Stewards permitted the following overweights:

RACE 1: GCTC SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100 M
I AM VOODOO – Raced wide throughout.
PICASSO'S DREAM – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not raced for an extended period and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Momentarily held up at the heels of KELANOA leaving the 100m.
ZATANNA – Began awkwardly. Cast its off-hind plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to its near hindleg.
TARPS – Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn.
KELANOA – Held up when disappointed for a run leaving the 100m and was obliged to shift out leaving the 50m.
MADAME PEARL'S – Began awkwardly.
BLINDING SPEED – Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey A. Goindasamy stated that from a wide barrier, the filly had to do too much work in the early stages which he believes was detrimental to its finishing efforts.
INTEGRITY LANE – Approaching the winning post, improved close to the heels of BEACHSIDE BABE and went to the finish without being fully tested.
RACE 2: CHARLIE DENTON 'HAVE A DAY PEOPLE' BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1540 M
ARCHERS REIGN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
DISSELATION – Laid out approaching and rounding the first turn. Raced keenly during the middle stages. Laid out rounding the home turn. Hung out under pressure in the home straight, proving difficult to ride out and finishing the race off towards the outside fence. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer G. Thornton was advised that DISSELATION would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming racing.
SUPRENDRE – Cast both hind plates in running.
TAKUNAI – Began awkwardly.
RACE 3: BECOME A GCTC MEMBER MAIDEN PLATE 1150 M
HE IS THE KISS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
KENDYACATCHME – Approaching the 200m, steadied from the heels of ESPADA ROPERA (D. McGillivray) which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Jockey D. McGillivray was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
PRIVET (NZ) – Raced greenly throughout the event. Eased down in the home straight. When asked to comment on today’s performance, Apprentice S. Champkin stated that her mount didn’t appreciate racing on the synthetic surface. Trainer S. Sixtus was advised the gelding would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming racing.
DELLUCY – Bumped after the start.
CODE BUSTER – Bumped after the start.
DRUMSHANBO – Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn. Shifted in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
ESPADA ROPERA – Began awkwardly. Near the 400m, improved onto the heels of DELLUCY and was steadied.
SHARPOY – Jockey J. Lloyd reported his mount hung out and never felt comfortable throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in its off foreleg. Trainer S. Morrisey was advised SHARPOY would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming racing or trialing.
RACE 4: MARSHA'S BIG BASH 50TH MAIDEN PLATE 1540 M
CIRCUS MAXIMUS – Began awkwardly.
CITY OF TROY (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Dalby 19/8/2025 and was cleared to start.
KANANASKIS – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously and laid out approaching and rounding the first turn.
SOUTHOFTHEBORDER – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
UNEGA WAHY'A – Hung out approaching and rounding the first turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey L. Dempsey reported his mount was inclined to lay out during the early stages and when placed under pressure, proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
SERENE ECHO – Raced keenly during the middle stages. Near the 1000m, improved onto the heels of SISTINE CHAPEL and had to be steadied. Momentarily held up on entering the home straight.
SISTINE CHAPEL – Leaving the 1000m, became awkward for a number of strides at the heels of UNEGA WAHY’A (L. Dempsey) which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey L. Dempsey was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
PREACHABULL – Near the 1450m, raced in restricted room and had to ease between VISCOUNT SYDNEY and COBBLE which shifted out marginally.
SCUTI – Slow to begin.
RACE 5: STRONGER @ AQUIS STALLIONS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1900 M
SILVER WARRIOR (SAF) – Raced wide during the early stages.
WATERMELON – Raced keenly during the middle stages.
CAPITAL BOSS – Taken wider rounding the first turn.
ATOMIC GOZEN – Began awkwardly. Jockey M. Hellyer was fined $400 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 16 times totality. Stewards when considering penalty took into account Jockey M. Hellyer’s good record in relation to this rule.
BETTER STRINGS – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start. Laid out rounding the home turn.
POWERWOLF (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Near the 500m, tightened for room and steadied to the inside of CAPITAL BOSS (J. Williams) which was placed awkwardly on the heels of BETTER STRINGS and shifted in. Apprentice J. Williams was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
RACE 6: GCTC RENEW MEMBERSHIPS NOW BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 M
SUJEED – Trainer A. Campton was fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider within the prescribed time. Laid out approaching the home turn.
PRIVATE TENDER – Near the 800m, raced in restricted room before being obliged to steady from the heels of EXOFLOW (J. Lloyd) which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey J. Lloyd was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
RYLOV – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Casino 18/8/2025 and was cleared to start.
KING KRYPTOS – Slow into stride. Leaving the 800m, whilst racing keenly, improved onto the heels of PALATIAL PRINCE and shifted out momentarily.
SEEYA LATER GATER – Raced wide throughout.
EXOFLOW – Jockey J. Lloyd pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out over the final 3 strides, which Stewards believe did cost his mount finishing in 4th place. Jockey J. Lloyd’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 23rd of August 2025 and to conclude midnight 30th August 2025. When determining penalty, Stewards considered his record in relation to this rule and QRIC’s penalty guidelines.
STORMTROOPER – Raced wide throughout.
MISS HELMUT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Dalby 19/8/2025 and was cleared to start. Raced wide throughout.
RACE 7: OFFICIATING FIRST FOALS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1540 M
The start of this race was delayed approximately 2 minutes when EASTOWN became fractious in the barriers and flipped over. Subsequently, EASTOWN was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 4:12pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on EASTOWN be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
1st – HORSBURGH 7c win, 7c place
2nd – CALL OUT 7c place
3rd – THE WELLIAN 8c place
Trainer S. Morrisey was advised that EASTOWN would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Trainer A. Campton and Apprentice C. Bellamy, rider of the 2nd placed CALL OUT reviewed the Stewards footage of the home straight. After reviewing the footage, connections were satisfied and Stewards declared correct weight on the judge’s numbers.
MISSION TO WIN – Raced wide throughout.
CALL OUT – Raced wide throughout.
HORSBURGH – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey D. McGillivray was fined $200 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip on consecutive strides prior to the 100m. When determining penalty, Stewards considered Jockey McGillivray’s record in relation to this rule.
PRINCETON AWARD – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
ROCKRATA – Near the 250m, improved onto the heels of MISS SHU and was obliged to shift out.
