Race 1: ONE PM GROUP. QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1050 metres
 
HER EXPENSE – Laid out under pressure in the home straight, proving difficult to ride out.
 
LITTLE SHOW – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room and became awkward approaching the home turn.
 
SPECIALTIE – Slow to begin.
 
BETTY BEERS – A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering from cardiac arrythmia. Trainer P Butterworth was advised the filly would be required to officially barrier trial prior to next racing, and further he would be required to obtain a veterinary certificate, including the results of an ECG prior to next racing.
 
VIENNA ROSE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under the early stages of the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: WOW GROUP Class 3 Handicap 1050 metres
 
KING'S GOLD – Raced wide throughout. Laid in round the home turn. Jockey A Spinks was fined $300 for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
BOWRIDER – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 3: ASF GROUP Maiden Plate 1050 metres
 
DARABAZ – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground.
 
DEVILS WHERE – Near the 900m, was steadied to avoid the heels of CANYOU FEEL IT which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey G Cartwright the rider of CANYOUFEELIT was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident.
 
WHO YA ON – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 4: SOMERSET COLLEGE Maiden Plate 1900 metres
 
GLEN MASSEY (NZ) – Raced keenly from approaching the 1500m until a point near the 1200m.
 
ADELATION – Began only fairly, and shortly after the start clipped heels and blundered.
 
MADAM MAGNOLIA – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
MAURIZMA – Slow to begin.
 
EASILY AMUSED- A post-race Veterinary Exanimation failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
TOSEN DREAMER – Reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Stable representative for the K Lees stable Ms. M Jupp was advised a warning would be issued against the filly’s pre-race behaviour. Began awkwardly. Raced wide from the 900m.
 
Race 5: HIRSCH & FAIGEN Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 58
Handicap 1100 metres
 
Jockey C Bayliss was assessed by the Queensland Ambulance officials following the previous event after taking ill, and was subsequently replaced in this event as the rider of ARLIZAR by Jockey J Taylor. Jockey Bayliss was subsequently cleared to fulfill his remaining engagements by the Ambulance officials.
 
RALPHIE – Over raced early the early and middle stages. Improved onto heels near the 700mand shifted wider on the track.
 
PERNELL – Bumped rounding the home turn.
 
OLD TIMING MAN – Began awkwardly.
 
SNIPILLICIOUS – Began awkwardly.
 
MY ZEBRINKA – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 6: ONE PM GROUP. Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1100 metres
 
The start was delayed approximately 8mins owing to the following incidents occurring prior to the event-
 
POWER SISTER- Dislodged its rider on entering the track and galloped a considerable distance riderless before being recaptured.
 
ALL’S FAIR - Collided into by the riderless horse behind the barriers.
 
BEST SONG- Reared over behind the barriers.
 
All three of these runners were examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently declared a late scratching’s by order of the Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 3:03pm.
 
Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on POWER SISTER, ALL’S FAIR and BEST SONG be refunded with the following dedications to apply-
 
1st- 9 cents the win, 14 cents the place
2nd- 6 cents the place
3rd – 16 cents
 
After considering the individual circumstances relating to these incidents Stewards elected to take no direct action against the manners of each of these horses, however ALL’S FAIR will require a Veterinary Clearance prior to next racing.
 
FACETIOUS – Began awkwardly. App. T Fenlon, was reprimanded for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
DEELOSH – Raced wide throughout.
 
HOT AND STRONG – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 7: VITALE PROPERTY GROUP BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1900 metres
 
I'MTIMMYZOU – Blundered on jumping.
 
CORDYCEPS MIRACLE – Began awkwardly. Bumped on the hindquarters exiting the home straight on the first occasion. App T Fenlon was fined $300 for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
DAMREEL – A post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding which tailed off failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
JAZZ – Raced wide for the majority.
 
ROCK WAR- Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ASSERTIN LADY – A post-race Veterinary examination of the mare which compounded from the 600m failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
WAIKATO – Began awkwardly and then dipped shortly after the start. Over raced in the early stages.
 
 
Race 8: ARI MAIN BEACH BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1540 metres
 
FREEDOM AVENUE – Slow into stride. Jockey J Morris was fined $200 for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the event. In assessing penalty could not be comfortably satisfied Jockey Morris’s actions had cost his mount 5th place. AR131(b).
 
AGENT OF MAYHEM – Slow into stride. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
METAL ROCK – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Shifted out to improve near the 1200m and as a consequence raced wide for the remainder. App. B Wheeler explained that after a wide run, his mount had peaked on its run near the 150m and for that reason he desisted from riding it out over the concluding stages. Stewards noted App. Wheeler’s explanation however advised him of the Stewards expectation that he continue to pressure his mounts whilst still in contention in future. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
DANEROCK – Steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of LA FUSEE near the 1300m which shifted in when not completely clear. P Hammersley the rider of LA FUSEE was advised to exercise more care.
 
DAMIANI – Raced wide from the 1000m.
 
ICE ELITE – Slow into stride. App Y Lewis was reprimanded for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
GRATSIE – Raced wide throughout. App. T Townsend was reprimanded for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
MARNIE'S STAR – Forced wider near the 1200m. Rounding the home turn was hampered when GRATSIE shifting in. App. T Townsend was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
