SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Gold Coast 7th February 2026 –
Trainer Jackson Morris was reprimanded under the provisions of AR101(1) failing to obtain consent of the Stewards to have CUSTO and other horses at a location other than his registered stable address.
 
GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweight for today’s meeting –
S. Cormack +1kg (55kg)

The track was upgraded to a Good 4 at 12:50pm.
 
RACE 1: QN HOTEL LAIDLEY MAIDEN PLATE         860 M

SCOTTVILLE SCOOTER was a late withdrawal at 1:20pm as the horse failed to arrive on course. Trainer R. Lyford will be contacted regarding the matter.
 
On the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets placed on SCOTTVILLE SOOTER to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
1st - SYNERGIZE 28c win 19c place
2nd – AMORE SIRENA 35c place
 
BLOODS A RUSHIN’ became fractious, reared and then sat down after being placed in the barriers. The gelding was subsequently removed, examined and declared a late scratching at 1:34pm on veterinary advice.
 
On the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets placed on BLOODS A RUSHIN’ to be refunded in full, with the following deductions to apply:
1st - SYNERGIZE 8c win 5c place
2nd – AMORE SIRENA 16c place
 
Trainer S. Golinski was advised BLOODS A RUSHIN’ would require a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
Rider J. Taylor (BLOODS  RUSHIN’) was examined by QAS officials and found to have bruising to his left calf.
 
SYNERGIZE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after resuming from an extended spell. 
 
THRILL SEEKER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
LIRA – Declared a late withdrawal at 10:25am after becoming cast in the float. Trainer B. Healey was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance before racing again.
 

RACE 2: BARRIER REEF POOLS QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD BM58 HANDICAP     1400 M

SLEEPY JOE – Passing the 200m shifted considerable ground under riding, before being corrected. Rider H. Shaw was notified he must stop riding and correct his mounts sooner in similar situations.  
 
SWANFELS – Raced keen in the early and middle stages.
 
LIFT'N'MEHIGHER – Passing the 1300m momentarily tightened by SWANFELS (L. Tilley), which shifted in slightly and away from SLEEPY JOE (H. Shaw), which was crossing when not quite clear. Rider H. Shaw was notified to ensure he gives sufficient clearance when crossing. Momentarily unbalanced when bumped by SWANFELS approaching the 300m.
 
MISHANI STELLER – Apprentice R. O’Connell was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race.
 
NASIRON – Raced keen early.  
 
OH PRETTY EMMA – Slow into stride. Over raced early.  
 

RACE 3: NOLANS INTERSTATE TPT GATTON MAIDEN PLATE 1400 M

ALZURRI – Slow into stride. Carried wider passing the 1200m. Raced wide without cover from 1200m. 
 
CALL SIGN – Eased down passing the 300m. Rider B. Lerena reported the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer P. Minter was advised the gelding would be required to Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
CONCADOR – Slow to begin. Approaching the 400m momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed.
 
LINWAR – Raced keen early.
 
SICILIAN WARRIOR – Slow into stride.
 
LONHRO'S SHADOW – Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Making the 1200m turn got its head up and shifted out. Apprentice K. Johnston reported it was the intention for the mare to be forward, however; after beginning awkwardly, was not comfortable racing first time clockwise and making the turns laid out. She added LOHNROS SHADOW may not have been suited by the tight turning track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
IT IS WHAT IT IS – When being steadied passing the 1200m, shifted out carrying ALZURRI wider.
 

RACE 4: 2026 MEMORIAL RACE DAY FRIDAY 10TH APRIL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1600 M

FIRE AND LIGHT – Slow to begin. When under pressure in the home straight, laid in.
 
SPIRIT OF NURAI – Rider M. Hellyer reported his mount raced keen in the early and middle stages.
 
TRUSTY BANDIT – Underwent a veterinary examination after contacting the rail in the mounting yard. Raced keen early.
 
PROPOSE – Slow to begin.
 
INVISIBLE TARGET – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
STATE A FACT – Carried wider near the 1100m.
 
ANCIENT MISSION – Raced keen early and near the 1100m got its head up, shifted out, carrying STATE A FACT wider. Steadied near the 50m when awkwardly placed to the inside of TRUSTY BANDIT.
 
 
RACE 5: BOWE'S ELECTRICAL GATTON BM60 HANDICAP         1400 M

SLY CORNER (NZ) – Change of tactics, look for cover from wider barrier. Settled at the rear of the field.  
 
INNERVISIONS – Raced keenly in the lead. Rider M. Hellyer reported the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
LOOSE UNIT – Raced three-wide, without cover in the early stages.
 
LIGHTNING STRIKES – Raced keen early. Laid in when under pressure in the straight.
 
PINTURA ROSA (FR) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after resuming from an extended spell. After being slow into stride at the start, steadied when tightened by LIGHTNING STRIKES, which was taken out by CONEY ISLAND BABY.
 

RACE 6: LOCKYER VALLEY PAINTING 0 - 55 HANDICAP         1400 M
 
GOLD DAZZLER – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BUTWEDID – Rider D. Thornton could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
LITTLE VAIN – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being kicked behind the barriers. Slow to begin (2L). Approaching the 1000m became unbalanced when steadied from the heels of DOITLIKEMAXWELL.
 
PEACH GALANTES – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
SHACKAMAXON - Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 

RACE 7: RDO EQUIPMENT GATTON 0 - 55 HANDICAP         1400 M

MAGADAN – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being kicked behind the barriers. Shortly after the start, tightened between runners.
 
STANDLEE – Rider S. Cormack reported the gelding may not be suited to the tight turning track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations indicating speedy cuts to both fore legs.
 
CLEARLY GEORGE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ROTHWEILER – When under pressure in the straight laid in. Rider H. Richardson explained from the wide gate, she was intending to find cover, however; was obliged to settle further back than expected.  
 
ED I AM – Shifted out on leaving the gates. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.  
 
RESOLUTE LADY – Change of tactics - from the good gate settle further forward. Settled behind the leaders. When under pressure passing the 100m, shifted in, contacted the rail and became badly unbalanced, resulting in Apprentice J. Busuttin losing use of her left iron. Apprentice Busuttin was shown footage of the incident and reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift in when using the whip.
 
EXCEED THE SKY – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
MAXIE TAP (NZ) – Raced three wide with cover in the early and middle stages. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 

RACE 8: LADBROKES MEGA MULTI 0 - 55 HANDICAP         1100 M

COPPER SUNSET – Began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied, settling further back than usual. Raced wide without cover early. Rider H. Shaw reported he was obliged to race wide throughout and his mount responded moderately in the straight when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. 
 
SWEETPEA MOOCHI – Raced keenly for a short distance passing the 600m. Passing the 200m steadied and shifted to the outside of PACIFIC PIRATE into clear running.
 
MOTHER JOY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after resuming from an extended spell. Near the 900m steadied when tightened by HIGH SECURITY (L.Tilley), which shifted in when not quite clear. Rider L. Tilley was advised to exercise more care.
 
PACIFIC PIRATE – Rider H. Richardson reported the mare hung out for most of the event.
 
CRYPT DE PIN – When asked about the improved performance, stable representative for trainer R. Lipp explained the instructions on the mare, which was first up from a spell, were to be positive from the wide gate.
 
HEADLINE LEGEND – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 800m steadied when racing tight to the inside of SWEETPEA MOOCHI. Apprentice A. Graham reported after receiving some tightening near the 900m, the gelding did not respond to her riding and whilst making some ground late in the straight, was a little disappointing in its performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
COTTO – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SONIC ARROW – Trainer P. Bobic was reprimanded pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting the mare without blinkers (part of its approved gear)
