADNESS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
SWEETPEA MOOCHI – Began awkwardly and bumped with LIPSTICK LIES. Raced wide throughout.
 
YEAH COPY – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 200m until leaving the 100m when shifting out and bumping with RESOLUTE LADY.
 
RESOLUTE LADY – Bumped leaving the 100m.
 
PRETTY LITTLE LASS – Raced wide throughout. Laid in on entrance to the home straight and became momentarily awkward on the heels of WHISTLIN’ RULER near the 200m. Jockey J. Lloyd could offer no explanation for today’s disappointing performance.
 
MILAGRO – Slow into stride.
 
LIPSTICK LIES – Began awkwardly and bumped with SWEETPEA MOOCHI. Raced wide throughout. Cast its off fore plate in running.
 
FOREBEARS – When asked to comment on the seemingly improved performance, Co-Trainer B. Costello advised the gelding had been working well leading into today, and with the lower handicapped weight in today’s race, he had expected a forward showing. He added that FOREBEARS is suited when leading its races. Stewards noted his comments.
