SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Race 6: Trainer L. White reported that DESERT LEGEND had pulled up well from the disappointing performance, however felt that the gelding had come to the end of its preparation and that she will now send the horse out for a spell.
Race 8: Trainer J. Bruce reported that nothing had presented with AMBASSADORS in the following days to explain the performance, adding that the horse was unable to lead as intended and that this along with the smaller turning track, may have contributed to the performance.
GENERAL
Stewards upon arrival, inspected the track and upgraded to a Good 3 at 11.10am
Trainer B. Mair was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider on PANTHER POWER by the prescribed time.
Race 1: FORMATT MACHINERY BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
FLYING RUPERT – Slow to begin. Near the 450m, improved onto the heels of COLTMAN and was steadied.
GOLD REVOLUTION – Apprentice S. Bailey momentarily dropped her near side reign before regathering over the concluding stages.
DON’T CHA WISH – After arriving late on course due to transport issues, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Slow to begin and lost ground.
SILVER GLITTER – Stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer K. O’Neill was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners.
COLTMAN – When asked to comment on the seemingly improved performance, trainer G. Schwenke stated that he was not disappointed with the most recent performance where the horse was ridden forward from a wide barrier, and that he felt the horse being ridden conservatively today in the early stages and racing with cover had contributed to today’s performance.
Race 2: TOP CITRUS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 Metres
The start of this race was delayed when FLAWLESS AMBITION took charge of apprentice A. Meissner when proceeding to the barriers and galloped a considerable distance before being eventually pulled up near the enclosure. Stewards declared FLAWLESS AMBITION a late scratching at 1.46pm.
On the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on FLAWLESS AMBITION be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
1st – SPRUCE – 9c win, 12c place.
2nd – NEWELL BEACH – 12c place.
3rd – GLUTTONY – 12c place.
Trainer B. Murray was advised that a warning would be placed on the pre-race manners of the gelding.
NEWELL BEACH – Stewards intend to question rider W. O’Connell regarding his riding over the concluding stages.
PANTHER POWER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
TUANAKI CREEK – Improved onto heels near the 450m and when being restrained, shifted out and bumped GLUTTONY and became unbalanced.
HOT CONQUEST – Hung out approaching and rounding the home turn, continued to hang out in the home straight and as a result was not able to be fully tested. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer K. Afford was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the Stewards satisfaction before racing again.
CINDY ROCKS – Slow to begin.
STRAZ DANZ – Steadied from the heels of FOREMOST near the 50m and shifted out. Improved onto the heels of FOREMOST passing the winning post and was checked.
GLUTTONY – Bumped near the 450m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider N. Fazackerley was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip in consecutive occasions prior to the 100m.
KITSILANO BEACH – Slow to begin.
Race 3: PROJECT WATER CLASS 3 PLATE 1200 Metres
TIZSO FAB – Reared over and dislodged apprentice J. Busuttin in the enclosure. On proceeding to the start, apprentice J. Busuttin who did not have her feet fully established in her irons was dislodged from TIZSO FAB, which galloped a short distance to the barriers before being captured. Apprentice J. Busuttin was attended to and observed by QAS Officers and was subsequently cleared of any injury and passed to ride. A pre-race veterinary examination of TIZSO FAB passed the gelding to race. Bucked for a short distance after the start. Trainer D. Gardiner was advised that TIZSO FAB would be required to trial to the Stewards satisfaction before racing again and that a warning would be placed on the pre-race manners of the horse.
SUENITO – Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. Trainer J. Hancock reported that in light of today’s performance, that SUENITO would be leaving his training stable.
ROCKY RICH – Fractious in barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground.
DAINTREE DREAMING – Raced wide throughout.
CHOCKABLOCK – Raced keenly in the early stages.
SHE’S PUSHY – Leaving the 150m was steadied between GREEN PARK (A. Meissner) and I’M FAMOUS (P. Carter) which shifted in before being corrected. Apprentice P. Carter was reprimanded and advised to stop riding and straighten her mounts when shifting ground sooner than she has done on this occasion.
I’M FAMOUS – Steadied from heels approaching the 400m.
READY TO MINGLE – Raced wide.
Race 4: MCCITRUS 2025 BATTLE OF THE BUSH GAYNDAH QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1200 Metres
The start of this race was delayed when DIGGITY proved difficult to load. Trainer B. Black was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding.
FLANK SPEED – Raced wide. When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice O. Webb stated she was unable to obtain a forward position in an effort to lead and raced wide, adding that she felt the mare would be suited to a drop back in distance.
VILLADEN (NZ) – Rider N. Fazackerley was fined $100 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip in consecutive occasions prior to the 100m.
DRAGON’S SNIP – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
MASTERPLAN – Raced wide. Rider H. Richardson was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(6)(c) for the use of the whip when out of contention. When asked to comment on the performance, rider H. Richardson stated the gelding was unable to muster any early speed from the wide barrier to obtain a forward position and was not suited to racing back in the field.
GALEKA – Shifted in leaving the 100m resulting in the rider having to momentarily stop riding and straighten her mount.
MAGIC IN ME – Raced wide without cover throughout.
RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Slow to begin.
Race 5: BROWN’S CITRUS TRANSPORT GAYNDAH OPEN HANDICAP 1400 Metres
Correct weight was delayed to afford apprentice O. Webb, the rider of third placed SPOOKY SPIRIT to view the patrol footage of the home straight. When O. Webb did not wish to proceed with any objection, correct weight was declared on the judge’s placing’s.
PESHWA – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment on the performance, rider C. Whiteley stated that that the gelding had over raced and hung in during the home straight and was disappointing in its performance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any apparent abnormalities.
LADY TOWNSON (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
SPOOKY SPIRIT – Slow to begin and lost ground. Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
ROMAN DAGGER (NZ) – Slow to begin and lost ground.
PROOINGA – Near the 150m was momentarily steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of WAR TOO ALL.
WAR TOO ALL – When questioned regarding her riding over the concluding stages, rider K. Gates stated that approaching the finish line her mount was inclined to shift in slightly, which placed her in an awkward position to the heels of PROOINGA on her inside, and for this reason she was not able to ride her mount out to the line. Stewards accepted the explanation.
Race 6: GLENELLEN BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
NATIVE BEE – Apprentice A. Meissner reported that her mount was unable to muster early speed and settled further back than anticipated, however finished the race off well and would appreciate races over further distance.
ACES UP (NZ) – Steadied momentarily from the heels of KNOWITALL FRANK rounding the home turn when that runner laid out despite the efforts of the rider. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
KIRELLA SHORES – Raced wide throughout. Made the home turn very wide.
KNOWITALL FRANK – Laid out rounding the home turn.
FENDBAR – Hung it under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult to ride out. Trainer T. Dougall was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
ARTIE’S DYNAMITE – Raced wide throughout.
