LIGHTNING STORMS - Stable representative advised the horse would be ridden worse than midfield, which is in contrast to its last start when on speed. The horse was ridden accordingly. Checked and shifted out near the 700m. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.

RACE 7: Magic Millions 13 Jan Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 2 Handicap – 1400m

Correct weight was delayed to afford A. Sewell the rider of second placegetter TAKARAKKA to view the patrol films and after doing so he lodged a protest against DIVINE UNICORN (R. Fradd) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference over the final 200m. It was established that DIVINE UNICORN hung in under pressure inside the final 200m and whilst it did shift ground inwards resulting in TAKARAKKA being taken in slightly stewards were not satisfied, bearing in mind the neck margin, that any slight inconvenience suffered by TAKARAKKA was sufficient to warrant an alteration to the placings and therefore declared correct weight.

TAKARAKKA – Stable representative advised the horse would be ridden with cover today if circumstances permit. The horse was unable to obtain cover and consequently raced outside the leader.

HEARTS HONOUR – Due to mainly the slow pace and as it was caught wide was allowed to stride forward to the lead.

Following a heavy downpour after this race the track was downgraded to a Soft 5.
