GENERAL

Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting:
Race 7 – DEVINE FALLS – M. Hellyer +1kg (55kg)
 
RACE 1: APPARENT ROCKY MAIDEN PLATE 1150M
 
VILA MOON – Late withdrawal at 11:55am on veterinary advice when the mare sustained abrasions to its near foreleg whilst being transported. Trainer R. Warzecha was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing or trialling.
 
MR RACING – Slow into stride.
 
AIRBURST – Rider M. Hellyer was reminded of his obligations to fully test his mounts out to the end of the race.
 
KAMIGAMO (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
 
RACE 2: AIRR & TUCKERS ANNIVERSARY BM55 HANDICAP 1050M
 
COUNT NICHOLAS – Over raced early and approaching the 700m, improved onto the heels of EXPRESS BARBIE, shifted out and bumped BONNIE AMORE, resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced. Held up on the entrance to the home straight. Laid in from the 200m.
 
BONNIE AMORE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped by COUNT NICHOLAS near the 700m and became unbalanced. Rider B. Lerena stated he became concerned with the mare’s action in the straight when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer J. Wallace advised the mare may not have been suited to the quick backup and it is now the intention to send the mare for a freshen up.
 
EXPRESS BARBIE – Began awkwardly.
 
 
RACE 3: KEEP THEM SUPER WITH SUPERCOAT BM55 HANDICAP 1900M
 
FOREVER FORTUNE – Following the race it was noted the gelding had cast its off fore plate.
 
ARCHERS REIGN – Rider J. Morris was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race.
 
WILL IT SNOW (NZ) – Raced wide from the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GIDDY GAN'S JOY – Over raced in the early and middle stages and approaching the 1400m checked from the heels of WILL IT SNOW.
 
ALASKA DE LUNE – Began awkwardly.
 
AUTUNNO – Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
FLYING ROTHE – Raced keenly in the middle stages and steadied from heels on several occasions.
 
PREACHABULL – Harmlessly dislodged apprentice J. Newman on route to the barriers.
 
 
RACE 4: HYGAIN EDGE MAIDEN PLATE 1540M
 
ALZURRI – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Gatton 10/2/26. Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BLOOD RED – Raced keenly in the middle stages and steadied from heels near the 900m.
 
CONCADOR – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Gatton 10/2/26. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced three-wide without cover from the 800m.
 
COME ON MR SNIPS – Rider B. Lerena stated the gelding, which was having its second start, raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. He added the gelding would take benefit from the experience. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.  
 
SHOOTING FIRM – Slow to begin.
 
 
RACE 5: GALLAGHER, PROTECT WHAT MATTERS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1540M
 
ASPEN COLORADO (GER) – Began awkwardly.
 
BLACK MINTO – Rider B. Lerena stated after being challenged by BRUTAL BOWLER early and then obtaining a break on that gelding passing the 1100m, his mount raced keenly and when under pressure in the home straight, responded well bearing in mind it was not suited by another runner racing towards its outside in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
CALL ME LEGEND – Slow into stride. Near the 1400m, raced in restricted room and was steadied when racing tight inside ITZA CHARMDEEL which was taken in by WATERMELON (J. Busuttin), which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice J. Busuttin was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
 
RACE 6: ZOETIS & AIRR CLASSIC 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1540M
 
NEOCLASSICISM – When making ground near the 150m, steadied and shifted in to obtain clear running.
 
DAMIANI – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
EFFIE'S JOY – Momentarily held up near the 400m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HAYAKU – Rider B. Lerena reported after beginning well from the inside barrier, the gelding settled further forward than anticipated.
 
BRINGME – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Gatton 10/2/26. Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CALVARY – Began awkwardly.
 
GLENRAY'S MATE – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Following the race, it was noted the gelding had cast its near fore plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer K. Deacon was advised the gelding would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and would be required to gallop/trial 1000m to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
HE'S VIRAL (NZ) – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Checked near the 900m when racing tight inside NEOCLASSICISM (J. Busuttin), which was racing tight to the inside of BRING ME (B. Youngberry). When considering the evidence and particularly the available footage, both apprentice B. Youngberry and apprentice J. Busuttin were advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
 
RACE 7: VIRBAC ANIMAL HEALTH BM70 HANDICAP 1150M
 
SIGNATURE TART – Rider F. Larson was reminded of his obligations regarding the use of his whip when his mount is clearly winning.
