DUCHESS MOLLY – Slow to begin.
RHIATENN ROAD – Jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with HAD ME AT HELLO. Overraced in the early stages. App T. Brooker reported that it was her intention to settle back in the field but after beginning awkwardly the mare overraced in the early stages and when caught wide she allowed it to stride forward.
HAD ME AT HELLO – Bumped heavily at the start.
HURRICANE CASSIE – After passing the 1000m was inconvenienced when taken wider on the track.
STAR DROP – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
Race 2: Austral Bricks Class 3 Plate – 1800m
1st – All Clear 2nd – Blatant 3rd – Hereafter 4th – War Front
DELNIELLO – Slow to begin.
Race 3: Claypave QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate – 900m
1st – Equal Luck 2nd – Meet George Jetson 3rd – Skanda 4th – Prince Of The Turf
MARREW BAR NONE – Jumped away awkwardly. App T. Brooker reported at scale that she was concerned with the filly’s action when placed under pressure soon after straightening and for this reason she eased the horse down over the final 200m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be exhibiting signs of shin soreness. Trainer B. Hudson advised that MARREW BAR NONE would now be sent for an immediate spell.
IN MANILA – Hampered at the start.
RITZY’S COMMAND – Hampered at the start.
SHE’S MY ANDY – Inconvenienced soon after the start.
LUJAC – Soon after the start had to be checked when tightened for room. Jockey A. Allen reported that when the horse received interference at the start it was unable to muster speed in the early stages and in his view the gelding will be better suited over races of a further distance than that of today. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
DARBREE – Had to be eased to avoid heels soon after the start.
SKANDA – After travelling a short distance shifted out abruptly. Raced greenly throughout the event when racing wide without cover.
MEET GEORGE JETSON – Hung out rounding the home turn.
PRINCE OF THE TURF – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight and inside the final 100m shifted out abruptly.
COUNTING CARDS – Raced greenly in the home straight.
Race 4: Austral Masonry Class 2 H’Cap 900m
1st – Bien Coupez 2nd – Deepest 3rd – Rothbury 4th – Quelle Liaison
ROTHBURY – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
MR MEOW – Jockey L. Rolls was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a superficial laceration to the near fore leg.
QUELLE LIAISON – Jockey A. Allen reported at scale that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the early stages and as a result settled further back than intended.
NEOPHYTE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer J. Phillips was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to NEOPHYTE racing again.
Race 5: PGH Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st – Motion Granted 2nd – Drill 3rd – Platinum Prince 4th – Give ‘Em Curry
VINTAGE CHOICE – Trainer’s representative advised the mare will be ridden back in the field if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
IN BAVARIA – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
ESKIMO KING – Slow to begin.
BENZOIN – Passing the 1000m had to be eased when tightened for room. App N. Masuda the rider of DRILL was issued with a reprimand and advised to show greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. After passing the 200m became unbalanced when bumped heavily by WALWA, resulting in jockey A. Allen momentarily losing his off side iron. Raced wide throughout.
WALWA – Shifted out slightly near the 200m and made heavy contact with another runner. Raced wide throughout.
Race 6: National Masonry Class 1 H’Cap – 1400m
1st – Winning Accord 2nd – Tani Tei En 3rd – Sevva Nights 4th – Murta Cape
MURTA CAPE – On 2 occasions over the final stages jockey S. Galloway got his whip entangled with the arm of jockey L. Rolls (SEVVA NIGHTS).
VALTARI – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
Race 7: Les Jacobi Colts, Geldings & Entires Ratings Band 0-70 H’Cap – 1200m
1st – Kudero 2nd – Out Late 3rd – Brigadoon Legend 4th – Golfing
GUNSMOKE – Trainer P. Campbell advised that the gelding will be ridden further back in the field than at its most recent starts if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
SUPERSTITION – Connections advised the horse will be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
KUDERO – Approaching the 1000m attempted to jump a discoloured patch of grass.
MEZZANOTTE – Had to be steadied from the heels of KUDERO when that runner lost some ground approaching the 1000m. Raced wide without cover throughout.
