GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweight allowance at today’s meeting:
Race 3 – BLACK TYPHOON – Y. Lewis +0.5kg (56kg)

RACE 1: YULONG JOCKEY CLUB TROPHY MAIDEN PLATE 1100M

HANEY – Began awkwardly.
 
MINTO'S PRINCE – Began awkwardly.
 
USUAL LIMITS – Began awkwardly and bumped shortly after the start. Raced keenly during the middle stages.
 
ED I AM – Attempted to buck for some distance approaching the 1000m. Trainer G. Cornish was advised ED I AM would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.  
 
NINJASK – Shifted in at the start and bumped with USUAL LIMITS. Raced wide throughout. Jockey D. Turner dropped his whip near the 250m.
 
PHIL UP – Leaving the 1000m, steadied when tightened for room by HANEY (J. Williams) which shifted in when not clear whilst laying in. Apprentice J. Williams was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a). When questioned regarding today’s performance, Apprentice B. Youngberry stated that the gelding failed to muster speed in the early stages and after receiving interference near the 1000m, failed to travel throughout the event and in her opinion may have resented the kickback. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

RACE 2: SELANGOR TURF CLUB TROPHY MAIDEN PLATE      1540M

JUST WALTER – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Laid out rounding the first turn. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
LIFE OF TREE – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1200m, tightened for room and had to steady between JUST WALTER which laid out and RISE AND RESIST (J. Lloyd) which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey J. Lloyd was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
SAMURAI WAND – Bumped after the start. Laid out under pressure in the home straight, obliging its rider to stop and straighten on multiple occasions. Bumped RISE AND RESIST near the 50m.
 
SCION – Raced keenly during the middle stages, shifted out near the 1100m and raced wide for a short distance before shifting back in to secure cover leaving the 1000m.
 
WITNESS DIS – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
RISE AND RESIST (Lloyd) – Began awkwardly. Raced wide during the early stages. Near the 50m, bumped by SAMURAI WAND which laid out under pressure. Jockey J. Lloyd pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m, 11 occasions in totality. Jockey J. Lloyd’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days commencing midnight 8th October 2025 and to conclude midnight 15th October 2025. When determining penalty, Stewards considered Jockey Lloyd’s goods record in relation to this rule and the QRIC whip penalty guidelines.

RACE 3: QLD COMMUNITY CLUBS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1900M

WATERMELON – Raced wide throughout. Taken wider approaching the 1600m.
 
BRENTWOOD – Began awkwardly. Eased down from the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer D. Morgan advised that he would be discussing with connections the immediate racing future of BRENTWOOD.
 
AUTUNNO – Slow into stride.
 
BLACK TYPHOON - As Jockey Y. Lewis was overweight and there was no suitable rider replacements, Stewards permitted Y. Lewis to ride 0.5kg over the allotted wright. Jockey Y. Lewis was fined $100 pursuant to AR 190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
 
WEEKEND ARTIST – Approaching the 1600m, improved onto the heels of BLACK TYPHOON and shifted out, taking WATERMELON wider. Commenced to race keenly near the 1300m, improved onto the heels of ROYAL CHARGE and was steadied.

RACE 4: PHILIPPINE JOCKEY CLUB TROPHY BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1540 M
 
TUHINGA – Apprentice C. Baker reported that in her opinion the gelding didn’t appreciate racing on today’s synthetic surface.
 
SILVER WARRIOR (SAF) – Bumped after the start.
 
SARSEN – Began awkwardly and bumped shortly after the start.
 
LA SOEUR – Began awkwardly.
 
NEOCLASSICISM – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

RACE 5: THE ROYAL BANGKOK SPORTS CLUB TROPHY BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200M

HULKAMANIA – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
NEW HAMPSHIRE – Jockey J. Lloyd reported that the gelding was disappointing in its performance and may not have been suited to today’s synthetic track.
 
KING KRYPTOS – Slow to begin. Apprentice J. Williams reported that his mount didn’t appreciate todays kickback.
 
TIME BANDIT – Began awkwardly. Trainer J. Grob reported the mare on return to the stable had pulled up sore behind. He advised the mare would now be sent for a spell.
 
TARPS – Cast its off hind plate.
 
WHOMSONEVER – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 800m, commenced to over race, and hung out abruptly across the heels of NEW HAMPSHIRE. Continued to hang out from that point until near the 300m. Approaching the 200m, again hung out, obliging its rider to stop and straighten.  When questioned, Apprentice J. Franklin reported the mare locked its jaw near the 800m and proved very difficult to control. He said the mare continued proving difficult to steer, hung out, obliging him to have a strong hold until the 300m and when asked for an effort from that point, WHOMSONEVER started to again hang out, obliging him to again take hold and straighten. He added leaving the 200m, the mare then made ground and finished the race off well, however; when passing the finish line again locked its jaw and shifted out. Trainer K. Goldman concurred with Apprentice Franklin’s comments adding the mare hung out passing the finish line in a recent jumpout. He stated that following the jumpout, the horse underwent dental work, and after having galloped in between the jumpout and today, he believed the problem had been resolved. Trainer Goldman added that he would be having the mare examined by his Veterinarian following todays performance and would report back to Stewards with any findings. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer K. Goldman was advised that WHOMSONEVER would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
BIRMINGHAM – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
RACE 6: CLUBSNSW ANNUAL CONFERENCE & AGM BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1100M

I AM VOODOO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at the Gold Coast on 4th October 2025 and was cleared to start. Near the 900m, raced in restricted room to the inside of BAD FOREST (J. Williams) which shifted in. Apprentice J. Williams was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Laid out from the 600m until the 400m. Following this event, Apprentice F. Sandkuhl advised Stewards that she was experiencing some discomfort in her lower back.
 
COSMIC SERENADE – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Apprentice C. Krahnen pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m, 11 occasions in totality. Apprentice C. Krahnen’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days commencing midnight 8th October 2025 and to conclude midnight 16th October 2025. When determining penalty, Stewards considered Apprentice Krahnen’s record in relation to this rule and the QRIC whip penalty guidelines.
 
CRITICAL TIME – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CAT CALL – Raced wide for the majority. Apprentice J. Franklin was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the finish line.
 
HIT – Laid in near the 900m. Raced wide throughout. Apprentice O. Webb reported her mount resented the kickback from today’s synthetic track.
 
CALMER KARMA – Began awkwardly.
 
SCHWOON – Near the 900m, steadied from the heels of SHIPPING LANE (B. Youngberry) which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice B. Youngberry was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
RACE 7: PETCH NUEA STABLE THAILAND TROPHY BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1540M

THE WELLIAN – Shifted in on jumping. Taken out near the 400m by ROMAN HEIR.
 
BETTER YET – Change of tactics; to be ridden further forward from the good barrier. Ridden accordingly. Hampered shortly after the start.
 
BLACK MINTO – Shifted out on jumping.
 
EASTOWN – Near the 400m, momentarily steadied and taken wider by THE WELLIAN which was taken out by ROMAN HEIR (A. Allen) which shifted out to obtain clear running. Jockey A. Allen was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
FITZROY STREET (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. Laid in on entrance and in the home straight and when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SISTINE CHAPEL – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ROMAN HEIR – Hampered after the start and lost ground. Shifted out under pressure approaching the 200m and again near the 50m.
 
SUPER FAIR – Slow into stride.
