Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting –
Race 5 – CARDANO – M Butler +1.0kg
 
Race 1: COAST TO COAST RACEDAY 6 MAY Class 1 Handicap 1540M
 
SINGER SARGENT - Trainer Adam Campton was fined $300 pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch a dual acceptor by the prescribed time. Slow to begin. Near the 150m raced in restricted room between LEINSTER and MARNIE’s STAR which laid in. Apprentice C Collis was advised to stop and straighten his mount in similar circumstances.
 
BETTER CLASS - Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. 
 
LEINSTER - Trainer P Nipperess advised Stewards that following today’s performance it would be his intention to spell the gelding.
 
MARNIE'S STAR - Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: IN MEMORY OF LAURIE SMITS Class 2 Handicap 1050M
 
BOSTON CITY - Jockey M Cahill when asked to comment on the performance of BOSTON CITY stated that the gelding only travelled fairly in running and when asked to let down in the home straight failed to let down and proved disappointing. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
 
KING'S GOLD - Near the 850m was obliged to steady from heels when racing keenly.
 
HIGHER - Apprentice J Williams was fined $300 pursuant to AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim his full apprentice allowance.
 
ISLES OF AVALON - Lost both hind plates in running.
 
Race 3: AARBRO STEEL TRADING BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200M
 
QUIET RIOT - Near the 150m momentarily steadied when SERIGALA laid out.
 
VETTA VELOCITA - Held up for clear running between the 700m until approaching the home turn.
 
SERIGALA - Laid out under pressure near the 150m.
 
LEGEND RULES - Slow to begin. Raced wide. Carried wider rounding the home turn when METZARRO laid out.
 
METZARRO - Apprentice J Williams was fined $300 pursuant to AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim his full apprentice allowance. Slow to begin. Raced wide. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
WHISTLIN' ARROW - Raced wide.
 
Race 4: HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY CHELSEA TURNER RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1200M
 
METAL ROCK - Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
EXPENSIVE TO KEEP - Raced wide. When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey T Brooker stated that the mare travelled fairly in running however failed to let down in the home straight and proved disappointing. Trainer J Downes advised Stewards that it was now his intention to spell the mare.
 
DEELOSH - Laid in when placed under pressure between the 400m and 200m.
 
SEPTARIA - Tightened on jumping.
 
Race 5: KEVIN AND HEIDI ROY 25TH ANNIVERSARY Maiden Handicap 1100M
 
OLD MAN PAT - Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide.
 
CANYOUFEELIT - Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
HALARKE - Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide.
 
CALL ME MARILYN - Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the filly’s performance Jockey C Bayliss stated that in his opinion the fillies resented todays racing surface and kickback.
 
HUMOUR ME - Laid out when placed under pressure from the 250m obliging its rider to stop and correct on several occasions placing it at a disadvantage.
 
CARDANO - Raced wide.
 
I AM REAL - Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide. Held up approaching the home turn before shifting wider to secure clear running.
 
LAGUNA DE CHICABEL - Raced wide.
 
Race 6: HIGH CALIBRE RACING SYNDICATIONS Class 1 Plate 1900
 
ROCK UP (NZ) - Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
ZOOMURUDI – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CLOUDY MISS – Began awkwardly. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
GREEN ESSENCE - Slow to begin. Raced wide.
 
FLYING PHAROAH - Apprentice B Wheeler reported that his mount had a tendency to lay out throughout the event.
 
TUSCANTE - Began awkwardly. Raced wide from the 1300m.
